Two gay old redditors, but Ricky blasting the celebs that one time for being pedophiles was funny.
Evrryting Dave said about trannies was incredibly gay and weak and he did nothing but validate them as “women.”
i like both of them. both had good shows, both are naturally funny, both are good at standup. gervais is an annoying atheist and chappelle is obsessed with black vs white shit. my only 2 faults but it's not that big of a deal, everyone has their biases.
>there's no afterlife because I don't believe in it and said so
That's not how it works actually but keep trying and maybe some day you'll stop being a super duper edge lord atheist and make friends who aren't pillows.
I think they’re both pretty funny, and it’s entertaining how much they make people seethe. Both have realised you can just walk out on stage and take the piss out of trannies and make millions from all the rage that you generate.
Dave Chappelle is the GOAT of comedy hands down. Chappelle Show was the shit. Other than South Park and the Daily Show, Comedy Central hasn't produced anything of its caliber since. He was such a real homie that he turned down the mark contract and left $50m on the table in order to protect his dignity. Then he came back with Netflix years later and opened up a new opportunity on there for every other comic.
10/10
Ricky Gervais is one of the White comics I've watched who's actually funny. He created the The Office, which was a big deal in its heyday. He's a straight shooter who's humor is very honest.
8.5/10

Like what? Stand up specials? They’ve been giving comedians that since they started streaming.
ricky owes his career to his accent, ig be was american, no one would care
dave is better, but its funny when he acts all high and mighty despite getting famous for depicting every possible black stereotype, except wearing a dress
>ricky owes his career to his accent
He got his start from a british radio talkshow and later went on to make the original (superior) british version of The Office.
Ricky Gervais hasn't done anything good in years. Latest standup was fricking awful.
Dave Chappelle is one of the greatest stand ups of all time, and although some of the content of his latest special was a bit trite, he still delivers it better than anyone else can and is absolutely hilarious.
Ricky Gervais isn't funny and has never been funny, things he has either featured in or created have been entertaining in spite of him e.g. XFM.
Chappelle used to be funny but I haven't watched much modern stuff beyond the 'offensive' trans shit. I'm in support of vocal opponents to trans ideology regardless.
They’re both funny, I probably prefer Gervais to Chapelle. I wish they would give the trans stuff a break though, not because I necessarily disagree with them, but because it’s starting to become their entire personalities and it’s quickly wearing thin.
A friend made me watch Gervais’ previous stand up. It was shit. It was basically 90 minutes of him strawmanning and re-enacting his twitter arguments. Trite as hell. I think the other one did some joke about crackheads a while ago.
There are comedians who can still be funny after getting old and rich but clearly these two aren't one of them. Everything I've seen of their recent work has been lazy "transgressive" slop that panders to facebook boomers and crucially, isn't funny.
while he's not terrible by any means, i can't think of a single gervais joke or scene from his shows that had me laughing as hard as some shit in the chappelle show
Chapelle strongly named the israelite with his last SNL special, which made every israelite I know at work (a lot since I'm in accounting) seethe for literal weeks straight which was awesome. Gervais is ridiculously unfunny.
inb4 edgyhate
They have made me laugh at several points. I don't know them.

Found the seething troony.

they're both buttholes who have been right about some things and wrong about others
Ricky is based for reminding religious people that there is no afterlife.

Where were you before you were born? Is there a pre-life?

Both cool, they triggered millons

He wore a dress in Robin Hood Men in Tights.
Gervais is an international treasure.
Chappelle is a has-been.
I like them until they start to talk even slightly too deep or poke fun at my political viewpoint through their "jokes."

troony shit was funny. It's not offensive it's the truth.

Chappell is legit fun and brought America together after 9/11.
Gervais is an atheist who is too busy loving the scent of his own anus to be funny.
Chappelle went to shit after he started pandering to the low IQ joe Rogan chud audience because you is incapable of writing good jokes apparently
A friend made me watch Gervais’ previous stand up. It was shit. It was basically 90 minutes of him strawmanning and re-enacting his twitter arguments. Trite as hell. I think the other one did some joke about crackheads a while ago.
