Imagine if we actually lived in a modern American mostly white country that respected our European roots, took pride in the national anthem and had reverence for it before most major events, had immigrants who respected our parent culture and we in turn took an interest in and respected theirs as subcultures, and felt united as one to further our own people as a collective.

And rally them against foreign invasion. It's not an obligation of Americans to "instill a sense of togetherness" with millions of people illegally entering their southern border. Americans have voted against immigration in every election since at least the 60s and every year a few million more unassimilable foreigners come and change their country into something they don't want. The best way to have a sense of togetherness is to have a common people.
