Give me ONE reason why the next D&D movie shouldn't be a comedy horror or straight up horror set in Ravenloft.
BTW, I will not accept answers that don't agree with me.

Don't look up what Hasbro did to the Weathermay-Foxgrove twins.
W-What did they do?
Let's just say Hasbro got a nice check from Larry Fink.
Why
Actually, don't bother replying.
>Why
http://2dCinemaphile/wiki/Weathermay-Foxgrove_Twins#In_5th_Edition
>They have also been race-swapped for some reason
Make it stop...
I like how they changed the dead parent to the father for more strong powerful fierce (and/or brave) women.
>A black father appearing in their children's lives
I only take this fantasy world belief so far.
TIRESOME
N
These two were white in the original ravenloft
I miss when sweaty nerds ran DnD, I fricking hate all these homosexual drama kids that hijacked our hobby.
Sweaty nerd here, we are the ones still creating. They just want to perform in front of everyone so they put no effort in.
because audiences aren't prepared for that level of kino, and don't associate D&D with dark fantasy/horror, only generic high fantasy
also Dark Sun would be cooler
God, just IMAGINE if we got a high-budget Dark Sun movie in the late 1990s with the same VFX team that did the bugs for Starship Troopers in charge of the thri-kreen.
it would have been unimaginable kino. too bad it won't happen now with Dune being superficially similar to overshadow it
DnD x Mad Max is great, but hard to make it feel like it isn't highly derivative.
>it's in a desert so it's mad max
Just like my favorite post-apocalyptic movie, Aladdin.
Wasn't Dark Sun more obviously D&D meets John Carter?
I remember loving the first six books of that series, but not so much the next four, and stopped. Did they get better again?
They're pretty good as a whole. There are parts were it can get slow
isn't ravenloft the one that opens telling you to NOT make your vampires vampiric, your heroes heroic, your magic magical, etc., because muh subverting expectations? imagine unironically consuming anything produced by wizards in today's day and age, literally have to be a millennial fanboy with zero capacity to do anything other than consoom blindly the things you grew up with. sad.
The worst part is the book tells you to ask your players about any phobias, traumas or triggers before you create an adventure so you don't upset people.
In a fricking horror game.
I cannot imagine role playing with anyone this gay.
>the absolute state of modern RPGs
How did it come to this? These people deserve to be bullied by old school nerds.
I remember growing up as a nerd and wishing more women were into the hobby. talk about wishing upon a monkey's paw.
It’s Dungeons & DRAGONS not Virgins & Vampires
What about vampire dragons
The next D&D movie should be a television series based on this
Sydney Sweeny as Goldmoon
I remember being hyped for the animated movie, then very disappointed.
They should do something about the satanic panic back in the 80's and involve D&D and tabletop games are for nerd gays
>Verification not required.
Are the D&D stories worth reading? Recommend some if so
No, it was just a way to grow the brand.
Lazy fans always say shit like this.
>Lazy fans
>fans of the Dungeons & Dragons brand
I really don't know where you're going with this.
We're talking about the novels not the core rule books.
Which setting's novels would you like to discuss
I haven't read any of the novels, I wonder what the first one was?
This was the the 1st one.
Thank you kindly~
Playing Dark Alliance.
Yo frick the thieves guild & their fireballs!
Seeing stuff like this just makes me happy for some reason
I roll for BLEH
Is that Trump?
What's this from? Looks interesting.
Planescape, ie the d&d version of What Dreams May Come
Is it set in Hell or whatever the equivalent is?
>Is it set in Hell or whatever the equivalent is?
It's set all over the (brace yourself, here comes a big nono word) multiverse, but the majority takes place in the various dimensions where dead souls end up. Imagine if Heaven was accessible through a magic doorway, and living people started moving there because land was cheap, and now there are so many living people in the various afterlifes that they're a significant population of that dimension.
Sounds like immigration in the EU
Something very few official products take advantage of is the idea that mortals native to the afterlife dimensions are treated differently according to the game rules and count as "angels/demons/etc" for the purpose of summoning them, so a wizard might be trying to summon a powerful demon and accidentally pull up a cranky peasant who raises evil cows.
That sounds pretty kino actually
There shouldn't be a next one.
Would you like to see a new cast or the old cast returning?
>he thinks there'll be another movie after the first one flopped
WOTC is broke and running on the fumes of MTG, if there's another D&D media coming out its gonna be a video game riding off the success of BG3, but this time they'll try to find a vehicle for stuffing micro transactions like they did with D&D Beyond or whatever the frick it was called. I guarantee you the corpos at WOTC are pissed they didn't predict BG3 doing so well so they couldn't butt in and cram DLC and microtransaction opportunities in there
>WOTC is broke and running on the fumes of MTG
Grim considering that's the only portion of Hasbro to be turning a profit according to their recent earnings report.
Why don't they just make D&D good again and then people will buy it? It's not hard.
No one's gonna buy d&d. A vast majority of the paying player base will at most buy the PHB and maybe DM book and monster manual, and that group is a spit in the ocean compared to the people who just pirate the pdf. Even during all the previous editions that people considered good, D&D was never a successful business. 5e is it's most popular and best selling edition and it's still not making money, because unlike TCGs where you sell .0000001 cent pieces of cardboard for 1000000000x mark up, it's not as easy to make money off of. RPGs just aren't a good business model
Just let us play as dick girl characters and include dick girl artwork in the manual. Done.
I don't know where to start with D&D story books
You can go release order or whatever setting that pleases you.
I'm interested in Ravenloft to see how they handle horror
pull up your big boy pants and read time of the twins
It would be fricking amazing.
Thread anons here may appreciate https://archive.4plebs.org/hr/thread/4591807/
>All those hot big breasted women
God I miss the old days
