Actually you need to give a reason for the opposite

Also define how Miles grows the identity beyond having black skin

No he doesn't because it's already happened. You need to give a reason why it shouldn't have happened that actually makes sense

This doesn't make any sense. If you did it, give a reason for why it was done and why that is a good thing.

Okay I'm going to kill off Miles so he never appears in anything anymore, then you have to give a reason for why I should bring him back

miles has powers so far removed from being a spiderman there's no reason for him to not be something else

if he wants to be spiderman then he can go be it in a different city like all the other spiders did. But he stays in NY and the towns not big enough for them both

You absolutely can make a legacy character work and be impactful, look at Green Lantern, the Flash, Ghost Rider and Ant-man. The thing is to take a legacy, they really need to stand on their own for a while, being the only one. Miles really didn't have time for that before Secret Wars put him into being one of the Spider-men. And instead of giving him distance, they intermingle them, so he really doesn't develop much on his own. Every problem he can run to Peter who has either dealt with it before, or knows someone who has, he never really gets to shine on his own. He really needs to relocate, or be the War Machine to Spider-man's Iron Man, someone with a similar power set, but a vastly different approach to its use. Ironically they had that dynamic going with Kaine, but then just threw that out to focus on Miles.

What’s the growth here? Miles just showed up and copied his name and likeness then asked for permission afterwards (which an in character Peter would never give). Even his literal honest to god clones had the decency to come up with a different name

The only way that superheroes identities should be passed down is from the previous holder mentoring the next one.
Not some random fricker coming out of nowhere and hijacking a legacy.

Identities should not be shared unless it's some interesting St Germain shit.

because is the most unoriginal shit ever. I get the adimiration, I get that they might share powers, buuut what hero just want to be a copycat and not get at least their own identity in the costume, let alone in the name, you are just following the shadow of your favorite hero and faking to be him. Is unrealistic. And yes you can say that "but he is from the universe frick you so we have 500 spidermans, 300 ironmans 500 thor, 300 superman etc..." but you and me know that the only reason why this new guy is assuming the same name and identity of the old hero, is because the new guy is not strong enough to build a name for himself, so he needs an old ip and famous brand attached to it, to call in viewers. Miles could have been as well an original new hero, instead of leeching to the past, but is clear that writers knew that it wouldn't have had the same success, and marvel is unable to come up with new good heroes anymore

      >it wouldn't have had the same success, and marvel is unable to come up with new good heroes anymore
I truly wonder what was the last they had a completely original character that didn't originate from someone else's comic, isn't a rehash of a pre-existing character, and wasnt immediately made or to be quickly sucked into the MCU. Seems like all these new and young heroes trying to be relatable and represent something combined with the veterans around makes for this stakeless slurry of blandness you presently see in the comics and MCU even I can't properly describe.

Would you rather they call Miles Spydr? The Amazing Web? The Tarantula? As long as it's not Spider-man, he won't be considered a cheap knock off?

Would you rather he not have spider powers at all and have different bug powers that set him apart from Spider-man?
