I don’t believe you gonna pass on this one.
Your lost bro. Way better than Thor cuck and thunder.
the peak of shit mountain is still shit
The actor who plays Namor has no physical presence, as physical presence I am mean virile, that guy who men who say, this is the man or as a chad that will melt the women panties, an epic miscat the worst of the MCU until these almost 15 years the plot has many flaws because the movie has to have history Namor invades Wakanda the most absurd way as it is possible Wakanda after the attack of Thanos not have a technological army? The Wakanenses still fight with wooden weapons lol, it's so sad to see the lack of vision of director Ryan Coogler, I don't even have to guess, maybe it won't reach 1 billion or even close to it.
holy esl
We have boards if you want gay porn anon.
Namor has always been a pathetic seething cuck so this depiction was perfectly accurate.
selfhating Hispanic again
https://desuarchive.org/int/thread/173194978/
are you having a stroke
Haven't seen the movie yet but why do people keep saying he is miscast?
Wrong face
Wrong facial hair
Not ripped
Mexican
No widow's peak
And short.
Everything wrong with the cast, eyebrow, no forehead, hairstyle is wrong, he is the Disney Namor, literally a pussy version
You mean he isn't white?
not even remotely close and you took the most flattering pics from the comics to try and make this point and still failed
Namor is Alantean/Aryan, no latinx.
Namor is a character from a completely made-up sunken kingdom in the middle of the Atlantic.
He doesn't have to be water-Spock.
Frankly I was impressed they went with the ankle-wings, they've come a long way from the early days of Wingless no-helmet Thor.
>Comic and Cartoon Namor are being looked at straight on to show how strong and chiseled he is
>MCU Namor is shown at an angle to hide his mishapen 5 foot tall body
more like pansor
Speak for yourself. I wanna suck Tenoch's nut dry.
Well look at Christian Bale. He did good in love and thunder, but he was hardly a character as it is.
Alonzo and feige only want soft feminine men, mid st best vaguely gay women, dykey Mary Sue tween girls and gays in the MCU.
No I'm not kidding.
The entire idea of Atlantis in the MCU is fricking awesome.
However homies is blue and he's a tiny out of shape twerp who looks like he gets no b***hes or can throw hands.
I know they could chosen a Mexican or south American who looks like nsmor and can fricking act in English.
Nope he's some c**t Alonzo knows. And a total b***h to boit. So double win.
Namor was a shit in this movie and RiRi was a let down. Whoever wrote this movie needs to be slapped and go read some comic books.
so his little sister is the protagonist? do the returning cast get much to do?
Remember when Michael left The Office and we got to get more out of the supporting cast in subsequent seasons? It was kind of like that, but obviously sad as shit because Chadwick is dead.
I loved it. Namor was badass and so were his people. It’s going to be interesting to see where they go with him.
Atlanteans had the best entrances/reveals and basically steamrolled everyone for most of the movie.
Riri was mostly there are a macguffin/comic relief. Kind of like how America was on Doctor Strange actually, but with much less screen time in comparison.
The way they linked Atlantis/Wakanda wasn't as hackneyed as I feared
This is kind of a weird thing to praise but I like how they animated Namor in flight. Less like a bullet or fighter jet and more like a hummingbird
Pacing got a little slow at times.
I can see people being afraid of this being a GRRRL power movie but the mostly female focused wakandans lose/job a *lot* so I guess we'll have to focus on hating the blacks instead.
Thematically it was mostly about Shuri going through the stages of grief (with special focus on anger)
>Atlantis
How the FRICK are a bunch of Aztecs from the 1400s who found a flower that lets them breathe underwater, in any way, shape, or form, connected to Atlantis? Shill better you moronic shill. MCU "Namor" has 0 to do with comics Namor. He's a new character with the name slapped on top.
Atlantis and El Dorado were interchangeable during the Conquista.
How utterly moronic are you homosexuals? In the MCU "Namor" and his people are literally normal Aztecs who find a flower that lets them breathe underwater so they relocate to the depths and rebuild their society there. Atlantis, even if you spicified it, is a thousands upon thousands of years old myth concerning a lost civilization. The MCU has no Atlantis, spicified or not. MCU's Talocans are an entirely different thing. The only thing they lifted from the comics were the names, nothing else.
You believe specify comes from spices and that's why you keep saying spicify? That's hilarious, Anon. Lecture us more.
What are you even talking about you moronic twittertroony?
Typical racist claptrap
Y'all don't speak of any actual qualities. It's good? What's good about it? The themes, the action scenes, the cinematography, the thrills? What about the characters, what do you feel? It's like y'all don't even experience anything when you watch a movie. And when you talk about the representation and other bullshit elsewhere, you're still not speaking of any qualities, as if you have no soul to experience art with.
Actual movies like blade will always be better than woke franchise garbage that's not even as good as fast food anymore.
Not OP but:
Pros
A lot of solid performances, everyone who was great in the first one is great in the second; the character of Shuri is much better and is given depth beyond "perky smartass know-it-all".
Angela Bassett is exceptionally good in it. You want more Winston Duke, he's good every minute he's onscreen.
Namor and the Tlalocans are written logically and are not just super-villains. They are also threatening to the Wakandans. Namof is as far from comic Namor as Nolan's Bane, but he's an interesting anti-villain and his resolution is great.
In fact, no one in the movie is doing stupid things for stupid reasons in this film, which is refreshing.
The action scenes for the most part are effective, a lot of cuts in parts but no one is hiring professional martial-artists anymore outside of Shang-Chi.
Also its nice that (outside of Riri?) the movie is completely uninterested in addressing the rest of the MCU, no cameos at all.
Cons: Riri is really tacked into this movie, so is the American agent and his wife/boss.
It makes the movie over-long by at least a half-hour.
The trans Dora Milaje cannot even REMOTELY pass.
Lupita is under-used.
>The trans Dora Milaje cannot even REMOTELY pass.
???
If Micheal(a) Coel was born a woman I am the Cadbury Easter Bunny.
>The trans Dora Milaje cannot even REMOTELY pass.
if you're referring to who I think you're referring to she's not trans she's just fricking weird looking
Tacked on as she was I did like her suit
Her armor was fine. Her inclusion was "fine".
My main problem was that she was a one dimensional Sassy American Black Girl through the entire movie.
Yeah I do wish they'd stop the sassy black girl with braids why couldn't she be cute and bubbly or even nerdy
Oh and
1. Shuri is willing to put EVERYTHING in Wakanda for an American girl she just met.
Who's invention not only endangers Tlalocan, but objectively Wakanda too by giving the other powers access to Vibranium.
2. She's supposed to be super-smart, but is neither nerdy-smart nor deductively smart or observationally smart; she's just generic "Yes I invented Iron man stuff and this other tech, take my word for it". She seems rather dumb for a super-genius in general.
3. She's just a hostage for the bulk of the movie.
Shuri did make a mistake risking wakanda for riri but given her noble nature it was the "right" thing to do they messed up killing namors people the queen kind of fricked up inflaming hostilities when shuri was clearly on the road to peaceful negotiation as obstinate as namor was trying to be
>Shuri x namor got fricked by the queen
The real disappointment of the fallout
Yeah but it was in-character for the Queen Mother to react and act the way she did. Again, it was nice to see a cape movie where neither side is doing ridiculously stupid shit to advance the plot.
I haven't seen this movie since it came out and forgot how bad it is
Also yeah it did feel weird they didn't even try to tack on some science mumbo jumbo wording like they'd give to stark having him say some coherent but stupid shit like quantum field capacitor reactor subspace generator
>the Conquista
Callese, derechango.
They're not in the pacific ocean anon.
Atlantis is set in the Atlantic, anon.
So is Talokan.
>Namor in flight
The way he was able to jet around and stop on a dime was badass. Bonus points for keeping that little sound effect for when his wings would flap, a slightly less competent director would put it in once and never again
He's also specifically referred to as a Mutant, in case anyone missed it.
Yep, our first on screen mutant just like how he was the first mutant shown in the comics
So Marvel is just openly using the M-word now.
She-Hulk namedropped it first, in a joke no less.
>it's slightly less shitty than previous MCU products
Yay?
It has a lot of flaws, but the second half with Shuri and Namor was honestly enjoyable
Especially the BP suit
>Especially the BP suit
I like how it was a mix of T'challa's and Killmonger's suits.
I do like that she was upset that only Kilmonger showed up in her vision. I knew T'challa wasn't going to be in the chair, but I was honesty expecting the father to be there. Speaking of which, am I the only one who thought they should've brought up T'Chaka's more?
>not have her be trained by all the past kings in different era black panther outfits
>it's the mother fricking psychopath that wanted to genocide anyone not black
>Former main villain trained the next-gen hero
not even fricking close
Loki: the ONLY thing in this phase working towards building up the next ACTUAL arc, Spiderman: Nostalgia Trip, and Moon Knight: the BEST introduction to a new MCU hero
Black Panther 2 is the "FEMALE HEROES!!!" scene from Endgame as an entire movie
and once again they use stolen valor to elevate characters
black female Ironman shoved in to make THREE black female Ironman suits for the 2 characters who cant fly
its nothing, Namor was decent but he looked ridiculous without his gigantic aztech headpiece
there is just nothing here, you can watch the rest of the MCU shit and not miss out on any story beats, you just know WE WUZ characters are going to show up and thats all this shit adds to the MCU
not sure if you're trolling but if serious didnt know people like you existed that disregarded context and just went off surface imagery to connect their perceptions. like mostly women it's exactly like that other scene that was mostly women
i hated that shoe horned girl power scene in endgame but the female led narrative here made sense because all of the characters were established beforehand and were coping with a great loss. it was completely organic and natural. hate things when they're bad, not just because feMaLes bAd
Werewolf by night shits on your entire post
>use stolen valor to elevate characters
what?
its when you use someone elses work to get free shit
wearing an army uniform to mcdonalds because you want the military discount when you havent been in the army
>Loki: the ONLY thing in this phase working towards building up the next ACTUAL arc,
Loki was a b***h made simp who spent most of his time following and doting on this annoying ass mid b***h (his female replacement) and fricking up.
The entire addition to the MCU amounted to fricking nothing if the movies are any indication.
Endgame introduced it better.
>Spiderman: Nostalgia Trip,
How to frick up any future stories and make your hero look worse in one movie.
Seriously Garfield was just stealing the movie as spiderman and I really wanted to see him vs Dafoe goblin with Emma stone as MJ.
>Moon K b***h ass simp who follows dotes on and hypes up a mid b***h(who will replace him) and fricking up.
It's the pattern in all MCU movies.
The only good things were the predator costumes and the movie not being a quipfest like the last 20 movies
Shit! This movie was better than expected!
Keep seething Cinemaphile
Beware the shill
NBC ended their primetime """news""" program last night with a 10 minute commercial for BP2, complete with the two black women showing up for a quick interview about how brave and beautiful and powerful and important this commercial product is. The blending of """news""" (propaganda) and advertising is utterly complete, there is no separation between them anymore and it's staggering to watch from the outside.
So can atlanteans in the comics do that thing where they emit a sonic attack that makes people drown themselves because that was pretty cool.
The only MCU moves I have watched were The Avengers and Morbius, I'd like to keep it that way due to sheer quantity of movies that I can't be bothered to watch since there are too many of them.
>Morbius
>MCU
Morbius Cinematic Universe
Marvel Chracters Universe
You lucked out, those two and Spiderverse are the best MCU movies
Ive been thinking over it and Namor might be one of the worst written villains in the MCU, and this is phase 4 which is FULL of shitty writing
SO number 1 in a POST-ENDGAME world Namors plan is to just "take over the world with or without wakandas help"
meaning that he SAW his people being snapped and then years later unsnapped and STILL thinks he has a chance against a world that got through that
number 2 WHILE Thanus was gathering the stones he just sat in his little underwater cave and did NOTHING, he watched the people he is willing to go to war against be disintegrated before his eyes, did nothing, and AFTER everyone came back did nothing in the SECOND Thanus fight
number 3 WHILE he knows the american government is dicking around underwater hes so fricking stupid he has ZERO lookouts or security to catch Nakia just SWIMMING to the cave holding his 2 most valuable prisoners
and worst of all, this dude whos fricking weakness was the typical water b***h weakness of "get him out of the water" thinks he could POSSIBLY stand a chance against Dr Strange who could instant transmission him and his crew to the dessert the moment he caught wind of the situation
and people are praising this shit?
He wasn't trying to take over the world. He was trying to preserve his isolation. U.N. member nations were making a grab for vibranium power now that T'challa was dead and it wasn't going well trying to 'borrow' some of it remote Wakandian outreach centers. This lead them to searching around the planet exposing Namor's existence.
Yes, He's an Isolationist. He doesn't care about the surface. Their wars and problems mean nothing to him, and Thanos has no interest in vibranium.
He put a lot of trust/good faith into Wakanda. Tensions were running between the 2 but from the jump BOTH COUNTRIES DO NOT WANT A WAR WITH EACH OTHER. It was nice to see both aspects of Wakanda and the Underwater Aztecs. Them at peace and also at war. Civilians as well as soldiers harmed spiraling out a political incident.
I know you think hordes of screaming mindless monsters running into a meat grinder of heroes is 'peak action' but it was nice to see an actual war for once. also in the water or the Air Namor is to fast for Strange's portals.
except he literally says he wants Shuri to ally with him and go to war against the world, he literally says that to her face
and no, there is zero chance he could outpace a Dr Strange portal when he was tricked into the microwave ship its stupid to pretend when that happened in the movie
this guy let Shuri GRAB his leg wings, he isnt outpacing a wizard
Isolationist Namor would show up, show that he has power, and threaten the world nations with MAD if they dig through waters for vibranium, THIS Namor just said "theyre looking for vibranium time to take over since Wakanda has no Black Panther to defend them" and ACTUALLY thinks the worlds mightiest heroes wouldnt fricking stop him
he REALLY thinks that and were supposed to turn a blind eye because the characters cry over chadwick for half an hour
Namor was already dried out when Shuri clipped his wing. He was knocked into the microwave. Strange doesn't have to raw physical power to move Namor and the sea king's reaction isn't going to zip through one Strange's sky holes. The Wizard is fricked.
Namor ONLY wants to first strike the surface because their getting closer and closer to discovering him and his vibranium city. He knows that once the rest of the planet sees Talokan they aren't going to let him keep it.
no he doesnt, he wants to take over he fricking SAYS IT
and right he got KNOCKED into the microwave, if he can get hit by something while he is at TOP SPEED IN THE AIR he is going to get put through a portal
Dr Strange has put PETER FRICKING PARKER through portals, the kid has spidey sense one of the most broke abilities in canon and even HE couldnt outpace Dr Strange
Namor is fricking weak by MCU standards if Shuri is able to take him on, and BECAUSE Shuri and the Ironhearts were able to take him its a given Dr Strange could send him into the desert hell he could put him in the mirror dimension and the guy has zero chance of getting out
But Strange COULDN'T take Peter on. Parker literally let Stephen get close enough to knock him out of his body and dump him into the mirror dimension and he still got bodied. Namor distrusts all outsiders. He's not going to let Strange touch him, the Doctor is going to get vibranium right through the chest.
His aggression against the surface is ONLY the result of threat of discovery for Talokan. He is not fighting for land, or resources. He's fighting survival
You must not know how namor is in the comics.
were not talking about the comics were talking about THIS namor
agree i have no idea how they pulled it off but they simultaneously paid tribute to the loss and passing of chadwick while setting up a successor tchalla in both name and feel. that was a smart as frick move.
I'm sure it's a 6/10 as opposed to the rest of the phase 4 content going from 3/10 to 5/10
I’m honoured to see a fully paid disney shill ends up in Cinemaphile.
Not gonna watch it
That literally is not saying anything. You have to open up with more than that.
Go woke go broke
Hiw is this anymore woke thank BP 1?
Ironheart is super woke
Is she even a character? She doesn't seem like much from the trailers.
Supporting character. She gets more screen time than Man-Ape but less than Okoye. About as much as Nakia.
Does she do more than build armors and have really bad CGI?
She's better at working with vibranium than Shuri is. You know. The super genius even smarter than the man who casually invented time travel who's been working with vibranium her entire life.
actually jarvis did it, tony just asked nicely
Her tech is the problem with Talokan. It's a underwater detector for vibranium that she was unaware of it's use by goverments to find another source of space rock.
Ironheart was always going to be bad, that's a given.
The better ironheart
Black Queens > asiatic prostitutes
>scrap we wuz ironman an sheeeit
>buy the Porno
a whole Jav studio couldn't be worth more than 1-5million. Acquire it through a shell company at a realistic market valuation, steal the IP for Disney, then shutter it.
>Ironheart as the hapa bastard daughter of Tony
>graveur star and has a secret JAV video floating around
>Happy shows up one day and informs her she's a billionaire
>access to ironman tech as one of tony's care packages
>few dozen lines of "I wish I'd known you, I didn't do enough" dialogue at 50k a pop from RDJ (recorded in his bathroom)
>immensely strained interactions with Pepper Pots
>future odd dynamic with half sister and "real" daughter of Tony Stark
>core message about doing right with what is given you told through the fallout of crazy rich asian antics and owning up to choices of the past (as a vehicle for Japanese media horniness)
and now that they've broken the MJ-Spoooderman interracial relationship
>ship 'em
>lean into the awkwardness and pain of her dad being his not dad and the fact he had a relationship with her father
>let sony use the character as a sometimes heroine and tentpole character
Imagine
Black Panther 1 was an all-black movie. This is an all-black, all-female movie. That's twice as woke.
African movie.
It's an African movie
Africans are not black Americans.
Just ask the Africans.
And wsksndand see Africans as lower then animals.
>african movie
no, it's an african-american movie pretending to be an african movie. Africans don't give a frick about Black Panther. You'll see infinitely more Spider-Man merch in Africa than BP. Always talking about America that has never had any significant presence in Africa, speaking primarily in English, and whose initial main lead was American.
Namor should have been an asian fella
>Even if it's not saying much
It's saying nothing at all
The only reason Love and Thunder isn't sitting at a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes is because of the Marvel brand
>is easily the best MCU media of this phase.
*Cof* *cof* moon knight *cof* *cof*
Was black panther even good? Never watched it, same with doc strange 1, thor3 and the non civil war captain America movie
Civil ear ironically my favorite use of Black Panther, which is funny because I hate everything else in the movie.
Black Panther the movie suffers from the villain being better than the hero. It's basically a movie showing Wakanda needs to open it's border, and not ignore the problem facing the world like it did with Hitler and slave trade
It's sad how it's not saying much
The only other contenders are No Way Home (nostalgia bait) and Multiverse of Madness (decent at best)
What is the reason this movie ignored the many proposed origins for the the Atlanteans, including the current canon one in which they are aliens?
Is it because:
A. The director has a boner for shaming people over the European colonization that happened a few centuries ago and literally cannot just let fantasy be fantasy?
B. Aquaman is such a thorough rip-off of Namor but also such a more well known character, that they felt they had to make him as different as possible to avoid the annoying comparison?
C. Namor will enter the public domain in about 12 years (and might technically already be public domain), so he has to be radically different to prevent others from just copying what they have done here in case it turns out popular?
D. Feige and crew have never really cared about the lore or canon in the first place, so it's really not that shocking to begin with?
It's these two, but also the changes make the parallels between Atlantis and Wakanda stronger. Namor is effectively Water Black Panther.
Technically Ms Marvel namedropped it prior to She-Hulk. This is the first theatrical release to use the M-word in the MCU though.
Because underwater Meso-american architecture and culture is more unique than generic water-nobles. I guess BP2 didn't have enough drumming octopi for you DCuck?
I agree I liked the underwater city here more. Maybe because it takes into account that its underwater and there's a lot of freedom in terms of movement to it.
>DCuck
Incoming ban.
>D. Feige and crew have never really cared about the lore or canon in the first place, so it's really not that shocking to begin with
Well, yeah?
Anons will disagree but you're technically right due to how mediocre phase 4 was.
So was Doctor Doom cut or was it all just a rumor?
There was allegedly concept art for his appearance in a post-credit, but the current running theory is either everyone was duped by a fake, or it was from the original version of the film before Boseman died.
Pretty much also means the FF aren’t showing up anytime soon. Not that I care because I lost interest in the MCU after endgame
>Pretty much also means the FF aren’t showing up anytime soon
2024.
Wow how original.
>So was Doctor Doom cut or was it all just a rumor?
a fake rumor as always don't trust "leaks" or "rumor" threads
Hey, guys! I found a perfect summary of this movie!
>S4
Damn, that's a good summary of how fricking awful that season was in a single screencap. The original homie moment accomplished so much without the gratuitous gore.
I never bothered to watch it, no Aaron no Boondocks.
That's rough buddy.
It's Season 3.
Who gives a frick about this woke garbage Kevin Conroy passed away!
the new batman series is gonna get the Wakanda Forever treatment of being a memorial in the actor's name
nope, delayed to 2025
Good job Goyim
Question for this thread/board
Has anyone seen a orange clock appearing in the MCU? Post credits or anything like that?
I was watching Loki/Marvel’s What If (one or two episodes before the Watcher (a. Breaks his oath) (b. Starts getting bodied by Ultron) Ultron Sigma from Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom would be a cooler fit IMO and I hit a stalemate. Or at the very least, a logical error.
Post Endgame Loki should be dead right (and to a lesser extent Heimdall ( if you don’t count Idris Elba Knuckles in Sonic movie 2 ? He and Sylvie made it to the citadel, and were greeted by Kang but apparently there’s another Kang in (Antman Quantimania) that’s completely different and the trailer which someone linked in a previous thread where Hanks wife suggests turning off the machine entirely and not to do that/go to the micro realm? The thing is, Loki wanted to go back to the TVA and sort of warn everyone? I’ve heard they just finished filming season 2 in LONDON. Also also, Dr Strange did get a chance to talk to Thor about Loki and Loki fell out of a portal for about 30 minutes.
I skipped Thor Love and Thunder/Dr Strange Multiverse of madness because they don’t make too much sense to me. And with SpiderMan no way home, when Peter Parker wished for everyone to forget him, wouldn’t there an outlier of some sort? I’m thinking too much about this.
The short answer is but I’d figured I’d ad ask here first.
Another question : how does powderpuff girls end?
Damn b***h you typed all that
So were my worst fears true that Shuri became BP?
Yes. Her transformation from grieving sister, to furious daughter, to competent queen is fantastic
Wakanda Forever felt like a sequel to Black Panther rather than a sequel to the entity of the MCU itself. The film is great.
Literally gay. Okoye should have been the new BP
No sjw Panther sucks dick should have recast
Damn I’m gonna buy ten tickets right now!
So no Doctor Doom tease? Fricking lame
Gimme the TLDR. Like the overall quality, I fell off hard after endgame
It was pretty wild. Martin Freeman becomes the White Panther by the end of the movie.
Far more than Riri, his is a totally unnecessary presence in the film; his actions add nothing whatsoever that couldn't be handwaved into the Wakandans just discovering it on their own.
Riri at least figures into the plot development that uncovers Namor (though sure, it could have been any science-type).
This guy is in this movie simply because he was in the first one.
>it could have been any science-type
water man needs water to be super is not a particularly hard thing to surmise.
The film was pretty boring, the best (only good) parts were the goodbye scenes for Chadwick, and the Kilmonger scenes, but Riri surprisingly didn't piss me off like I expected.
She's a typical 'fictional genius' sure, but they don't overplay it. The most impressive thing about her is that she's the source of the Vibranium Sensor. Her 'Iron-Man' suit is basically a frame with some elements of the MK2 suit, and it took her years to make/design, and the suit she used in Wakanda/image related was just for this movie and a cooperative effort and using their tech. They stopped well short of having her 'one up' Tony, and I'm willing to give them credit for that at least.
Oh my god I didn't even register that the big shoulders are supposed to make her torso look like a heart because her name is Ironheart jfc
>They stopped well short of having her 'one up' Tony
I mean, they kind of did, although indirectly. They have Riri do something that Shuri thought was impossible, and the previous movies all but outright said that Shuri was even smarter than Tony, or at the very least was just as smart as him. It's honestly one of the most Mary Sue-y things in the entire MCU, and I'm including everything about Captain Marvel.
>and the previous movies all but outright said that Shuri was even smarter than Tony,
Ehh, he replicated their nanotech (let's be honest, they weren't going to share it with him), and she's clearly been inspired to make a not JARVIS for her lab, so at best they are both geniuses in their fields. I still give Tony the edge because he didn't have the advantage of miracle ore. And after all, she didn't invent time travel.
>Ehh, he replicated their nanotech (let's be honest, they weren't going to share it with him)
He uses a Wakandan energy shield in Endgame since the physical one got destroyed in Infinity War.
There was also the moment in Infinity War where she was condescending to Bruce (and Tony by extension) for the 'crap' job they did at making Vision.
To be fair he was a literal rush job.
"They" also in quotes because it wasn't tony or Bruce at all but Ultron who designed him.
And Ultron was partially an AI by Tony and mostly some cosmic mumbo jumbo super computer from mind stone.
>Chad dies
>Wellshit.jpg
>Can’t recast, Black folks would screech
>WAIT
>makes movie dicksucking him and having the main cast cry about how spectacular tchalla was, while making it about women empowerment at once, shielding it two-fold from critics
>Bring in kid that literally shares his name to get aged up by kang or whoever else, but its not THAT Tchalla, so its stunning, brave and respectful
Credit where its due, Feige knows how to play morons
>Can’t recast
The Black folks and boseman himself wanted bo to be recast
Marvel/Disney wanted a dead Black person to lure black people to the theatres and for Oscar bait.
Biggest complaints are Namor had no presence and Riri was kind of annoying, but still more ambitious and well-executed than anything else this phase has shat out
Riri was annoying AND unnecessary, as was CIA and his wife. Fortunately (unfortunately) the movie was overlong so nothing was sacrificed to have Riri running around in it, though it was hard to swallow Shuri's potential villain turn as she was willing to get half her nation killed to nobly protect a civilian she just met that day.
I found Namor, Attuma, Namora pretty great, though I laffed when they made it out like Okoye was going to off Attuma and then he just ends up falling down into the water (same for Namora). I guess the director realized he can't keep killing off large chunks of the cast, there aren't THAT many great Black Panther characters.
I guess I'm in the minority of people who found the re-imagining of Namor and his people fresh and interesting.
It made them a sort've Dark Wakanda in a way, and gave them a unique look apart from cheesy swimwear/conan-esque underwater barbarians.
More than Aquaman, you felt it was actually underwater, not just dimly lit with CGI hair added. And they don't have year 3000 technology for no raisin.
I actually don't mind the Atlanteans as Underwater Mexicans, but Namor himself was so dull. Guy they picked wasn't intimidating or domineering or charismatic or attractive or anything.
>MCU The Hispanic - Black person Wars
Does anyone know why the fish people on the bridge were able to regenerate from killing blows? Cause all the others seemed to go down pretty normally
>Cause all the others seemed to go down pretty normally
The ones shot on the oil rig kept getting up too; the only ones that really stayed down hard were energy weaponed (like the ones shot in the cave).
Thanks, guess I wasn’t paying enough attention
The resolution was almost comically weak.
>The resolution was almost comically weak.
What? Namor is pretty savvy; all this conflict has just primed Wakanda's enemies against it; and he IS their only powerful ally when they get sucked into a war that he wants to see happen.
It's totally his long-term win the way things have worked out.
/co/mblr is real
even on Cinemaphile they seem a little more positive then i thought but again I think people just had there expectations so low that a 1.25/10 instead of a 1/10 makes it seem like the movie is really grate
https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/11/wakanda-forever-exploits-commercial-politics/
>Wakanda Forever, set in the same fairy-tale kingdom, shamelessly reinforces the myth that Wakanda is a real African nation. For race-focused naïfs, Wakanda is the Afro-futurist fount of Millennial black intelligence, scientific advancement, and political sovereignty. MCU sells a homeland that resembles a paradisiacal shopping mall.
>In this sequel, MCU goes rogue, taking a knee at the death of Wakanda’s king T’Challa (originally played by the late Chadwick Boseman). It opens with an elaborate memorial sequence that’s as out of proportion to reality as the spectacle of Nancy Pelosi’s Beltway posse donning fake kente cloths to kneel for the media-vaunted felon George Floyd; they instituted a crippling political myth designed to ultimately impair black American self-respect and self-sufficiency.
>Now Coogler’s just a cog in the machine of a system that has fewer black studio heads than there are black NFL owners. His action-spectacle chops imitate the Russo Brothers’ Marvel standard in several CGI set pieces yet lack Zack Snyder’s panache, the intense, kinetic aesthetic that dramatizes personal struggle against specific moral affront. Wakanda Forever’s nearly three-hour length attests to its intention to outdo mere entertainment — in its aim to be taken seriously, it uses glib racial, feminist identity to indoctrinate audiences into cheering potential race war.
>This sequel operates the same way the Democratic Party manipulates its black and brown voters by pretending to cater to their needs. The fallacy of T’Challa’s state funeral is a grim-faced repetition of how Aretha Franklin’s “homegoing” was turned into a Democratic Party rally — but worse, since the fictional T’Challa should inspire endless reincarnations like Superman or Batman. But Coogler seizes the mind-bending, culture-warping opportunity of serving the Hollywood plantation by whitewashing the fact that the industry laments only the loss of Boseman’s box-office potential.
I could tell this was Armond White before opening the picture
>that boat attack in the beginning
I almost wish they would that horror sub mariner comic as a short movie
Namor can spit in my mouth. That's all I got.
They had the perfect opportunity to introduce Doom and they didn't do it
>They had the perfect opportunity to introduce Doom
Having seen the movie, how so? The United Nations angle?
Doom orchestrating the conflict between Wakanda and Namor, weakening two nations while he rebuilds his own
That's fricking dumb.
Wakanda is nothing and Atlantis less then that
The movie is the most boring of this phase, Shang Chi and No Way Home are easily the best ones
>Atlantis invades, drowns countless civilians and murders the queen
>nooo don't take revenge
I'm with Shuri, wipe them out
>Iron Heart throws a car on a line of cops doing their jobs, killing them all.
>Nobody cares
It's an all black movie by Disney, did you really expect cops to be treated as anything but subhuman?
it was reparations
Please tell me your lying?
Things that never happened, the post. The only cops that got killed are the ones that witnessed Namor's hit squad on Riri.
While they don't come outright and say it, Riri, Shuri, and Okoye do cause a lot of car crashes on their way out, and people are known to die from those. Did ALL the cops die? No, probably not. Did at least ONE cop die? There's a decent chance.
What was with the two ironman knock offs the spear chuckers wore? Were they in the comics at all?
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Midnight_Angel_Armor
Shuri gave me an appreciation for DFC. tho I can't get behind the ShuriXNamor ship. they fricking hate each other and make it clear that's what's happening.
Hate sex is hot tho
>the movie is easily the best MCU media of this phase.
Why do shills always say this?
"It's the best MCU movie." "It's the best on this phase." "It's better than Endgame."
Shut the frick up. Just shut the frick up.
Is namor a mutant?
Yes but I think it's just a coincidence to the fact he's an Atlantean. However he identifies as such and allies with the X-men.

No hay tetas aquí

Lupita even in just some sundress is the sexiest woman I have seen on a theater screen in years. unreal how distracting she was for me
She was delightfully thick in this movie my god.
Attuma and Namora were really good and I hope to see more of them in other MCU films.
I hate how accurate this is.
>sing you to suicide
>basically immortal unless you're using wakanda science bullshit
>too many of them
they're already more badass than DC atlanteans and Cameron's navis. Attuma was a fricking smug bastard and I loved it.
Can't believe in a month we'll get another movie about blue people in water
3 minutes of Attuma/Namora had more villainistic menace than a movie of Gorr. I fricking hate Taika so much
Taika really didn't care when he wrote/directed thor4
Just realized Talocan is an anagram for Atlantis. Neat.
Movie had a lot of really great scenes and equally a ton of terrible ones. All of the atlanteans chilling in the water at night were great. Really hides some of the flaws in the CG that is shown later on. Obviously everything about Ironheart is fricking awful. They made her way too competent early on.
Shes literally a typical dykey mid looking tween/old marvel Marvel Sue.
There has to always be one
She's literally the exact same character as American Chavez in Multiverse of Madness, except worse in literally all aspects.
And Sylvie, and moon knights uneeded ex wife addition, and hawkeye, and soon wandas son that no one gives a frick about
Female sidekicks have existed in stories for a very long time although wasn't Marc's wife a red herring though? One Konshu intentiontionally misled Marc about making the next Moon Knight to keep him off Jake's back?
But all of the marvel movies have the same type of character and terrible story beats to intro THE REPLACEMENTS OF THE HEROS /BETTER CHARACTERS.
Their doing it in the new antman and ironman 4. Dykey marvel sue gurlboss ran MCU?
SIGN ME UP
Doctor Strange and Loki obvioisly aren't going to be replaced
Loki literally introduced her as the better Loki and bent all of the story to be about her and her bullshit.
Something no one wanted ot asked for.
The only reason she's not replacing him is because of the inevitable backlash.
The same for Dr strange 2. Did the thing where the lead male us a fricking moron and she's super competent marvel sue.
Everyone hated doc stranges portrayal the story her and the story so .much they litterally redid the movie from scratch.
Oh and she's replacing Wanda and will be slotted into some Dr strange appearances.
KYS SHILL
Are you intentionally forgetting Spiderman NWH?
how much of the plot would differ if Chadwick was still alive?
I'd imagine at least half of the movie would be radically different. A lot of the movie is about how Shuri can take up the mantle of BP and whether she can lead like Tchalla could. Namor's reason for attacking Wakanda would be a lot more fleshed out at least.
With the exception of the Namor stuff, it would be a completely different movie. It would have to be. The entire plot is literally "Chadwick, uh, I mean T'Challa died and we're all very sad." And even then, the Namor stuff would have to be changed a great deal because A) T'Challa is a completely different character from Shuri and would react to things differently and B) most of the Namor plot is "I can't believe we have to deal with this Namor shit now, while I'm sad about my dead brother."
According to Ryan Coogler, the original plot would have been about T'Challa being sad about having lost five years of his life from the blip and dealing with the aftermath of it on Wakanda though I think Namor and and the Talokans were always going to be present just because Marvel needs to setup their future movies/shows.
>the original plot would have been about T'Challa being sad about having lost five years of his life from the blip
pretty shit plot tbh, adds basically no complexity at all other than "shit... that sucked"
Yeah, like what would the conflict/arc even be with that?
>Man, I can't believe we didn't stop Thanos and he won for a couple years. But hey, everything's fixed, I'm back now, all my family and friends are still alive/unsnapped, and everything turned out pretty much alright, all things considered. Gonna be weird adjusting to it suddenly being five years later for me, but meh, that's small potatoes, really.
>only black dude has 10 minutes of screentime
I have no reason to watch this
I still can't believe that this movie was near 3 hours long. I don't think I have it in me if future marvel movies are gonna be 3 hours long
Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will probably be three hours.
Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will be the Infinity War and Endgame of everything post-Endgame with who knows how many different characters involved. It makes sense if they're three hours long. Wakanda Forever did not need to be three hours long.
>Opening is a bunch of Chadwick footage than morphs into the Marvel logo.
Quite possibly the most sickening thing I've seen in a movie. The fact that Disney/Marvel are using his corpse to sell a product to the point of making it an effigy for their logo is fricking awful. How can people be praising this as respectful?
Captain Marvel did it with Stan Lee
its literally all the footage of him in marvel properties. The entire movie is an ACTUAL product using his corpse as a plot point. The logo is probably the most respectful thing they did.
It's Disney. Figuratively dragging around a corpse while pretending it's an act of reverence is core to their practices.
It's not the best MCU film overall but it was solid and the best MCU film released since No Way Home.
I'm surprised some people think Wakanda Forever was weaker than the first movie, I thought that film was kind of overrated and the pacing was pretty whack, the story there felt it was constantly switching on /off like how it suddenly just rushed into the final battle.
Here, the story flowed way better and was more engaging even if it's somewhat similar to Black Panther in terms of plot beats and came with baggage like Ironheart or the CIA subplot. Ironically, I think part of it is because I found T'Challa to be a boring protagonist in his own film because he already went through his own arc in Civil War, whereas in Wakanda Forever, Shuri goes through the same arc but this time in an actual BP movie.
Other than having a bit too much plot jammed into it, I thought it was a solid MCU film.
bros... Namor is gonna frick Shuri and become the future King of Wakanda...
Nah Bucky is gonna frick her
Where was bucky?
Where were any of the avengers?
Why didn't they put him in cryofreeze?
Why didn't angels Bassett become the black panther?
Why didn't someone fight shuri to become the new BP/king or queen?
Unlikely since he murdered her mom though he'll probably cuck MCU Reed with Sue.
This midget isn't cucking anyone. You need to let it go Juan. Namor's been an FF-adjascent character based on a fluke due to them finding him as a hobo and bridging the two timelines of Marvel and Timely. You're not getting your daydreams of Hispanic x blondie in the MCU. Go watch some porn already.
You know I thought that too until he drowned the queen
I like how anons keep saying this was a grrl power movie when the girls kept jobbing and the guy was the one that ultimately got what he wanted.
Which ones are your favorite black panther comicbooks?
Mine: secret invasion black panther and shuri as black panther in 2010. Also 2014-2015 new avengers.
did they explain why some of the fish people come back to life and others die?
Yeah, I was confused about this as well. I THINK it was something about being in an area with different pressure (Talokan vs. on land), but it's a single line that's delivered really quickly as Shuri and Nakia are yelling at each other.
Maybe they can heal cuts/stab wounds but not injuries caused by sonic energy guns
I can’t believe they pulled a LoTU 2 on the end.
Was it me or did this movie totally fail on the "the villain is defeated" front? Like I get that Namor is a character you don't necessarily want to kill off after a single appearance, but the way things got resolved just felt so unsatisfying to me. I mean imagine if The Lion King ended - with Scar still being responsible for killing Mufasa and banishing Simba and ruining the Pride Lands and nearly starving everyone to death - with Simba saying "Stop being an butthole and we'll be cool" and then Scar said "Sorry I'll stop being an butthole" and then they were actually cool. Surely there was a way to give us a "HELL YEAH" villain defeat after Namor killed the fricking Queen and still keep him alive to fight another day.
>"Show him who you are"
I mean, I'm a guy who would kill the frick out of someone who drowned my mom in front of me, and I don't think sparing them fundamentally makes me a better person.
Pretty sure the point was that it wasn't really a "Hell Yeah!" defeat as much as it was just a compromise and the Namor's final scene confirms that he basically won at the end.
Sure, but in the meanwhile, it's still a movie and an unsatisfying compromise isn't the greatest way to usher in Shuri's reign as Queen and Black Panther.
I thought it was fine because the Talokans were a genuine threat in the film and logical from the standpoint of a ruler since killing Namor would guarantee the Talokans finishing the job on Wakanda.
It’s like M’Baku said, killing him would cause an eternal war between the nations and generation after generation would die. You have to put what’s best for your people first before your vengeful desires. That’s what makes a great King, Queen or ruler.
I'm not even talking about killing him. I just mean kick his ass and send him and his soldiers back home to not-Atlantis to scheme another day so the audience can say "Good job, Shuri! The mantle of the Black Panther (and the future of the series) is in good hands!" Not have Namor run Shuri through with a fricking spear and then five minutes later have them on the jet together like they're fricking BFFs.
Did you not see the part when she had him on the ground dehydrated? She won. She beat him. And made him go back to the battle and call his people off.
I don't know, I guess it just didn't 'click' with me. Maybe if it ended with Shuri saying "Stay the frick off of the surface world and if you ever pull any shit like this again I won't be so merciful next time" instead of "Let's be besties and I'll keep all your secrets, fish-friend" it would've worked better for me. I dunno. It felt like they wanted to do a traditional "the hero beats the villain" ending but also a "the hero and the villain come to an understanding and become friends" resolution but didn't really commit to either and so it just came out as a lame mix of both.
how do they explain chadwick being gone? how does black panther die?
Assassinated by a Namorian.
T'Challa "had an illness that he told nobody about until it was too late." No, seriously. I couldn't believe it. Like Jesus fricking Christ, I loved Chadwick as much as the next guy, but goddamn.
Did he not tell anyone? That was about his son but I assumed they knew about the disease but they couldn't do anything about it since the herbs got burnt
There's a scene where Shuri says that T'Challa kept it secret for a long time, and by the time he told anyone, it was too late. I'm pretty sure it was the same scene where she says "Why would I have this intelligence and these skills and not be able to save my brother?" I forget if that was the Killmonger scene or not.
They could've just froze him like Bucky and Steve until they can find a cure, or ask Dr. Strange or someone from Asguard for a magical solution.
Since they used the "unnamed special illness" excuse, they could easily just say that it still progressed even during stasis.
>or ask Dr. Strange
Even without the Time Stone, surely someone, something, somewhere in Kamar Taj possesses a "rejuvenate this dead plant" spell. I feel like, as far as magic spells go, that must be a fairly basic one.
I don't think the Wakandans are the type to call in outsiders lile the Avengers to deal with their own problems.
Spider-Man found a cure for 5 supervillains within a day or two. They could've just asked him.
No one knows that though.
I actually agree and I've never cared much for Black Panther. That being said, the movie would've been better with Chadwick.
