It felt like Taub was going to kill himself instead
That was the whole point, that it didn't make sense. Sometimes people just kill themselves, and there's no warning, because they never asked for help or gave any warning signs, they were just in their heads dealing with a whole lot of depression and shit and peaced themselves out of life.
It might have been the message but you can see how that message felt cheapened by the fact the actor just dipped and they had to find a reason to write him out
