they gave rouge bangs? I mean I love it but I was planning on "stealing" rouge's design for my own thing and the addition of bangs was how I was gonna avoid CR
The show is rather bland and the final fight dragged on for way too long, as if the showrunners didn't know what they were doing with it, but it has its great moments.
Key highlights:
>Shadow is actually cool again, only beats the crap out of Sonic when he literally destroys the universe, is willing to help him and shows some genuine care, tried very hard to save him in the end. Took the chaos prism tho... is he just trying to protect it? Or use it perhaps for... Maria? Even if that's the case, this is the real Shadow and I'm very happy with it.
>Nine. Nine is cool. Is obviously inspired by Evil Tails from "Where was my hero". I know that the artist that made that comic disappeared off the end but I wonder how they feel knowing that their works ended up being an inspiration for an official Sonic show. Facial expressions were wild. One moment came to mind when Nine told Sonic that the only reason he continues to fight is that he wouldn't be able to live with himself otherwise. That went hard. I like how Nine calls out Sonic on BS about wanting to help him when he actually just wants Tails back and kept on treating Nine just as a Tails reskin and not his own person.
>Sonic. I like him and I kinda don't. We go back to an older version of him. More reckless, cokcy, egotistical. And it works! And he fricks up by being too careless, and then we watch as he tries everything to fix shit back up. What caught me off guard was how manipulative he was towards Nine.
>We get Robotropol- I mean New Yolk City...
And uh, well that's about it that stood out for me.
>Is obviously inspired by Evil Tails from "Where was my hero". I know that the artist that made that comic disappeared off the end but I wonder how they feel knowing that their works ended up being an inspiration for an official Sonic show
Prime was awfully similar to that fan story, but I think the similarities were most likely a coincidence. From what I've understood, official authors are often legally advised to avoid reading fan fiction about their works. If they end up making something that resembles a fanfic that they've read, they might end up sued. And the Sonic franchise already has some bad history involving copyrights and lawsuits. They've got reasons to be be super careful on this matter, which is why I don't think they'd deliberately make something that similar to a fan story.
>God, the Animation was gorgeous and the Fight Choreography... *Chef's Kiss* - referring to Sonic Prime
Uhhh no it fricking wasn't. It was above Sonic Boom at least, but definitely nowhere near Teen Titans and Generator Rex levels of good.
Sonic Prime did about 2 things out of 10 right.
Squash and Stretch (which diminished the impact of the hits) 1 out of 12 animation principles done right.
and the fast-paced creative jumps, kicks, dodges on the level of Spiderman, HOWEVER it lacked everything else.
Good camera handling.
Readable action
The other 11/12 animation techniques
Impact. Kind of hard to do impact when you overuse squash and stretch to the point everything looks like rubber bouncing off of each other. There's no bones in there to crack and break.

So they try to rely on the camera shaking and ... not even visual effects or audio cues typical of Japanese cartoons, so they try to rely on the camera shaking and camera speed, but that can only get so far.
That's it, without detailing all 12 principles of animation and ways to use the camera.
The choreography is good I agree, the choreography is one step above the usual cartoons especially without how many moves they cram in there, but the problem is 0 readability and good animation. While Teen Titans and Generator Rex, Totally Spies, ATOM, Action Man, TMNT 2003's, Ben 10's action seems slower by comparison, it's READABLE. With Sonic Prime you have to slow the frick down frame by frame at certain points to see what's going on. They could have used a lot of slow-down techniques that Generator Rex did, because those slow-down techniques would actually have what to slow down on, 60 FPS, if this shitty 3D show's characters are even animated at 60 FPS and not 30 or cut on rendering farm budget.
Your frames if not ordered correctly can have too many frames in them to the point they look like liquids and liquids don't have bones.
did we watch the same fricking show? dude, if this is shit to you, what the FRICK is going to satisfy you? a lot of it was feature quality, what more do you even want??
Just watched the last episode and I think you guys are too harsh on it. I do admit that the fights drag on forever, I'm pretty sure that the show would have been much better with like half the episodes, maybe even less, but it certainly isn't the abomination some people pretend it is.
It’s an absolute abomination. I swear to god Sonic Boom must have had more set design than this garbage, to think anyone on god’s green earth could have been this fricking lazy when designing a 3 season show. It’s a legitimate insult to cgi animation.
>when designing a 3 season show
But this is what I mean: it's not bad because it's bad, it's bad because it has too many episodes.
It's a completely fair criticism, of course you don't have to like a show if you feel that like half of it is irrelevant filler, it's not your job to fix something that is clearly unpolished, but my point is that if I ignore the filler I like the rest. I think there's a difference between "you'd have to remove half the episodes to get something nice out of this" and "there's absolutely nothing here."
This. It’s why I said earlier in this thread that this show has great moments, but it could have done without that very long battle. They either had no idea what they were doing or they had something else planned and couldn’t do it so they filled the last season with so many fight scenes.
This show imo, at least has more to offer than Underground. I enjoyed at least some aspects of it. And since I didn’t mention it earlier, I also love Mangey. An actual skrunkly
Sorry but you need to wait 10 years to be allowed to praise Sonic Prime, when the 8 year olds who watched it now will be old enough to post here
Has Sonic ever had a bad cartoon, I mean TRULY bad?
Even Underground has its moments.
Sex with Sonic
The hate boner Sonic fans have for this show is unnatural
the sonic fandom feeds off rage
it's how it keeps going
Unlike the Pokemon fandom that eats everything up because small kids are REALLY fricking standardless.

Frick, the market is worse than I thought rn
wtf all I get is sonic turning into a balloon

Anon, Shadow took the prism, so none of the morons can frick with it again. It's not that complex.

I just fricking told you; Generator Rex and Teen Titans 2003, DID YOU EVEN WATCH THOSE SHOWS I'M TALKING ABOUT?
>the same 4 completely empty stock locations and 5 characters
>“feature quality”
Do amerimutts really?
but definitely nowhere near Teen Titans Go and Generator Rex levels of good.
Fixed.
I still want to frick that bird
Wave exists and you want to frick that thing?
Wave a shit. Generic bimbo with a beak.
Too bad that's 90% of the show.
The fight choreography was dog shit. I spent the final episodes skipping the fights against those copy pasted robots.
