If you have no health insurance and need immediate money it will give you access to the cash needed at the expense of eventually losing your house. If you don't have any children that might work for you.

Usually just a israelite scam that allows boomers to take money out of their house and spend it on irrelevant shit. It also means that when the boomers inevitably die, their children either have to start paying the mortgage, with higher interest rates, on the house or the israelite takes your childhood home.
Equity removal isn't always negative though, you can use it to pull money out of a house to put a deposit down on a second house, third house, so and so and so forth.

I know that feeling. My dad only works half the year, makes very good money and has the skills to do most practical jobs himself. Yet when the latch for the door broke, he went a year with a front door that was just open the whole time and constantly letting freezing cold wind in. The house is also a shit tip. The moment you walk in there's just empty packets of food and shit on every counter. No justification for it besides pure laziness especially because if I visit for any amount of time he'd ask me to clean it or do other jobs.

my parents owned two houses they purchased for frick all but hadn't yet paid off completely but my dad decided he would rather chase a prostitute than have a family and they split up and sold the houses, just clearing the mortgage with a modest profit. Now one of the houses is worth three times what they sold it for and the other one is fricking 8 times what they sold it for.

Yeah no. You're basically risking losing your home at very old age and/or sickness just because your country doesn't give a single shit about its people. Some additional cash is great but you're playing with fire.

if you're a liberal and don't have any family to continue your legacy, a reverse mortgage is basically selling your house to the israelites to spend its value while you're still alive, but you still get to live in it, then they get your house after you die since you have no children to leave it to.

        Anonymous

Except if you're still alive after they finish paying you they take the house and steal everything inside it.

if you're a moron who took a monthly payment on your reverse mortgage then you deserve to be kicked out, though I doubt that's how they work in the first place, and they definitely have no claim to anything you own inside the house.

they're tools for converting your homes equity into income. This is okay if you don't want to leave your home to anyone. But imagine you're the bank and someone is basically living in a house that you own 90% or more.. you would want them to take care of the house.. what if they don't? What if they can't? what happens to old people who don't plan and NEED the reverse mortgage to pay essentials?

      - Be boomer
      - Get house for cheap, lots of spare cash for me!
      - Ruin housing market, lots of spare cash for me!
      - Boomers have reverse mortgaged, lots of spare cash for me!
      - Children get no house (the only useful asset to inherit, arguably more so than cash) and are left with a ruined housing market so they don't get the same opportunity to buy a house.
      - House goes to some israeli corporate entity that will make it rent-only for the rest of time (you will own nothing)

I would spend more on insurance, PMI, maintenance, and property taxes every month if I bought than I spend renting a one bedroom apartment. Plus I'd be locked to the area unless I wanted to get killed on closing costs. Maybe I'm just spooked by having lost the family home in the 2008 crash, but housing doesn't seem like a great investment to me. The extra money I'd spend buying a house can be invested into the market instead, which historically appreciates quicker than housing does. Only benefit from home ownership I can see is that it's a leveraged investment.

Do you understand what The United States of America is? And why we don't call it the Native America Tribal Confederation or some other such shit? I realize that part of leftism is pretending that nations and borders are a meaningless concept, but you should at least have a basic understand of what they are.

Why is the turn of the 19th century the correct cutoff point for the legitimacy of a nation's citizenship policy?

The cutoff point was the instant the founders of the nation died. After that you abide by their intent, otherwise it's literally not the nation they founded. If you want stop hiding behind pilpul and come out and claim that this is no longer the USofA that's fine, but that's going to open a big can of worms that israelites and brown third worlders will simply never be prepared to deal with.

A followup: who counts as the legitimate founder of Russia?
The founders of the Russian Federation?
                The founders of the USSR?
The founders of the Russian provincial government?
The founders of the Russian Empire?
                The founders of Tsarist Russia?
Would you be fine with an open borders policy if the government voted to rename the USA to the American United States and ratified a constitution identical to ours but with an open borders provision?
Your obsession with founders is beyond fricking moronic. Criticize policy on the merits, not some idiotic obsession with muh Washington. I hate my fellow Americans so much. The founders fricking hated each other.

"the government" would be toppled for the attempt, as it is clearly not the will of the (legitimate american) people, but if you think you can win the civil war it would take to do such a thing, you're welcome to try.

this isn't some hypothetical or recursive thinking Black persontest, anon. your particular hypothetical question is so absurd that it doesn't warrant genuine thought. there is no historical precedent for one side of a divided nation suddenly deciding to let the other side finish off killing said nation in an official democratic capacity with no pushback. if "the government" suddenly did a complete 360 and walked away from the intent of the nation's founders in such a way, it would immediately be considered illegitimate, fraudulent and violence would ensue.

you might have an interesting thought experiment if the US was founded on the concept of open borders to begin with, but neither it nor any other existing nation on earth was, because as mentioned earlier, "diverse" societies that freely allow invaders in inevitably, at a 100% historical rate, fail disastrously and cease to exist.

Americans hate any concept of government-funded healthcare so the wealth lifecycle involves giving your life savings away to hospitals once you're in your 70s and will necessarily have drastic health issues (as all elderly folk do). A reverse mortgage allows you to trade in the equity on your home for more money to give to hospitals, without having to move and leave your home.

American healthcare is still 10x times better than ur government funded healthcare. Reminder that you slave away and give half ur paycheck to a corrupt government and then allow third world shitskins to use ur healthcare despite not paying any taxes on it. God willing, you will become elderly one day. You will incur hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical care expenses every year, as all blessed with long life necessarily do. You will then have to piss away your entire life savings until you become poor enough for medicaid (That's a $3000 asset limit if you're married, I believe).

Medicare only covers the first 20 days of a nursing home, and partial coverage for the next few months. Then it's all on you. I hope your children are willing to give you full time care once you need it.

                Anonymous

There's different types of Medicare coverage. It doesn't cover long term nursing care but depending on what coverage you have it will mostly cover hospital stays, prescriptions, and routine doctor visits.

pretty sure one of the stipulations of the home-stealing loan is that it doesn't have to be paid back until you either die or move out (or you're a deadbeat who doesn't upkeep the normal payments required in home ownership like taxes and insurance), so just don't die, move, or be a deadbeat lmao.

the way they really israelite old people is that they go after them if they ever stay in a nursing home or hospital for too long, e.g. convalescent care.
