If you actually look at world map to see which countries prefer dubbing and which prefer subbing, you will notice it will be very similar to a map which shows low IQ countries and high IQ countries in different colors, with the exception of Asia, and that is probably due to their writing systems being unsuited for subtitles.
It's not like the monsters talk, who the frick cares about the human subplots. Watch the sub and turn off subtitles, you already know what's going on and what everyone is saying from context and familiarity with these kinds of movies.
