Because you have famous actors that get paid in the double digit million range for close-ups while otherwise being replace by doubles, either real or CGI.
this + marketing and money laundering
most of Hollywood funding is money laundering. unironically.
Money laundering for who?
The israelite, obviously
Don't israelites also own the banks, why would they need to launder money
To hide it from other israelites. israelites israelites everyone including their own god(eruv).
I don't even think you dumb homosexuals know what money laundering is
Literal reddit tier hive mind based on nothing but moronic memes and flat earth tier conspiracies.
Somehow every redditor and 17 year old know in detail about this perpetual Hollywood money laundering but the IRS is completely oblivious to it. Hilarious
Oh wait Hollywood companies are constantly under extremely scrutinized audits all the time and you are moronic
just like the pentagon is under scrutiny right
take a moment to appreciate the themes of life in the film. where the protagonist is constantly running from death. such as there is a rampant problem with suicide in Japan, when it comes to males. the protagonist in this film is constantly hated for not giving his life to be a kamikaze pilot. towards the end of the film he was given the right to live by the ones whom hated him. its a beautiful story far beyond the capacity of Hollywood to take a stand for. ant that is modern men.
Why did they make Godzilla look like a cat?
godzilla has had a cattish look since the 80's
part of why shin godzilla was so good is its legitimately one of the only times he's been intimidating. half the time he's kawaii tbh~
Shin doesn't look intimidating, it just looks stupid. By far the worst Godzilla design so far.
(the matthew broderick movie doesnt count because thats not godzilla)
filtered.
Get some taste, Annogay.
anno has more respect for the franchise than most.
Then why was his movie so bad?
if i saw that thing on one end of the road and another gojira on the other end i would run away from shin
The ironic thing is that shin godzilla for me was the most victim'd godzilla and looked like a radiation cancer victim if nothing else. His theme song literally gets me to tears sometimes. A shame that human characters in the movie were so damn dull.

Meanwhile Godzilla minus 1 legit scared me in theaters. The fricker looks like such a jack ass with his unhinged murder eyes.
>Meanwhile Godzilla minus 1 legit scared me in theaters.
are you like 12? the design grew on me but its not scary.
The scenes when he was in the water was probably the scariest in any godzilla movie and I get that it was supposed to be a reference to JAWS. He's not as scary on land though.
it wasnt even a reference it just straight up was jaws
Watching Minus One's hammy acting actually changed my mind on Shin Godzilla's actors. They almost feel naturalistic compared to the new film. It feels like Minus One at times is meant to be a throw back to the 50s style melodrama, but those never had protagonists that whimpered like anime characters the way he does in the final scene.
the acting in minus one is good. and i'm an oscar winning actor btw so don't tell me I don't know about acting.
>feels like Minus One at times is meant to be a throw back to the 50s style melodrama
I felt that as soon as the cranky lady showed up.
remember that befor eMinus 1 got released in japan there was a lot of speculation about how godzilla was gonna play the tragedy angle, and it turn out that was misinformation and that godzilla is not portrayed as a victim but a ruthless jerk and people complained about the fake leaks, including the idea of Godzilla Bros.
wasn't one of the fake leaks that godzilla was made out of nip souls from the nukes or some shit kek.
thats the plot to giant monsters all out attack
Shin's design was amazing, get some taste homosexual.
No, it was trash. That's just objective truth.
Objectively you're vastly outnumbered in that opinion and will have to resign to b***hing every time you see a new thread.
The opinions of tasteless Annogays have never and will never matter. Anybody with functional eyes can see it just looks fricking stupid, goofy and impossible to take seriously. Just like everything Anno has ever made, basically.
Family Guy was never funny homosexual
whats with the big birthing hips
More cushion for pushin'
Hollywood has extremely inflated costs, I'm sure that most of the other countries can make movies with a fraction of that.
Asian dragons are more cat like than western counterpart
200M is a standard Hollywood blockbuster budget. The more recent ones that went quite a bit over that like Mission Impossible (290M) and Indiana Jones (300M+) were because of being shot during covid and in IJ case because Harrison Ford got injured and the production had to stop.
Why is his head so tiny? Looks awful.
he's just bottom heavy/bulking. my boy needs thick legs to support his girth.
nump
It looks like shit with its 2006-tier CGI so the budget is not really surprising...
Tax write off
>Spend $1,000,000
>30% tax rate
>save 300,000 in taxes
Not very smart famalam
And how much money did it make tranime weeb homosexual?
51 million so far
Shouldn't people be more shocked at the fact that a movie cost 500m to make than a movie costing 10m to make?
This. Plus, every time you turn around, they always say they lost money on movies; even hugely successful ones. Think of how many medical procedures for children you could pay for with but one Avengers episode?
They're not hiding illegal activities behind a film production like Hollywood does. Human trafficking is highly illegal and requires a lot of money to do in secret (police and politicians need to be paid off). That's why every movie costs $300mil.+ these days.
Is it true that Godzilla is an analogy for BWC
Less than 15M, how? is really all that cool destroyed city scenes pure technicall work with scale models
>budget of less than 15 million
yeah, it showed
just got back from the movies, thought it was great. Not sure if I would put it above the original or Shin but easily top 3.
shin sucks
minus one was great
really loved the costuming and the recreation of post-war japan
times were hard for those nips
Right but how high is the budget compared to other Japanese movies?
It's low. The last Eva movie cost twice as much.
1. They pay and treat all the people involved pretty poorly
2. FX workers are treated even worse, and paid worse
3. Any time Godzilla or a boat weren't on screen (90% of the movie) it could have been shot on a generic backlot
Also most blockbuster level Western movies currently are incredibly inefficient. "Fix it in post" taken to ludicrous extremes is actually very expensive.
This. I saw a youtuber mention that the godzilla minus 1 crew were literally killing themselves making this movie, which isnt unheard of in japanese working conditions.
However hollywood on the other hand are notorious for taking the publishers as a bible when it comes to budget loopholes.
Hollywood has been the center of film making for too long. When the industry has been awash in so much cash for a such a lengthy period rent seeking becomes the norm.
People don't ask "How much should I pay for this" but rather "How much money do I have to spend?"
Suffice it to say, japanese films don't make enough money for such a wasteful attitude to set in.
Also ""Fix it in post" taken to ludicrous extremes is actually very expensive." Is another symptom of this.
