Wait, what? Isn't that kind of obvious? I guess once you and your child are older and your child itself has become an adult you could ask your child for emotional support but earlier? What kind of emotional support could a fricking 12 year old give you? And why would you make a child responsible for your happiness?
>Wait, what? Isn't that kind of obvious?
Not to my mother.
An 11 year old boy listening to his mother cry about his dad forcing her to sleep with other men never stood a chance.
That guy didn't even have it bad. He wasn't left to fend for himself at that age. Learning not only how to read on his own, but math, cook, laundry, and not feel alone, all by himself, as a child. Any child capable of raising a somewhat decent human by themselves, has every right to feel confident. And frick all those undeserving, that try to take it.
What the frick are you on about. Most people need support to do anything in life.
Have you ever read a non-fiction book? They start with just pages upon pages of thanking people who helped them.

All it's going to do, is feed the need for Hollywood to dedicate resources to keeping you engaged, while your mental well-being continues to erode, and those not seen, continue to be deserted.

stop, using, commas, incorrectly, you autistic self absorbed, woe is me, moron. No one can hear the voice in your head that is randomly pausing, nor do they care that you need to catch your breath after every 4 words. Your stupid, unneeded and uncalled for comments belie this bullshit about trying to "make others aware of their blessings". You are very clearly bitter. Anyone with half a brain could tell this from these meager few exchanges. You are not so hidden, not so coy.
There are people who go through hell and come out angels and then there are people like you, (who I would gather probably didn't go through as rough a time as you are putting on) and come out deranged, stupid, selfish, pugnacious and all around repulsive in manner and spirit.
Your struggles have nothing to do with your worth, you fricking moron. Christ wasn't holy because the cross was heavy, the crown sharp, or the lashes so vicious. Throw yourself off a cliff.
>half of the entire point of the entire show is how Lorelei is kinda fricked up in the head and is a generally shitty person
insane how you can miss this
I thought the point of the show was that the mom was a prostitute and a frick up and that she was a bad influence on her kid who was also a prostitute but not old enough t frick up as bad as her yet.
Sort of but most people saw it as a wonderful independent single mom raising a cool and hip daughter in a quaint New England town where people mainly had quaint New England town problems. Problema such as: "my rich parents wants to pay for my daughter's college education and sponsor her Yale application even though I want her to succeed on her own" and "the handsome business owner is love with me but I'm a single mom and I have responsibilities" and so on.
It's not a realistic show. IRL Lorelei would most likely be meth smoking prostitute. You do not become a hotel manager as a 16 yo runaway with a baby.
IRL Rory even if she was as perfect as she is would not have the time to study to be a grade A student, participate in all the communal activities, have a social life with boyfriends AND watch every movie ever made with her mom while gobbling ominous amounts of pizzza.
>You do not become a hotel manager as a 16 yo runaway with a baby.
She wasn't a 16 yo runaway, she was getting help from her rich parents that whole time
That was Lorelei and Rory's whole conceit, that they Rory got where she was because she was a hard-working bookworm and Lorelei was a hard-working single mother but in reality Rory got into Yale because grandpa went to Yale and Lorelei was still getting help from her parents
It's a running theme that Lorelei grudgingly accepts some gibs from them, but she ran away and became a hotel manager while nursing a baby on her own.
Lorelei would've also easily made it by herself into an Ivy league college even if it wasn't Yale.
The hotel owner was basically Lorelai's adoptive mother. They used to live in a shed behind the inn. I think she's in one episode and then never mentioned again.
>IRL Rory even if she was as perfect as she is
Beneath the surface Rory was arguably the most imperfect character in the show..
There is the whole romantic situation with Dean, again and again dismissed him, until he became married and then she suddenly became interested in the "forbidden fruit".
The show didn't even make Dean's wife out to be a b***h or anything, Rory just had zero regards for her feelings and had an extremely entitled reasoning about the whole thing.
This entitlement was a recurring theme in the show, she is the opposite of Lorelei, when faced with resistance she would go to her grandparents and ask for money to solve the problems. When denied a job as a journalist, it's other peoples fault, because she wanted to be a journalist! so obviously she should be a journalist.
When she applies for her dream job, journalist of the New York Time (literally every since the first episode, Harvard + Journalist New York Times, had been the constant theme of her life), she is rejected.. But look how she handles obstacles in her life, when she get's knocked down, it's everyone else fault and they don't see what she is (wants); then she gives up.
She is a very well made and consistent character, she is an anti-hero.
I’m a guy and I unironically enjoy the Gilmore girls. It’s got good writing, good characters (for the most part) and can be pretty funny sometimes. The fact that it makes liberals seethe just makes me like it more.. saw another article a while back b***hing about how this show doesn’t have any black people in it
As a fak of the show I agree. Lorelei never properly faces tthe shit sje should for the things she does. She left that dude at the altar out of like nowhere and nobody is ever like "wow lorelie that was kind of a really shitty thing to do to another person"
Things didn't live up to the female hyper fantasy she had in her head. The fricked up thing is she didnt even taok to him and cut it off, she literally just grabbed Rory and drove off to hang out at a BnB for a weekend.
Here's what James Rolfe had to say about this situation
>As a curator of film I feel responsible to let you know. As much as I recommend Gilmore Girls, there are some scenes that contain racial stereotypes which aren't funny whatsoever. It was wrong back then and it's wrong now. So that's something as a word of precaution. But as a whole, it's a great show.
A few days ago they had a Gilmore Girls erotic fiction thread up on this board. They promised AI pictures. Did anyone deliver? Also, Bunheads was the superior show.
The show was terrible, and unfortunately my sisters watched it nonstop, mistaking "le clever quip with cultural reference" as smart writing. Honestly, it's actually a great example of terrible single-mother parenting. >mom is only 16 years older than daughter, so it's more of a sisterly relationship >they're also "best friends" which is the worst possible parenting dynamic >mom (whole damn town, really) treats daughter like perfect super-smart princess >rich grandparents ensure that no real hardships ever happen >daughter turns into absolute prostitute, ultimately getting knocked up in her 30s >add to this that she's got no direction and purpose, ergo the journalism career
And all because she didn't have a real mom or a dad at all.
Getting knocked up in your 30s is kind of the normal age though. Fertility goes downhill rapidly at 35+
I guess she didn't have a stable relationship with the father though? Didn't watch that far.
My name is Lorelai Gilmore. I was born to a ridiculously wealthy family. My parents provided me with my every need and want but also had basic expectations of me. So I hated them.
I proved my superiority to high society by being a teenage bawd who got pregnant at 16. My boyfriend was willing to do the right thing and go against his parents' wishes for an abortion in order to marry me. My father also planned on fast tracking him at his company in order for us to have a wildly successful family despite our huge mistake. And so I hated them. I refused the marriage because 16 is far too young to stop being a bawd.
I allowed my parents to help me through my pregnancy and the difficult first year of baby rearing. Then I ran away with my child and ghosted them for years. How did I survive as a penniless teenager with a baby? Girl power. Also, a wealthy woman who was a total stranger to me gave me a job and a free place to live at her luxury inn. She also quickly fast tracked me into being manager despite my total lack of qualifications.
The man who owns the local diner is my simp who does everything for me. But I only start a relationship with him after years of having several flings with other guys and exhausting all my other options. And so I treat him like crap.
My daughter had an almost fairytale upbringing where everyone in our small town loves her and helps support her. But she ultimately ends up being a failure later on in life largely due to my influence because I tried to be her friend instead of her mother and I helped infect her with my sense of entitlement. She ends up a single mother herself with a failing career and will most likely have to live off her inheritance to support her child. Thereby diluting and destroying the fortune my father, my grandfather, and my great grandfather helped build.

Did you at least get a cut of the take?
I got fewer beatings than my brother
Your dad was just making sure there was food on the table, it's not his fault your mom was being lazy and didn't want to work the corners.
He was more of a "dominant cuck?" not a pimp, afaik.
He did make a decent legal living.
I'm sorry to make light of that, but man that's definitely a new one for me "dominant cuck"
You know, kinda like Ralphie from the Sopranos was a dominant peggee
Janet was beating that boy's box, but he still had that glorified crew terrified of what he'd do next.
Wow. My mom told me she lost the will to live when my dad left her and I thought I had it hard.
