There's a few anime adaptions around, one of them quite recently.

What are the issues with them? Being 3D is already a minus for me.

The Reiwa era is both cool and shitty because it's the one era where Toho is letting people go crazy and do whatever they want so we're getting more experimental and unique takes on the Franchise but at the same a lot of those takes have been dogass and the best we've got out of it so far was Shin and Minus, 8 years between kino while Toho serves up slop in the meantime

The Trilogy series had a very generic group of characters with it's protagonist being the worst example of a brooding angst teenager that we've seen a dozen times in previous generations
The fight scenes with the Kaijus are ass partially because there are no other Kaijus except for Godzilla, Ghidorah and Mothra, they didn't even grace us with Mechagodzilla fighting Godzilla and partially because when Ghidorah and Mothra finally showed up Ghidorah was so incomprehensible Godzilla literally couldn't do anything except job and Mothra didn't do anything
Basically a miserable Trilogy with miserable characters and miserable Kaijus who's only saving grace are fan animations

Singularity was better but still not great, too much exposition that no one but NERDS are gonna be able to follow without pausing to stop and think about and again the CGi was lackluster at times because loljapan

I'm voluntarily putting up with cgi Godzilla these days (due to a lack of choice), but God damn do I miss suits and practical effects.

Come to Ultraman, they still give us suits.

I really liked Singular Point a whole lot. It doesn't seem well liked by anime fans OR toku fans though.
This is genuinely one of my favorite Kaiju designs now.

That's how they did it in Godzilla vs. Hedorah too, one of my favorite Godzilla movies. Maybe that's just my flavor of autism.

I'm pretty sure the Homestuck problem of "Everybody IMs each other convoluted plot bullshit mechanics discussion" is a bigger issue with SP.

You've been getting an animation project roughly every few years since 2017.

    >Polyon's movie trilogy
    >Singular Point
    >Chibi-Godzilla webseries

...Also the Skull Island animation that doesn't feature Godzilla himself, but is part of Legendary's Monsterverse franchise.

The Monsterverse is like if Michael Bay and the Showa universe had a child. Its “fun” but it was infinitely more interesting when they treated them as natural disasters or mysterious, animalistic cryptids instead of cartoon characters. Tired of boring or obnoxious humans too.

They are honestly the only movies I will got see in theaters anymore.
      I'm guaranteed a spectacle.
The humans are boring but that's just a given.

Well, they greenlit "several" Monsterverse shows for Apple+, maybe one will be a toon.

Several? That sounds like a strange move. Are the movies doing that well?

Two shows, actually. A live action one on Apple+, and an animated Kong cartoon on Netflix.
