Everything near and in the lighthouse is genius.
Several other interesting, fresh sequences and setpieces.
But the main body of the film is cringe, cheap filler.
Sorry, but few good scenes don't make a shit film good.
It's a good movie, I like the visuals. I think it portrays the concept of "alien" better than any recent modern movie.
Ex machima was shit though, I agree with that. But surprisingly red pilled if you look at it >incel man's inability to overcome female seduction and drunk indian leads to destruction of the human race
It's a good movie, and presumably a riff on roadside picnic. morons think it's woke because it had a female cast and came out around a time where that was a genuine problem.
I loved the film so much that I bought the book trilogy. The first book (which the movie was based off of) was so damn good I finished it in a few days. But the 2nd book is absolute shit. It's been 2 months and I am only halfway through and am struggling to pick it back up so I can move on to the last in the trilogy.
That's really disappointing. After the first book I thought I was going to have a kino trilogy experience. No wonder they only made the 1st one into a movie. Thanks for saving me some time.
I love this movie and I love the book(first one only, 2nd was alright and 3rd was so shit i didnt finish). It's also an incredibly interesting adaptation because it doesn't stick that close to the book at all, and in many ways the book feels more cinematic than the movie. Because of this it's very easy to view the movie and the book as two different teams' expeditions into the shimmer.
Woke shite
It was a metaphor for her failed marriage/sanity, ofc she's around only women
How is it woke?
Great film to watch shitfaced drunk.

pretty spot on tbh
no one understands that crazy shit
I would say Annihilation and Ex Machina are two of the worst modern films, Alex Garland is a hack.
Annihilation for being a moron gender-flipped version of predator (female scientist team lmao), and a CGI shitfest.
Nah. I love my psychotic-agi-robo gf movie
>female scientist team
They explained this, in the book at least. I loved the film but don't remember if it was mentioned.
Nah they just mention it as an elephant in the room, but don't dwell on it.
They did say something in the line of women being more resistant to the area.

Oscar Isaac is Guatemalan/Cuban, not Indian.
I bet you hate Dredd too. Get out.
>gender-flipped version of predator
Fricking moronic take. Annihilation is pretty derivative but not from Predator.
Ex machina is great, you're just moronic.
Annihilation didn't get crazy enough. It could have been a crazy art film but they kept it rather tame.
Had some interesting imagery but could have gone further.
It looks like prime material for a cut to turn it into a simple exploration flick with an open end
They got her name wrong on the poster

Does nothing interesting plot-wise and visually is boring as frick too
Chudfilter kino
A solid 7/10.
pretentious and pedantic
Nice premise, poor cinematography and casting.
It was basically Color out of Space with chics.
I thought it was pretty bland t b h
Didn't know there was a film adaptation of this. I've considered reading the book (it's the first in a series).
this movie had a lot of really cool things going for it like some amazing creatures and really horrifying scenes but in the end a pretty mediocre film
>what if stalker but with veganas
>say no more

don't bother. the first is a perfect standalone novel. The second "picks up" a little but isn't anything great, and the third is garbage.

It was definetely better what I expected.
>one man gets out of the zone bit he's not himself
>one woman gets out of the zone but she's not herself
>This is a woke movie supposedly
Reminder the ost ripped off the bass drops from this song
