Being gay is cool now.
So it should be ok to call someone gay or a gay since it's normal. Like calling someone fat, especially since South Park is in America so it's normal.
Just because it's normal doesn't make it right, it'd be like calling someone who isn't white white, it'd be objectively wrong.

It's as much of an insult as calling someone a "chud." If you call someone gay or a chud, they'll just give you that "are you a moron?" look.
