That's caused by hiring expensive actors and musicians to voice your show most of the time, naturally they didn't have it in their budget to make it look nicer and actually keep the designs consistent. And let's not forget that this show is aimed at little girls, combine that with the fact that it's got enough LGBTBBQ+ themes to turn away the average Abrahamic religion household, and you'd just know the merchandising funds were going to be absolutely fricked. Know why Garnet is the least regularly appearing Crystal Gem? It's because she's voiced by a fricking British singer.
