Ghost Machine

Will you miss seeing Johns, Tomasi, Manapul, Frank, Hitch, and Fabok at DC or are you glad they're gonna do creator-owned full-time?

I'm not excited about what they announced so far, but anything is better than being stuck making Big 2 slop.

I'll take Big 2 slop over the inconsequential and uninspired royalty bait that exists primarily to be sold as a screenplay rather than be a good comic which all creatorslop these days are

        >inconsequential and uninspired royalty bait
        >implying this isn't what every modern big two comic is

Oh that's exactly what the big 2 is but at least I can read characters I like in inconsequential royalty bait instead of the comic book equivalent of a Chinese knockoff donut steel

Idk anon, seeing superman's son taking it in the ass doesn't sound like a fun read. I'll take my chances with original uninspired ideas before picking up Big 2 psuedo-political slop.

I only would miss Bryan Hitch. Everyone else is past their prime or “who?“.

Besides all the stuff is boring.

It's not gonna be strictly capeshit so that's a relief but I dislike seeing more universe settings period

The only one that sounds fun is the Tomasi one.

Something about setting out to make a "universe" from the get-go always screams soulless to me.

I agree it sounds more like pushing numbers. Or paint by numbers.

No. Because Ray is still blacklisted whole Johns still gets comic work.

I’m going to be honest, most those superheroes/characters sound really really boring.

I don’t know why Geoff Johns expects people to fall in love with these bland sounding characters.

I know he and the rest of the crew are just looking for Hollywood to pick up the universe/characters. But I don’t see why Hollywood would care about those dull characters.

I feel like Johns is still stuck in 2003 of what is cool.

The older Johns gets, the swarthier he looks.

    >Trying to be Mark Millar without the batshit insanity that is Mark Millar
This one sounds doomed before it even gets off the ground

I must stress as well that while Millar is insane and probably licks goats. His books are batshit and meant to hook comic fans looking for edgy material first. It's just that it's easy to take the core concept of his books and make them way more palatable in movies like Wanted, Kick Ass and Kingsman with a talented adaption team (So less "This is my face when I'm fricking you in the ass").

Ghost Machine all seems way too boring and directly pitched at movie executives first than comic fans and that's where it's going to stumble.

Lmao what? You haven't read a Millar book since Kick-Ass 3.

Didn't he tone down the edge after being horrified by Man of Steel?

Question: is Ghost Machine and Mad Ghost the same thing? Are they both some company or just some sort of weird piece for image comics?

Image Comics is ironically with all that they’ve done with the way of being indie is actually so much more than any other brand, except their equals IDW and Dark Horse

Mad Ghost was Johns' previous production company and Image imprint. If I understood the wording correctly, everyone who's part of Ghost Machine will own a piece of each other's character and setting. That's basically it

I won't miss Brian "Everybody is floating in zero gravity because I can't draw movement to save my life" Hitch in the slightest. Glad he's contained to shitty creator-owned slop
Seriously nobody can look at this and tell me it's good art. Which fricking direction is up or down? Is he jumping? floating? flying? My only complaint is that more shitty artists are getting off books I want to read and quarantining themselves to creatorslop. PLEASE take Humberto Ramos and Land with you guys

Kinda liked Junkyard Joe after the storytime.

Would check The Rocketfellers to see if it fills in the hole for comfy super family vibes that DC left in me after kicking Tomasi off Superman.
