Truthfully I think this RLM review was pretty boring. I know none of them were happy with Afterlife and since he says that this was "ok" they'd go more into what was good and what could they add to make it better instead of what they could cut out. And then it just devolves into taking the piss out of the movie and always comparing it to the original. I was expecting more of a comparison to Ghostbusters 2 as they are both lore and world heavy movies instead of comedies or attempting to be comedies with the first entrees. But none of them liked the 2nd that much, so what can a fan expect?
I saw this shit movie. When the girl and the ghost lady are on screen, it does seem like "now kiss" is going to happen eventually, but it doesn't. Afterlife and Frozen Empire tried to do this balancing act where they pandered to old fans while trying to pull in kids too, and both movies are worse off for it. Like, I get it. They were hoping old fans would bring their kids to see these movies and get them on the merch train. Problem is, most of these millennials are overgrown children themselves and don't even have any kids.

You do realize millennials began being born in 1981, right? Older millennials grew up watching the OG Ghostbusters movie, The Real Ghostbusters cartoon and Ghostbusters 2. Even younger millennials also had the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon.
I do agree that the first GB movie was a success due to boomers and gen Xers, but the franchise took off due to the cartoon and toy line, and obviously those were aimed at kids, who at the time were the last of the gen xers and the first of the millennials.
There's also the issue that if old fans have gotten their kids hooked on Ghostbusters, they've done so with Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, which aren't kid movies, so why make Afterlife and Frozen Empire kid movies?

Got dragged to this movie last week. Absolutely stuffed with 'I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT!' moments during one of which a chick in front of me literally clapped in the middle of the movie.
All of the original actors seem either phoning it in or straight up bored to be there - particularly Murray.

In most movies like this the old guys from the franchise are either surly losers chided for their failures or abandoning their families. In After Life Egon was vindicated for abandoning his daughter because he was preparing and watching for the return of Gozer. All the other old cast are willing to help and support the new cast. There is no unnecessary resentment like in other films towards men.

I know none of them were happy with Afterlife and since he says that this was "ok" they'd go more into what was good and what could they add to make it better instead of what they could cut out. In After Life Egon was vindicated for abandoning his daughter because he was preparing and watching for the return of Gozer. All the other old cast are willing to help and support the new cast. There is no unnecessary resentment like in other films towards men.
