They keep his body on ice after he dies in the 2014 movie, and some secret monarchs/government/whatever organization brings him back to life through whatever technology, but telling him that he and his wife both died at the hands of godzilla.... I mean, you don't even need to specify Godzilla to make him hate the Titans and Kaiju in general. THEN you could give him his little piece of redemption at the end by making him responsible for the powering mechagodzilla enough for Kong and big G to finish him off, instead of Millie Bobby Brown's crew dumping alcohol on the computer.
