They probably trash Minus One in the same breath
t. professional butthurt 56% critic
Npcs need critics to tell them what to consoom.
Gawds you gays are insufferable.
Soo black panther and the first captain marvel are the best movies ever right?Frick off morona
Captain Marvel has a 79%, how is that the best movie ever? It was ok.
Black Panther 1 was quite good
yes yes Godzilla Minus One was totally amazing, bros.
>Godzilla Minus One
didn't watch because it looked like shit
Lo and behold it gets lauded by every normie and their npc grandma as "da best gerdzillah evuh"
So now I know I made the right choice
One day you will watch it. On that day you will know the truth.
isn't it like jap nationalist propaganda? frick that
Shin is the only godzilla movie which I've seen that is actually "good" like a normal movie not relative to the others and even that was full annoying jap nationalism
No. It's "the government is useless we have to handle this ourselves." Also a pretty good shit is taken all over the idea that it's honorable to sacrifice yourself for a lost cause. Also there's boats.
minus one is good
Anons you have convinced me to watch Minus One
Please dont be trolling
its good
It's wholesome Godzilla kino.
i like the glasses guy
reminds me of the boys from evangelion
>good acting
>no cheesy dialogue
yes
i don't give a frick about culture war bullshit i literally don't care about any of this shit
The only way to enjoy -1 is to compare it to the absolutely dire state of modern films. Otherwise it's nothing special
>i don't give a frick about culture war bullshit
It cares about you.
>refuses to watch a movie because he thinks it will be "jap nationalist propaganda"
>"I don't give a frick about culture war bullshit"
The urban market loves godzilla and kong. If you want to see a cgi monkey with infinity gauntlet run around with godzilla you'll love it.
The urban market stole my tv last night. Probably to watch this
there is absolutely nobody I trust less than the general public. Literally wrong about every movie. Go watch your popcorn slop
Redditor zombie mindset, literally the opposite of the truth
higher the audience score the worse the movie
the "fans" are always wrong
I just watch it. Kino confirmed.
and cinema becomes more doomed
i got burned when i saw kotm that im going to skip this one
This. It was over after Kong Skull Island, in all honesty. That movie was too capeshitty already
Wtf is a critic, sounds like a bull dyje
Critic reviews don’t matter for kaiisraelite slow
Which genius decided to put an even hollower secreter earth under the already hollow secret earth?
Besides that I loved how Godzilla and King Kong randomly killed so many people by just moving around or fighting.
Nah that was just a section of hollow earth that Godzilla sealed them in by blasting shit and causing a cave in.
It is literally in the exposition part on the wall.
It was a good kids movie. I was able to go to minus one with my 80 year old dad, and this movie with my dad and my son.
My favorite part was when Doug took Kong’s food.
>It was a good kids movie.
It's not supposed to be a kids movie. That's the problem
There was a group of 7~12 year old sitting near me who lost their shit laughing at Baby Kong getting swung around like a baseball bat.
To be fair, Skull Island had a post-credits scene hinting towards KotM.
I don't care what they do I just want Rodan back.
what is that number? no way it's yen
USD.
>fried king ghidorah
Would you bros eat it?
Who the frick is Doug?
A monster from Godzilla vs Kong that audiences liked.
>haha, I love Doug
>who is Doug?
>oh, he's this lizard that never gets named and is totally irrelevant, you would need to be browsing some dogshit reddit forum to know ehat I'm talking about
Why do you homosexuals think you're allowed to make memes? You aren't.
It's not a meme, it's a character in the movies.
If the lizard is called Doug in the movies then the movies are gay. If the lizard isn't called anything and you and ylur little reddit butt buddies came up with the name Doug for it, then you are gay. Call it big background lizard or iguana thing or something that actually describes it so we know what you're talking about next time, moron.
It wasn't called Doug onscreen in GvK, but there's an official toy of it. I haven't seen GxK yet, so I don't know if it's named in the new movie.
How much did Reddit celebrate over their homosexual meme name becoming official with this toy? Toy looks cheap as hell btw.
Amazon Print on Demand shirts and the Monsterverse Declassified comic kickstarter canonized the name first.
The massive Hollywood studio Legendary had to use Kickstarter to make a comic? This industry is so fricked.
More like one of those "Use Kickstarter as a glorified pre-order system" things for the main tie-in graphic novel for the movie, with Declassified being a Kickstarter exclusive bonus.
Why do you spend so much time thinking about reddit and its moronic userbase, anon?
>Why do you homosexuals think you're allowed to make memes? You aren't.
Cause our memes get made official.
Looks like the cross-eyed dinosaur from Caveman.
No one gives a frick what critics think. It advertised itself as a giant monster cartoon but in live action, and that's what it delivered.
Very organic meme.
I swear, there's some Legendary intern working at gun point on Cinemaphile.
they sent their whole team of shills. did you see how many threads were in the catty after dunc 2? the board was insufferable for a week

so it’s good?
It means it's a mediocre movie that works well as mindless entertainment.
>mediocre
no it's bad
Bad would mean unwatchable. Like Midsommar.
mediocre is worse than bad. Mediocre means it's boring. Bad at least might be entertaining on a different level.
It means the goy cattle enjoyed their slop like always
>over half the critics liked it, over 90% of audiences liked it
It's kino.
>over 90% of audiences liked it
Those are "verified" audiences, meaning they made accounts on RT that got approved by RT
93% is pretty good
Why would I listen to amerimutt journocucks?
That’s americ**t journobucks.

If I wasn't into kaiju and stuff I probably wouldn't know this movie is a thing. Dune 2 on the other hand, people wouldn't shut up about it.
they played this commercial on tv and played the trailer in theaters for awhile
youre moronic
>they played this commercial on tv
I stopped watching TV decades ago.
based. I can't argue with that. All I watched was Jeopardy up until Alex died.
they made a sequel to Dune? did Lynch direct it?
the trailer has played before every movie at the cinema for months
why are you on this board if you don't go to the cinema?
idk i don't watch movies, i just post sneed and bane sometimes
14>GvK>=GxK>KOTM.
Movie was fine. Skar King and Shimo were much better than I was expecting. Humans were bad like most of these movies but not annoyingly so . Monsters seem weightless much of the time which I think the zero gravity fight was just them going "yeah we know." Also the movie makes little sense geographically. One second Godzilla is in Gibraltar the next shot he's in the Nile. Some of the hollow earth scenery was cool too. It was good to see Mothra again as well.
>Also the movie makes little sense geographically. One second Godzilla is in Gibraltar the next shot he's in the Nile.
A lot of the Jap Godzilla movies do this too where one minute he'll be in the Bering Sea, and then in the next scene he'll be coming ashore in Japan. The Legendary movies explain it by claiming he uses tunnels in the Hollow Earth like Super Mario's warp pipes. He's also Godzilla, so presumably he can swim pretty quickly.
He was actually a pretty based villain.
Him and Shimo were good but not fleshed out enough or used enough in the film.
Mainly because the fights are short in this film.
The one who is affected the most because of this is Godzilla because all his smaller fights are 1min and his fight with Shimo was never the focus we just got glimpses of it.
He was a pathetic bully in a good way. When Kong was beating his ass in a fair 1v1 despite him using that whip he broke out Shimo without hesitation. Him being so minion-dependent is actually intimidating when the minions are all kaiju scale, and also serves as a reasonable explanation for why the kongs are quickly won over by King Kong taking him out and showing them basic decency.
>giant gorilla goes bald
>becomes a villain
>that scene in Skar Kings throne room where all the battered ape females are holding red fur babies.
Looks worse than a video game cutscene holy frick.
Jesus that looks moronic
Ehhhh, honestly he didn't even feel like a threat during the entire film. Base Kong would be able to take him, I would've considered him a more worthy threat if his "army" that he wanted to conquer the rest of the surface with didn't consist of like 5 other guys who didn't even make it to the surface with him.
Okay someone explain what Skar King and Shimo are
They're king Kong and godzilla but bad.
Skar King is an evil orangutan warlord. Shimo is an ice dragon/dinosaur that Skar King enslaved.
Skar king is just a Great Ape like Kong just a different breed.
And Shimo is just a peaceful yet powerful ice elemental titan that is being controlled to do the bidding of the Skar King due to the crystal on his wip.
Most likely the crystal gives him some form of telepathy like the Iwi's have but his superior mind allows him to overpower Shimo's simpler mind, considering she acts almost like a dog when withKong at the end of the film.
Both were sealed by Godzilla eons ago.
Because Skar King started a war to rule the surface.
skar king is a Saturday morning cartoon villain who works really well. all his scenes are really fun and his whole getup is also fun and works well I think. he has good screen presence. Shimu is just kinda a jobber and sucks. Dont know why they hid her so much, she really sucks and isn't intimidating or aggressive at all. it would have been more interesting had Skar king been killed earlier in and then Godzilla has to save Kong from a rampaging Shimu, but instead Shimu is a pushover and jobs to Godzilla. Everyone jobs to Godzilla in this movie, he probably could have handled this situation himself
They had to include Kong in this movie in order to shit on him for that moron director who gets off everytime Kong gets beaten or almost dies or whatever.
It's funny to me that half these threads are "Wingard doens't care about Godzilla, he only loves monke, frick Wingard" and the other half are people seeing how often Kong gets trashed even if he gets screentime and character moments.
>2005 Kong 1v3s Trexes
>KSI ehh he can kinda hold his own
>Gvk/Gxk he gets carried or beaten or both 100% of the time
But nah brah, Wingard is a Kong fan. Weird way to show it. He can lose against godzilla just fine since godzilla is the equivalent of Superman and Kong is the equivalent of a random schmuck from the street. But he could kill other types of monsters in hollow earth, equal sized or smaller using his almost human level intelligence to build tools, traps etc. And they can keep godzilla fighting and shooting space lasers and dragons and aliens and shit. And it would be fine. But nah.
>Verification not required.
Thank you.
>But he could kill other types of monsters in hollow earth, equal sized or smaller using his almost human level intelligence to build tools, traps etc.
You mean like he does in this movie, against a whole gang of jackal dogs, a gang of Kings, a giant sea serpent, and the Scar King?
>a gang of Kings
What did he mean by this?
A gang of kongs.
Ape Black folk.
Haven't seen this latest slop yet but I read that he kills scar after they gmserve him on a plate all frozen and shit.
As for the others: woah he kills a few puppies, woah he kills a few mini kongs, woah he kills a snake. Brah...
You're moronic.
Wario and Waluigi
Big Orangutan and Godzillas future bootycall.
>Skar King
Monkey from Attack On Titan
>Shimo
OC character DO NOT STEAL so they didn't have to pay Toho for Barugon
>so they didn't have to pay Toho for Barugon
I legit thought Tiamat was Manda but had this exact thought process when I realised it wasn't
>Okay someone explain what Skar King and Shimo are
Journocucks hate the people that like this nerdshit anyway.
how legendary managed to make Godzilla soulless is beyond me
It's because it's in that middle ground where the action is neither has as much weight or impact as something like Pacific Rim but it's also not as silly and cartoony as the Showa movies so it's in that Pacific Rim Uprising range.
Because godzilla isn't a dragonball fighter like beam spamming maniac, it's the presence and the threat. Also now he's goddam pink and anorexic.
I hate it
>bad score by industry
>good score by viewers
It’s what I expect for a good Zilla sloppa. What’s the criticism? The characters are weak? Too much monster time? Half assed effects?
I don't care about the deepest lore tbh, I don't hate it either but I can take it or leave it. I just want to see the big monsters fight. I enjoyed Minus One and I enjoyed the Urobuchi trilogy and I enjoyed Shin Gojira and I enjoyed Singular Point. And yes, I enjoyed the Monsterverse too.
I'm a simple man, I see a big monster and I clap.
i hate urobuchi
Yeah, he's a miserable frick and I do dislike how pointlessly pessimistic he made those movies. There are still things I enjoy about them, though. The idea of an energy being Ghidorah is neat.
Gamera Rebirth was an apology for the Anime Trilogy
Consider the following.
inb4 butthurt LegendShill cries “botpost”, your mom is a bot post also inb4 some LegendShill claims this is a screenshot of my own post, it’s not and get rekt you little virgin
>BIG MONSTER SMASHY GO BOOM AYYY
Yeah like in 2014 and KOTM where it deliberately cuts to humans the moment the monsters start fighting
The Japanese films are puppet slop for children
The American films are CG slop for children
You are a slop-eating child scolding other slop-eating children for eating from a different part of the trough
If you admit the films are slop for children, why do you get mad when people say they are slop for children?
It's just funny seeing different breeds of subhuman consoomers arguing over which slop they eat, I'm not mad but i do help that my comment will knock some sense into some of these cretins
>i do help that my comment will knock some sense into some of these cretins
No body cares about you or your slop post.
You never know, every little bit counts
I'll defend 2014 Godzilla forever, it's genuine kino
MUSUKO WA DOKO DA?!
>critics compare it to minus one
>audience loves it
One of the few times I actually agree with Youtubers and say that they get this movie. It's SUPPOSED to be dumb schlock and it's nice to see that people are having a good time with it.
People don't understand that Godzilla has range. It can be a serious exploration of human nature and also it can be the silliest schlock you can imagine.
>it's supposed to be bad
>nooo a movie can't be silly and fun! where are the metaphors!?
>nooo a movie can't be silly and fun
Never said that
>ITS SHITE
Still a better Dune adaptation than DUNC.
Friendly reminder that using the worst examples of Godzilla (flying in Hedorah, the magic drop kick, Godzilla subtitled, etc) are NOT an excuse to pretend to like this new wave of putrid shite and that you are a bad person for doing so.
>CAPTCHA: ANGY2
Damn right I’m angy.
showa era is my favorite and my favorite godzilla movie is terror of mechagodzilla
>Terror
Absolutely based.
Cringe-kino, now if it was a whole movie of shit like that like GvK/GxK are then it would be slop but one silly moment is an example of cringe-kino.
it's jarring the first time you see it but when you think about it, Godzilla knew he had little hope of defeating Hedorah and was so angry and desperate to stop him that he willed himself into a completely new ability that he had never even tried before. bravo Banno
>So assmad at villain that the MC wills himself into a new form/ability
Godzilla was the ORIGINAL shonen protagonist
When you put it like that, GxK is just going back to Godzilla's routes
>speedruns a bunch of transformations to prepare for the next bossfight
>reddit spacing
>trying to include MV slop
>ESL
frick you, GxK is trash.
What a strange new obsession.
Why do you say this every time you are called out for being a favela crawler? Is it because (You) can’t speak English correctly and must copy + paste it from your Notepad app?
>flying in Hedorah
this was kino
Those are some of the best examples of Godzilla though.
movies like this are created to take whatever animosity grows in the society through data analytics then draws it out of you with some great overcoming triumph in cinema so you're less likely to revolt.
true story
Was there a surprise villain like mecha godzilla in the last one
nah but there is a surprise allied monster I guess?
no post credit scene. if the movie is a success I guess we get GxK III. Hopefully Wingard will be out though so we can get a director that can figure out something to do with Godzilla other than have him as an accessory
Godzilla really, REALLY needs to make it apparent he is NOT the uwu babygirl characterization his fanbase forces upon him
Godzilla in this movie kills a few thousand civilians and slaughters Tiamat and Scylla. Only Mothra can tardwrangle him.
Godzilla is always indifferent to humans at best, so that sounds about right. The fact that he just casually destroys 5,000 year old monuments in this movie is pretty lulzy.
Legendary Kong is an entirely different character to 1933 Kong and all the other iterations of him at this point. They have nothing in common aside from being giant apes. He doesn't even want to coom anymore.
The desire to coom is what makes monkey. It’s always been Kong’s defining trait because it’s what allows us to identify with him. If they’ve stripped him of that than he isn’t Kong anymore, he’s Mighty Joe Young.
Kong is a pedo now.
So what's next? What's the post-credits scene?
>post-credits scene?
Real movies don't have those.
Good to know. Glad the Marvel poison is running out.
Mothra's cry is heard at the end of credits so mothra film maybe
>Godzilla x Kong
is it
Godzilla vs Kong?
Godzilla and Kong?
Godzilla against Kong?
Godzilla and Kong.
Gamera when
Godzilla Multiplied by Kong
Gong? Godong? Killa?
Apparently it's supposed to be pronounced just "Godzilla Kong." I really wished it had been called just
No "x," no subtitle, just Godzilla and Kong. Batman and Robin. Thelma and Louise.
is it supposed to be cross? godzilla cross kong?
All of it.
Godzilla vs AND against Kong
this time they REALLY are feuding
Godzilla and Kong have GAY SEX
nah you do
Who tops?
why not kong ft. godzilla?
kong is more popular than godzilla only in america for some weird reason
Not really
>kong is more popular than godzilla only in america
Why would someone go on the internet and lie like that?.
America is the primary international stronghold for the Godzilla fandom.
Most Americans see Kong as the "Black underdog" with a heart of gold. Did you not watch any of the American films? Its all boohoo humans le bad for chaining poor monke up and sending him on a boat
Is it really like that?
Ever since Harambe I've always seen Gorillas as being above Black folks. So the thought didn't even occur to me.
>Is it really like that?
No. kong is just another Black person. His character arc in all his movies is WHERE DA WHITE WIMMIN AT? They could have written him as a more noble creature but they didn't.
>kong is more popular
I really WISH they could've paired Godzilla with any other allied Kaiju besides Kong tbh
i want a team up film with those 3 so badly.
Same, but knowing legendary we'll possibly just get more off brand hollow earth with Kong front and center.
maybe toho will one day give these the teamup they finally deserve...
>paramount
wb, the monsterverse doesn't have a junk credit rating
Thanos is in these things now?
>le ironic name you'd never think a monster would have XD
Hate this shit
The name isn't from the movies, it was created by fans because the monster doesn't get named.
I know how it was created. It's gay as frick and so is calling Ghidorah's third head "Kevin"
Blame Monty Python for naming the crazy wizard with twisting ram horns "Tim"
Actually I blame the manchildren who took a funny one-off joke and turned it into a trend
Monty Python didn't come up with it, they lambasted what they already found in popculture.
Remember Dune, set millenia in the future in a galxy far away? Protagonist: Paul. Best friend: Duncan Idaho. Mother: Jessica. Villain: Vladimir.
Star Wars, a long time ago, but also far far away? Protagonist: Luke. Sister: Leia. Mentor: Ben. Uncle: Owen Lars.
LOTR, fantasy middle ages? Protagonist's best friend: Sam.
you sound autistic
Because I relay factual evidence for a penomenon predating a Monty Python joke? Really?
Sam isn't even his real name, it's Banazir Galpsi. Tolkien's fake language autism was so strong that his appendices explained that all the Hobbit names in his books were translated and localized from a language called Westron. Frodo Baggins is actually Maura Labingi
>Maura
That's a woman's name.
Kotm was better, pace wise
they didnt even make the fights watchable in new empire just slowmo running and screaming
I really have to disagree. Other than the Mexico scene you can barely see shit in KotM because the fights are obscured by darkness, snow, storm and sandstorm. They’re so colourless and dreary compared to the fights in GvK and GxK.
>you can barely see shit in KotM
You didn't watch it on IMAX?
I’d be more curious about the cinemascore. The audience score for RT are usually from redditors.
what do we think of this guy?
Just a Barugon knockoff
Based, would buy that figure if the scale were right.
She's a big girl.
jobber
lame and didnt do anything
As a side note, Godzilla has the worst aim of any monsters. Any time he shoots a laser beam, he misses. The only time he can kill anything is if he is right in their face and open-mouth kisses them with a blast
This is the low IQ and lack of creativity of the writers to script an interesting fight where the opponents aren't equally powerful.
>Godzilla plays peek-a-boo behind a giant rock formation to avoid Ghidorah's gravity beam
based and fun pilled
>Godzilla misses and misses and misses so the fight isn't over in one shot
lame and gay
Is Sheba the same species as Godzilla? Could they mate?
I will now see your film.
skull island was the only movie that i enjoyed out of this big monsters revival. should i bother watching the godzilla vs. kong movie and this one or nah? i genuinely and only care about the big monke
if you only like monke, GvK and GxK are both Kong's movies so take that as you will
the whole pos is CGI and shit had no chance, I hate that CGI replaced practical effects frick these movies
is it true that they used zilla's roar in this flick?
they've been schlock all along
Critics are turbogays, the movie was good.
Anti-White cuck, the movie is pozzed. Skar King has blue eyes and is meant to represent White people.
Take your meds.
Good to know. Trash movie.
If that were true if would have gotten 90% from critics
My newspapper called this the worst film of the year.
Bad film, good slop.
>ohnonono
lmao funny meme so funny so original hahahaha
How worse have the human characters gotten this time?
Tolerable.
Iwi girl and her stepmom are about the same, except they stan for Mothra now.
Newest protag is a Chris Pratt-lite Marvel wannabe, pretty annoying, but not overwhelmingly so
Black podcaster dude is back, but doesn't get to do much.
They are all really inconsequential, the real main character is Kong
>kek all these cope shart posts
you c**ts absolutely suck at writing Godzilla movies. fat buttholes.
Honestly, I feel so split abou godzilla movies. I loved godzilla a little kid but after watching every movie besides minus one I feel like I'm actively trying to convince myself that they don't suck. Like, the original are Shin are genuinely good, so there's no issue there. But after watching GxK, hating it, and seeing so many people defend it by saying Godzilla movies were always this bad, I wonder if the other ones I liked also suck.
to me it feels like they have no idea what to do or how to write godzilla after kotm tbh.
>After kotm
2014 specifically didn't go with Ghidorah because they wanted to make this Godzilla more nature focused and a space invader muddles it. Then they blew their load with the next movie anyway. This is a cursed spinoff series that won't die.
I'm not talking about the legendary movies. In retrospect, all of them are bad, it's just that 2014 has some good visuals and GvK is fun outside of the shitty humans. I'm talking about some of the older movies. Stuff like Godzilla against Mechagodzilla 2003, Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, even the original Mothra vs Godzilla. Are those actually better than the rest, or am I just gaslighting myself?
>Godzilla against Mechagodzilla 2003
Kinda lulzy at times, but still a very solid entry. It's better than a lot of the other Heisei and Millennium movies about G-Force gays.
>Godzilla v. Biollante
This is actually one of the best-made movies in the series on a technical level. The plot is also a lot more fleshed-out and poignant than most of the later movies.
>Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
Yeah this one is kinda half-baked, but fans love it. Destoroyah has a good design.
>Mothra vs Godzilla
This one is very 60's, but it has sovl and gives both Mothra and Godzilla some character. I feel like this is one movie everyone loves even though it's corny by today's sentiments. I would like to see a Mothra caterpillar bite Godzilla's tail in a Legendary movie even though they're supposed to be allies.
It would be pointless to pay for the Kumonga and Manda loicenses when those monsters are literal whos to everyone who isn't a diehard fan. It's better to just use donut steels for the jobbers.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who felt like that about Biollante. The fact that the movie made me genuinely care about the plot really surprised me. Strangely, it was also one the few movies which made me root for Godzilla's enemy
I like how everyone just pretends the plot of Biollante is that a grieving dad creates a monster to fight Godzilla when in reality it's about a terrorist cell that competes with a paramilitary group to steal Godzilla's DNA to help plants grow in the desert, and the writing is handled about as poorly as the time travel in King Ghidorah
This is what I love about the Godzilla franchise. No two goji fans will have the same opinions about all the movies. One guy's favorite is another guy's least favorite. No one is wrong. Everyone has fun. Godzilla is all things.
It was supposed to be a modern update to the original Godzilla movie, since fears about governments and scientists tampering with biotechnology and the power of genetics unchecked had supplanted the Cold War fear of nuclear weapons by the late 80's and early 90's. Other popular movies from that era like Jurassic Park and even Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back touched on this theme. Dolly the sheep being the first successfully cloned mammal in 1996 was huge global news.
That's part of the issue. Watching guys in cool rubber suits destroying buildings is fun, but can I honestly call that good?
I watched the movie. Godzilla's movement just looks awful at times, especially at the start of the movie and when he comes out of the iceberg.
>Watching guys in cool rubber suits destroying buildings is fun, but can I honestly call that good?
Fun is good.
I just saw Godzilla minus one
theres no fricking way godzilla x kong is gonna be anywhere near as good
Minus One was good. But Yamazaki Worship is annoying. He made more bad movies compared the good ones. Heck he fumbled hard with dragon quest which should be super easy smash hit
Someone post as many cute Jia pics as you can, I'm going to want to fap when I get back from theater.
they linked up, need it or leave it?
The way Godzilla moves in the trailer made me not want to watch it.
>Paramount
It’s a Warner Bros. movie you ADHD zoomer Black person
Also, I know they don't want to pay Toho extra money, but was it really that hard to make the spider monster at the start of the movie Kumonga and the artic sea snake Manda?
Just pretend they are it won't make any difference
>capeshit + anime = ...
Why are people eating that shit?
The original Gojira was an allegory for the terror of nuclear warfare. It was never supposed to be anything else, but dumb western audiences literally threw their money at the screen because "whooaa big monster smash things, so cool." That's why Minus One is literally the only film worth watching since the original.
inb4 everyone gives (You)s to the obvious bait
big monkey kino, the only good monsterverse movie so far
Is this the most divisive Goji movie? Everywhere I look be it, youtube, here, or even reddit it's either a hit or miss among fans. You love it or you hate it
Every goji movie is the most divisive goji movie when it comes out because it's the new shiny that hasn't been talked to death for decades.
There's people that love City on the Edge of Battle?
What the frick was the fight at the end?
How the frick did they learn how to punch, kick, evade and parry like pros?
When the frick did Fatzilla turned into Jet godzil-Li?
Those quiet adventure scenes of Kong and Mini Kong in Hollow Earth are the best parts of the movie.
This was the worst zilla film I've seen, and I've seen every godzilla film. I'd rather unironically watch 98.
56% is too generous and the audience is moronic.
How was it bad?
>the whole film is on fast forward, it's just things happening without any tension or reason tied together with exposition dumps like a clipshow, no air of tension like '14 or drama.
>human characters know what's going on through weird plot contrivances
>weird fish eye lens effects and bad cgi
>plot holes like the bad monkey being locked away for millennia yet somehow kong just walks in and they walk out.
>Lame 1 minute fight scenes, mothra does nothing of note.
>Godzilla is pink for toy sales only
>Monsters have no sense of weight or scale to them
u forgot
>2 of the fights end offscreen, godzilla vs tiamat and kong vs sea serpent
>ice dragon villain looks fricking goofy
>conveniently have kongs new hand right at the facility ready to go
>fight scenes had like no sense of drama to them whatsoever. no close calls or anything aside from kongs hand freezing
>humans are fricking lame again. legit 0/10 storyline with "da prophecy..." angle. black dude brings it up to a 2/10 cuz hes kinda funny
>movie ends like 1 minute after skar king dies
>black dudes storyline and human storyline doesnt even get wrapped up properly
what absolute slop
>Godzilla is pink for toy sales only
You can't really critique this. These are kids films. It's like complaining the Paw Patrol movie has a new firetruck of whatever for toy sales.
>new fire truck
>is new, replaces old work down truck
>maybe has new tech, is useful
>Godzilla is pink because he absorbs radiation in tiamats lair
>Same old godzilla with shittier gay design
If godzilla stayed blue the movie would be the same, a new fire truck actually does something new.
>clipshow of scenes loosely tied together by exposition dumps and fast paced quippy reddit dialog, nothing has time to marinate, doesn't feel like a movie it's just "this happens, now this happens" without any tension, stakes or emotion.
>giraffe necked bob cut dyke woman mc
>"Godzilla like totally wrecked scarkings shit and locked them down in some fiery place" kong just waltzes in and they escape easily so what were they doing down there all this time.
>anti gravity shit just because
>pink godzilla just to sell toys, looks shit.
>mothra shoehorned in
>every fight lasts 1 min that isn't the end fight, and even that is terrible.
1/10, because kong uses the lil monkey as a batton to hit other apes with.
>giraffe necked bob cut dyke woman mc
Someone posted a pic of the 3 femoids from this movie on the red carpet and that chick looked fricking sick or something. Desiccated is the word that comes to mind.
>every fight lasts 1 min that isn't the end fight, and even that is terrible.
That part where they zoomed in on all 4 faces felt like a fricking parody, I was expecting some Naked Gun-esque cut to something unrelated
>kong uses lil monkey as a batton
My favorite part of the movie too, and the only funny part. All the humans were fricking lame and stupid
I liked GoTM a lot despite is myriad flaws but GvK sucked hard I don’t have a lotta faith in this one
Kong made me proud of being black 🙂
It was a very comfy movie. We got high brow cinema last year so I'm fine with this being an entertaining popcornflick.
7/10 breddy gud
he's literally me
I can't imagine what kind of insufferable low t unfunny homosexual nitpicks these types of movies
Imagine hanging out with someone that dislikes Godzilla lmao
I like Godzilla and have been watching every film for 25 years which is why this was bad, why would you just accept slop?this makes the first monster verse zilla movie look like a masterpiece.
I’m gonna see it in IMAX on Monday……
>I’m gonna see it in IMAX
IMAX is a scam.
this is what, the 18th "monsterverse" episode? we're far enough in that the people who don't like this kind of thing got filtered out and only fans are going to see it, so audience ratings are skewed to the positive. critics are forced to watch it despite not caring about it so they understandably rate it lower. all this tell me is it's more of the same. might take my parents to it because they like the idea enough and we can make fun of it after
So where's the HD version of Godzilla Minus one??
I am currently sounding with it. You can have it when I'm done.
japs are keeping it hostage. The Blu ray is out in May, maybe then
Did people really watch Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla King of the Monsters and thought those were serious and deep movies?
Gkotm is biblical. You are to dumb to get it.
What is the actually deal with making Kong the center of this Monsterverse? Godzilla hardly shows up and the story resolves around the fricking monkey as if Godzilla can’t have its own driving plot
Is it literally “we wuz monkeyz n shit” pandering?
They own the kong IP. Simple as.
my dyslexia read that as Urine
All I’ll say is I haven’t seen a single shot from marketing that makes me as interested as king throwing the haymaker into Godzilla made me want to see the last one
just give me some webm of the fight, not feeling this one to sit through the whole human sections
Why do I love the ending scene of showa Godzilla so much? It's literally just him just him going home with somber music.
It's his sendoff, unintentionally.
It's contrast between the beginning and the ending.
Godzilla (1954) starts off with violence, chaos bombing and an angry, tormented monster that threatens the lives of millions of people. Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) ends with a friendly and heroic lizard that has found a home with himself and the world. Those who originally feared him wave goodbye as he returns to the mundanities of everyday life.
True peace.
>Legendary/Paramount couldnt pay enough critics.
They don't need to. It's already seeming like it'll have the biggest opening weekend of any Monsterverse film.
Kinda shit that Godzi killed Scylla and Tiamat compared to how they performed in the canon comics
Godzilla was supercharged when he fought Tiamat,
Haven’t seen it.
Do Zilla and Kong kiss?
Yes, Godzilla then transitions and gives birth the Son of Kong
>Cinemaphile still believes the rotten tomatoes audience score
Since they changed it to verified reviews films have been scoring high. Your film has to be complete irredeemable dogshit to become rotten. I'm sure this is fine and the people who are going know what they're in for but I wouldn't trust the audience score for quality
Anybody who still looks at RT is braindead
>Since they changed it to verified reviews films have been scoring high.
This, all the reviews are trash one word shit like
>awesome
There's probably more shills and bots in the "verified" reviews than the critic reviews now.
When did they start calling them Iwi? Iwi is just Maori for tribe. So it's the tribe tribe. They must have just plucked that name out of a Wikipedia article
The same time they forgot Mothra was in KOTM and in fricking China
GvK was atrocious and this one looks like it has dialed up what made GvK so bad to 11.
I'll watch if it ever makes it to streaming but it looks putrid.
>Hey. Remember that time we made just a single right arm gauntlet for kong with an anti-frostbite serum and left it by the outpost station that got demolished?
The serum, was probably just anesthesic
I enjoyed the movie, but i think it would have been better with the fights at 0.75% speed.
So is there some sort of message/symbolism in Godzilla wanting to frick a giant moth, or did someone just decide one day that the giant lizard needed a waifu?
There are people who think with their genitals because they are mentally damaged. They project this degeneracy onto everything because it's normal to them.
What's the appeal of godzilla movies? I'm not a fan of course but it seems boring and repetitive
>giant lizard who is very strong
>armies try to kill him but fail
>other monster shows up
>godzilla beats him up and leaves
>repeat movie
that for 70 years of franchise
sometimes other monsters dont show up
sometimes they do
sometimes he's good sometimes he's bad
quality varies
music is usually very good
For me it's the men in suits beating each other or stomping on models. That's why the CGI movies do nothing for me.
>Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy, they are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy. They do not attack people because they want to, but because of their size and strength, mankind has no other choice but to defend himself. After several stories such as this, people end up having a kind of affection for the monsters. They end up caring about them.
Watch the first one or one of its remakes (Minus One, Shingodzilla) since they dont have other monsters and are deep political satires for some reason.
>giant lizard who is very strong
>armies try to kill him but fail
>other monster shows up
>godzilla beats him up and leaves
>repeat movie
You can be this reductionist about any franchise. Godzilla can get really wild with the plotting (aliens, time travel, underground KKK members with a giant beetle, robots, magic, tiny twin faires, magic zombie Godzilla, basically the devil, size-shifting robots, pollution monster eggs and Zilla shenanigans).
Mothra being a peace negotiator was very cute.
Just saw it in IMAX 3D and it was great, pure popcorn entertainment. Critics are mad that it's fun and not agenda driven to make people miserable. Ignore them, go and see it for a good time!!!FACT!!!
I do think they missed an opportunity to have the deaf girl have a twin sister which would have tied in nicely with Mothra!!!FACT!!!
I went to watch the movie with my mom and the cinema was pretty much empty, counting us, we were 4 people in the room, and my mom was fricking rude as usual.
The movie already started and I wanted to drink the coke using my mouth inside of using a straw paper, and she started screaming "PUT THE STRAW, PUT THE STRAW" it was pretty embarrassing.
The movie was good, very fun stuff.
Skar was an amazing villain, a dude who was in the theater, cheered when he got killed.
