For Kathleen Kennedy to finger herself while pretending she's the main character of all of George Lucas' stories.

Actually fingering and penetration-adjacent acts appeal to the male gaze so a true feminist like Kathleen limits herself to tickling her clit.

the frickup was someone halfway through deciding she was a deuteragonist then leaning on a redemption where she takes over all of Indy's work that was so badly received they had to cut it

I once heard that if you're writing a story and you write your characters into a corner, the thing to do is to have a man with a gun walk into the room.

That, but it's somehow two and a half hours long.

you put jyn next to these sci ops? she is a good girl and the movie was the last decent star wars movie with a normal female protagonist you will ever see.

Its real. Its the forgettable chase scene in the middle of the movie. Whats ironic is theyre having this discussion while getting chased by her mess she got them all in and shes claiming shes self sufficient and resourceful kek

Because Scarlett O'Hara acted like a total b***h the entire movie while getting away with it and it being presented as a good thing? Because Mrs. Brisby wasn't afraid of some dumb owl because she's so brave and strong? Because Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley were natural badasses who knew how to fight and survive and didn't need to be trained? Because Lady Kaede defeated male warriors with her physical fighting prowess? They are nothing like star wars girl and indiana jones girl.

uh no chud actually it's exactly the same thing because those characters all have veganas (which doesn't make them women chud because sex isn't gender)

        >Because Scarlett O'Hara acted like a total b***h the entire movie while getting away with it
But she doesnt? Brett literally gets tired of her shit and leaves her in one of the most iconic scenes of cinema. And the movie ends with Scarlet willing to work harder to get him back.
Also she is a great character, probably the best ever written female. Starts like an average pampered prostitute, then war pushes her to adapt to the new environment and becomes cruel and manipulative, her pussy being a dangerous asset, what started as a mean to defend her family ended as unnecessarily cruelty, she realizes she was wrong too fricking late, loses the man she really loved.

She grows not only once, but twice in the movie. One out of need, second out of inner reflection. She doesnt get what she wants at the end, but she wins her new found understanding that will let her work her mistakes.

How the frick does she gets away with it?

You lack the qualifications to exercise free will.

I dont. Self reflection is the most important piece of having an actual free will. The fact you dont realize that Scarlet acquires it by the end of the movie, shows that you simply cant relate.

not just leaves to die. i could understand running away or woman fleeing in fear. she actively locked door behind her after wit essing them murder people and locked indy in with them to die. they didnt use guns on him for some reason but she set him up to die.

Her locking Indy in with 2 guys with guns and the mystery meat kid handcuffing the goon to drown underwater were some fricking coldblooded shit. Was their intention to try and make them seem like badasses? If so they failed horribly.

I genuinely just think these female characters are just holdovers from when the type of character outlined in the OP would be put in her place or "saved" by the male lead. If people are just copying old works they probably don't even realize what's missing.

Supposed to be a replacement for Indy by copying many of his traits/backstory. Except she never really has the moments of growth Indy has, and she's just generally insufferable and somewhat outright evil, compared to Temple Indy who was just kind of shady but still likable.

they want to write women to be like the charismatic male leads of the past

but women fundamentally misunderstand what makes a good male hero, all they see is the aggression, impulsiveness, and disrespect for authority

they don't see that all those things are backed by duty, self-sacrifice, and most importantly ACCOUNTABILITY. women don't understand accountability at all

so when Feeble Walled-Bitch's character is obnoxious, keeps fricking everything up, and doesn't experience any consequences, that's how women think men live

Indiana Jones in the other movies (the good ones) often goes into situations without a plan but he always suffers for it before he ultimately triumphs

you can't show a woman suffer and be accountable for her decisions, because that's misogyny
