I'm 37 and have been Cinemaphile off and on since 2003 when I was a freshman in college. I've never heard of linkara, I have heard of nostalgia critic but have never watched any of his videos so I wouldn't know what he looked like.
Not everyone watches people rant online.
Some people are too busy ranting on Cinemaphile to watch others rant in their videos.
That being said, I think a difference should be drawn between 'recognize' and 'have watched a video by'

Linkara is the comic equivalent of Nostalgia Critic and is a huge lolcow. Nostalgia Critic has reviewed animated movies although his focus is usually on live action. Both are the subject of various jokes by Oneyplays, a popular gaming channel ran by yoytube animators who descend from newgrounds.
