Just finished Gotham. I solid show from beginning to end. Excellent cast. I would rank it right along my top 10 comic book list with the likes of Smallville and The Incredible Hulk (Bill Bixby).

just know that the first season is different from the rest of it and the last season is a rushed mess
gotham is literally the best version of batman. it nails the tone batman is always meant to have and minimizes the largest drag on batman stories (the character of batman himself).
It's a very fun show. I always felt that it was a way better show about super criminals and their origins than Joker, which felt like it was actively ashamed to be set in a comic book universe.
Jim Gordon ruined it for me. He was the worst part of the show imo.
I liked him as a hothead in the first couple seasons but when he turned into "dark jim" i started wishing for more harvey bullock scenes.. which were always enjoyable.
I was hopeful when he got fired or quit and became a bounty hunter because the show focused less on him for awhile. But bullock was great, nygma, the penguin, Morena Baccarin, basically everyone but Gordon I liked. And cat girl. Didn't like her actress either.

The only complaint I have about Gotham is that it quickly lost its initial concept of "Batman before Batman" and instead just became Year One, and no I'm not talking about the last season or even the last two.

I watched the first 3 seasons back in 2016. Very comfy show with great production design. Gotham as a city feels more unique and lived-in than Nolan's soulless version.
i loved this show a lot. hot girls, good writing, good acting, just overall fun to watch
