Cute! CUTE! All Mickeys are cute!

I feel like the only person on Cinemaphile who loves "human skin" Mickey. Everyone here thinks he's sterile and ugly for some reason.

I love peach-faced Mickey because he's insanely hot

In some thread I said he needed a slightly more mature look and a slightly deeper voice.
This is just stock art, but I like how the make up makes him look older.

This. Mickey Mouse Works was mid. It had some amusing moments, but it didn't exactly hold up against the line up of cartoons Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network had at the same time. There's a reason Disney shifted from TV cartoons to live-action shows.

I have mixed thoughts on him. His entire conception was basically being another Felix the cat clone, Similar to Oswald and Bosko. The biggest reasons he managed to stick around was:

    1. The immense skill of the Golden Age Disney artists which allowed his cartoons to be better(or at least better drawn) than the competition.

2.The huge copyright grip Disney has had on him for nearly a century.

It’s also no surprise that once more interesting and unique characters came out such as Daffy Duck, Popeye, and Disney’ own Donald and Goofy, he slowly started to appear less in cartoons and became more a merchandising icon. Notice that Donald has waaaay more shorts than Mickey does in the Classic Era. Although admittedly some of his recent revivals like Runaway Brain and Paul Rudish were pretty good.

Basically, Mickey CAN be entertaining and cool but only when Disney feels like it.

      >2.The huge copyright grip Disney has had on him for nearly a century.
Disney only did this because Mickey quickly became of the symbol of the "Disney" corporation. This didn't happen to his contemporaries like Felix. Bugs came close, but WB skirts around it a lot, for whatever reason, instead of fully embracing it. Might be because he was acquired later in WBs history, rather than its symbol from day 1. Mario is the only modern-day comparison, as he was basically there from the earliest days of Nintendo's presence in the gaming industry (these days, their history back to the 1800s seems to be more of a trivia than anything truly significant).

Oswald would save the character if they became an eternal comedic duo since he brings the best out of Mick

I unironically like Mickey Mouse. His early cartoons are my favorites ("Thru the Mirror" is my all-time) and the Gottfredson comics are great.

His animation shorts are great. Everything from Plane Crazy to Mickey and the Seal is worth watching

Thru the Mirror is the best one, good taste

I like the MM/The Wonderful World of MM shorts. It shows that Disney is still able to produce some grotesque content without stepping out of their boundaries too much. Is it still airing btw?

The early stuff is my typically my favorites. I think we hit a good stride around 1933-1935. The Mad Doctor, Building a Building, The Mail Pilot, Two Gun Mickey, The Band Concert, Mickey's Service Station, Mickey's Fire Brigade. But essentially all of Mickey was excellent. From the late 20s to the early 40s.

I like him, I feel like people see him as Disney too much. Mickey as a character would probably honestly not like the Disney company.
