Gods and Monsters

>Superman is the son of a Kryptonian Superman villain
>Batman is a Batman villain intended to be an inversion of Batman himself
>Wonder Woman is a New God unrelated to the Wonder Woman mythos and mostly lack clear parallels to Wonder Woman

    >lacks clear parallels to Wonder Woman
    >She's an exile from her mystical society
    >Her break with that society is over her love of an outsider man.
    >The Dark Twist is that in an inversion the supposedly benevolent gods of her pantheon are cruel, and treacherous.
Mary Marvel isn't Wonder Woman either. But I sure feel like this is a better elseworlds stand in.

      >The Dark Twist is that in an inversion the supposedly benevolent gods of her pantheon are cruel, and treacherous.
The problem with the whole "Red Wedding Twist" is that Darkseid and friends are so clearly evil that no amount of treachery or cruelty can match what the badguys where already doing on a daily basis.

Also, if in this universe the wedding is supposedly the signing of the truce between New Genesis and Apokolips, that means there was no baby exchange between Highfather and Darkseid, as shown by Orion being by Darkseid's, um, side. So, why is Orion wearing his New Genesis gear? Why is Barda with New Genesis if Scott Free was never in Apokolips to begin with? Did Scott Free get bored in New Genesis and went to Earth to dress up like a famous escape artist?

It also makes Orion and Bekka blood related assuming Darkseid and Highfather are still brothers.

Scott could very easily have been captured in a later battle/raid/adventure.
Clearly Orion was in line with the NG personality so his design (skin included) matched this personality.

If Orion had grown up on Apokalips under his father's influence, he probably wouldn't have the same attitude as he did growing up on New Genesis. He changed his face to blend in on New Genesis and make people more comfortable around him but if he had grown up on Apokalips, he wouldn't care about that as much. He should probably be more feral and monstrous-looking like Kalibak.

A lot of those characters didn't even have speaking roles. They were pretty much just cameos. If you change their appearance too much, they might not be easily recognizable to the audience. Or the character designers were just too lazy to come up with something new.

          >Did Scott Free get bored in New Genesis and went to Earth to dress up like a famous escape artist?
Maybe Highfather sent him to Earth at some point to get him out of harm's way if things were getting bad on New Genesis because of the war.

In most DC Trinity stories Wonder Woman is just "girl who is there" while the action focuses on Superman and Batman

Apparently she was supposed to be Zeus's daughter but New 52 happened.

Did they ever say why they made Bekka a redhead? Was it just to distinguish her visually from Diana? Jack Kirby originally drew Bekka with black hair.

Bekka's most influential story didn't came from Jack Kirby bu a Batman/Superman arc where she fricked Batman.

The Gods & Monsters movie came out a few years before that Batman/Superman issue so her appearance in the movie influenced her appearance in the comic.

No that Batman/Superman comic I'm talking about came out in 2007.

DC actively hates Diana and anything related to her, and you cannot convince me otherwise.

Frick you and your non-existent feelings. Nobody was asking for this movie, and there was literally no reason whatsoever to make it. DC keeps making utterly idiotic and nonsensical decisions, and it only ever results in a disappointing waste of time.

This movie was easily better than 95% of the DC films, animated and live action, including all the Superman ones and the Wonder Woman movies.
