I only read "greatest show" and came in to post Leftovers but i see you were correct. It is the best drama ever made and Justin Theroux carried that show on his back. He needs more recognition.
>Justin Theroux carried that show on his back
He's obviously flawless, but saying he carried the show is incorrect. Carrie Coon and Christopher Eccleston also were stellar and at the same level as Justin, and we're not even mentioning Ann Dowd, or even Amy Brenneman who imo also did a really great job. Also literally every secondary character was perfect. Hell, even the extras lol. This show is perfect in that regard.
There were some great actors but Justin was leagues above them imo. Even his other show Mosquito Coast he is so damn good. Easily my favorite actor because of this show.
He made me watch that shit show Maniac and that shit movie Mute because he was in them.
I only saw the first season so far and i really liked it. Its rare these days for a show to have a close knit family that isn't constantly backstabbing each other and work together.
Its kind of a prequel to the book and gives the family stronger motivation to want to go to the coast besides "le wacky inventor man drags family."
The kids were both believeable characters too.
Mostly what ive seen from Apple has been good (severance) or at least unique (servant) but i haven't seen much from it.
>greatest TV show of all time >has Black folk in it
not possible
i dont watch anything that has brown "people" in it
they look like poop ahaha GROSS plus they smell like it too lol disgusting NO THANKS
I dont think the first season had brown or black people in it.
Second season had a pretty based black family. I almost turned it off when the first episode was centered on them but im glad i didn't.
There's a reason for the sun-shining sky
And there's a reason why I'm feeling so high
Must be the season
When that love light shines all around us
So let that feeling grab you deep inside
And send you reeling where your love can't hide
And then go stealing
Through the moonlit nights with your lover
Just let your love flow like a mountain stream
And let your love grow with the smallest of dreams
And let your love show and you'll know what I mean
It's the season
Let your love fly like a bird on a wing
And let your love bind you to all living things
And let your love shine and you'll know what I mean
That's the reason
Not sure if I cried harder at this or at the finale of LOST. Either way, this is 10/10 elite-tier kinography. Just a goddamn travesty that so many people either never gave this show a chance to begin with, or gave up sometime in season 1.
Carrie Coon does it slightly more convincingly than Justin Theroux, in my opinion. Don't have any webms ready but see:
>the scene where she hugs holy Wayne >that epic questionnaire scene in "Lens" >the scene in season 3 where she explains her Wu-Tang Band tattoo to Erika
I'm probably missing loads of other scenes, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.
still going on buddy, let's try to keep it that way
What's the consensus here? Was she telling the truth?
initially I believed her. Like many others said, she sounded so convincing that the opposite never crossed my mind. But now, I think her lying feels more natural and more in line with the whole show. It's all about faith, about belief, about what makes us go on even if it's not true. So her making it all up as a way to finally get over it and be with Kevin feels correct to me, idk. But that's what's great about the show, anyone can think the contrary about any of the things I said and still may be valid. Endless discussion 🙂
I don't like the last season. Seems like they had a season or two worth of ideas that got shoved into not even quite one season, and it's very disjointed and half told.
The concept is interesting though, and the fact that they never really outright stated if he was actually special or not is at least different. Tried to be too deep for it's good though.
I love The Leftovers but I don't understand how anyone can say it's better than The Sopranos or Deadwood or Rome or Mad Men or a half dozen other shows

been wanting to watch that one for a while, I'm sure he is good, but how's the show? Do you recc it as a whole?

sounds cool, haven't read the book, only wanted to watch it because of Justin. But I'll definitely watch it, thanks 🙂
His uncle wrote the book and worked closely with production so its still got the spirit of it.
>Justin Theroux carried that show on his back.
Ann Dowd was the best actor on the show though
>you haven't done anything for me
>you did it for yourself
How do you respond without sounding mad?
>Is that why you're killing me?

every time I watch this scene I think Justin is the only actor who can convincingly cry on film lol

So dumb yet pure feelskino.
This and LOST are the only shows to achieve this.
Did you frick him, Cinemaphile?
>first Leftovers thread in like a month
>it immediately dies
Why can't we have nice things on this board?

she was obviously lying, I remember the midwit seethe on here afterwards where people believed her
