There's a difference. If you look at The Sight, it's very subtle visual effects because the woman isn't in the reflection. (Because she's a ghost.) I guess it's a composited shot. They thing about Rey scene is the artificiality of it. That's what tickles the brain. The Citizen Kane shot is masterful but you can intuit where the camera is.
Over the years I've started to get kind of sus that a lot of moviemakers are ripping off Paul Anderson movies. Back in the 90s, a lot of movie directors ripped off anime. Even The Simpsons was doing shots clearly copying "mature" action anime films. So sometimes I see shots in a movie, and I'm like, "Huh... I feel like I've seen something like this before."
Star Wars: Rogue One's ending is a copy of the ending of Pompeii, one of Anderson's lesser known (and less good) films. Of course Pompeii was itself copying Deep Impact, but Rogue One's ending is overtly based on Pompeii's take. Game of Thrones copied the movie in one episode, too. (Including paraphrasing dialogue.)

In my opinion, Rogue One was the most beautiful star wars film ever made.

I don't think it looks good though. The only shot that I like is the first pic with the sunset, which is hard to frick up in the first place. The rest of it looks like play-do, especially any shots with people in it.

Great choreography while shoot in movement with angle to hide the moving rig, and some cuts to show the actual bikes in movemento as to not break the illusion.

This old Russian Sherlock Holmes TV series is absolutely beautiful, puts western equivalents to shame when it comes to production design.
