The wrong Scott brother died
As bad as Ridley is Tony was far worse.
tony made that train movie tho. absolutely sickening kino.
CAESAR DO NOT CROSS IT DO NOT!
This is it boys. We're about to find out if we're in the good timeline or the bad one.
In the good timeline, Napoleon is the Hollywood epic that we've all clamoured for for years, that reignites a new golden age of large scale period dramas. And Gladiator 2 is the first big period drama following it to confirm that Napoleon wasn't a one off.
The two films end as a magnificent end to Ridley's filmmaking career and cement him as one of the all-time greats.
In the bad timeline, Napoleon is a poorly written piece of shit that's only worth watching for the battle scenes that are given almost zero context, as the film instead focuses on Napoleon's relationship with Josephine.
Gladiator 2 is an obvious cash-grab sequel that feels like a made for television sequel of the 90s and has Mescal acting as a shitty imitation of Russel Crowe.
Ridley is so antagonistic towards the response of these films that he immediately churns out sequels for his other films including Kingdom of Heaven, Black Hawk Down and The Duellists, thus ruining his legacy forever
>The Duellists 2
Joseph Conrad must have dozens of great short stories that Ridley could adapt, instead of relying on shitty writers
Pretty based take. But as far Ridley Scott's films go. Kingdom of Heaven is a great movie (the dc that is). But if you look and read up on the life of the actual Balian de Ibelin it makes you wonder what Ridley was smoking when he wrote the script. Balian's life quite honestly deserves an accurate retelling.
Ridley doesn't write scripts
moron take, we are in a bad timeline, but ridley is still goat
Napoleon will be fine, gladiator will be, at best, weird. Mostly I'm just worried about the color grading. He's starting to become Clint Eastwood if the Last Duel is of any indication. Just bleached and drab looking movies. I hope he doesn't go full-blue filter on Napoleon. IRL history deserves better.
>The Duellists
should make a film about 2 short squatemalans competing to build the best inground pool
>The Poollists
or maybe make them pajeets
U wot m8? They've been making war period dramas, they end up sucking dick because the director tries to get all artsy and gay with it. See 1917, Dunkirk, All Quiet on the Western Front (not Hollywood but imported by Hollywood)
In the end you get a confused piece of shit that thinks it's an arthouse movie but still tries to be a le epic action movie. It frickin sucks.
All those films were great
Joaquin only has hits when he plays "literally me" roles. You already know the outcome.
>Pedro Pascal
k i won't watch then
Why's everyone filthy? Looks like no one even maintains their armour. Romans had running water and plumbing.
They also bathed by coating themselves in olive oil, then scraping shit off (this shit from gladiator champions was processed into perfume), their bathrooms had communal wiping rags, and they had rooms specifically built for puking. Even if they looked clean, Romans were filthy.
Another fricking unecessary sequel. The original ended beautifully, but they need to milk the life out of everything so they come up with this straight to DVD shit.
As much as I love anything Roman, I'll skip it. I doubt it's even possible to make a good film nowadays.
Why?
Nice, the Severan period is ripe for adaptations
Gladiator is my favorite movie and Denzel is my favorite actor but he doesn't fricking belong in a Gladiator movie. What the frick?
I didn't like even the first one but glad to see Scott lives long enough to ruin even this
good white twink goy and his team of diverse bad-asses defeat the white incel schizos. wow i cant wait for this one.
>ni**er legionnaire
dropped
>Juba returning
Okay, i'm sold
