It really does seem like they have an extremely limited budget, and the scope of the story is bigger than they can afford. The art style is about as efficient as they can be, but unfortunately, it comes off as lazy.
Honestly, not as much as I thought. The cops were actual reasonable after the webm. Other than webm related, there is *maybe* one scene other scene that one could stretch to racial social commentary.

I don't get it... the Chinese have been trying to hold him back his whole life? What? Who wrote this?

Watch the movie. His whole life he was outclassed or felt inferior because of Asians (examples include being rejected by an Asian girl in school, missing out on scholarships to an Asian guy so he had to join the marines, his commanding officer was an Asian veteran who belittled him, etc.).

He's been fricked over by the colour yellow his whole life? Rough.
literally no reason to not burn the hobo
they had already lighted a match and having him burn would likely distract the nog who would be trying to save the hob
/co/nnoisseur here >Anime has it's distinct frenetic style by animating on 2s instead of 1s >which means showing 1 frame 2x >this saves time and resources animating >but also produces more dynamic and faster feeling action sequences
The original Batman: The Animated Series was animated on 1s. Meaning they never reused frames. >Majority of fans see the actions scenes from these early episodes as feeling slower, sluggish, sloppier. and less interesting. >After Superman: TAS >Bruce Timm influenced by Anime and having worked for years with Asian animation studios >Decided to switch to animating action scenes in 2s >Majority of fans see the DCAU onward as having more engaging, speedy, chaotic, and hectic fight scenes >Timm says it's hard for him to watch the original BTAS fights for this reason
So 12fps with interpolated frames is the superior framerate for animation.
Green Lantern just seems confused and bored the whole movie. Not like he's some dude suddenly swept up in an intergalactic adventure, but like he's following two stoned friends on a burger run or something. I like Aldis Hodge but this was a weirdly restrained role.
The animation was terrible and the script and everything was super bare. The only good part was that Hawkgirl is hilariously edgy.
Yea, like others said, I think the bare story line with a larger production budget could have potential, but there were just too many corners cut. Still, good weekday evening flick.
I wouldn't watch it again but it was passable. Green Lantern seems to be cursed to never actually have a good movie. Some of those animated DC movies are decent but this one was really fighting to stay above shit tier.
Batman Ninja will never be surpassed.
First flight was okay, dont like how Boodika became a villain pre alpha lantern but whatever. New frontier was good and that was essentially a GL movie. The problems with GL media thats not the comicsis they miss the whole appeal of Hal, hes bold, hes dumb but hes also kind, hes brave to the point of stupid like being a pilot after seeing his dad become a corpse from flying, hes not afraid to reach for the sky untethered. I think that's why hes always gonna be the fan favorite Guy is great and Kyle has his moments, John cant shine since hes always in a corpsman role but Hal is just the man without fear
He's also best bros with Hal Jordan. Ollie is a loudmouth liberal, but he's also stubborn and hard-headed. He's not the type to concede to black dudes just because.
It was more Johns iirc. Man that was awful also in the comic they cemented that Carter and Kendra were reincarnators but the twist is john is too and Carter gets cucked in every reincarnation. Awful shit also they showed katma tui in the show so what the frick
That Hal was infected by a yellow power parasite and turned evil and killed all the Lanterns. He became Sinestro's boss and is now the mastermind of the world ending plot.
>using the parasite >not making it at the very least ambiguous
Meh. Parallax is more fun when it's just Hal going schizo. Him playing Spectre afterwards is neat too, if the movie went with that.
You think about it, the Green lantern corps spans the entire universe. Millions of planets, but only like a few thousand rings. Somehow like five lanterns are all on earth? What makes terra so special
Its not one (2 in recent lore) per planet numbnuts its per sector, the reason why Earth has 6 is cause Hal, Guy, Kyle and John are Honor guard and corps leader so they're stationed in deepspace
shit twist. why include or work in parallax at all? Why destroy the whole corp if you're not gonna give Jordan good motivation to do it like had when coast city got nuked?
It's just escalation for the sake of escalation and it sucks.
notyet
Shitty and lazy art. Nope. I only watch animation where the artists actually have talent and give a shit about their craft.
The art in the OP looks pretty decent.
It really does seem like they have an extremely limited budget, and the scope of the story is bigger than they can afford. The art style is about as efficient as they can be, but unfortunately, it comes off as lazy.
The worst part is that it gets worse as the movie goes on, I swear at one point it was like 15 FPS. Still, was entertaining
those aren't military moves
He probably took some martial art classes at some point
how much BLM shit is in this?

would have made more sense if it was a blue ring
literally no reason to not burn the hobo
they had already lighted a match and having him burn would likely distract the nog who would be trying to save the hob
>"waaaah you can't just set people on fire"
SJWs really took over DC haven't they?
This looks like pretty decent, standard animation to me. Then again, I don't watch cartoons because I'm not autist
You can just tell that there was about twelves writers and as many edits for this scene.

Thats really interesting. Good post
Saw the tailer
>Kill off Hal just to big up John
Easiest pass I'd ever make
Seriously?

wrong webm.
isn't green arrow supposed to be super liberal?
He's also best bros with Hal Jordan. Ollie is a loudmouth liberal, but he's also stubborn and hard-headed. He's not the type to concede to black dudes just because.
>He's not the type to concede to black dudes just because
have you met a modern liberal?
Does it cement the JohnKara ship that Timm made? Because if so, I'll fricking burn the studio down, I swear to god
Kara isn't even in this and Jon Stewart has no chemistry with anybody at all. He's just kind of there.
It was more Johns iirc. Man that was awful also in the comic they cemented that Carter and Kendra were reincarnators but the twist is john is too and Carter gets cucked in every reincarnation. Awful shit also they showed katma tui in the show so what the frick
It's not on kimcartoon yet
Anywhere else?
recommend some streaming kino
I just got a copy from rmz cr
It had Lyssa Drak animated which made it all worth it
off a much hated 90s comic story arc without even any of the tact or slow decent i to madness
>>good twist
What was the twist?
That Hal was infected by a yellow power parasite and turned evil and killed all the Lanterns. He became Sinestro's boss and is now the mastermind of the world ending plot.
Yikes sounds awful. Parallax Hal was kino tho
wait they actually did the Hal goes batshit plot?
does he get redeemed at the end?
___________nope______________
>using the parasite
>not making it at the very least ambiguous
Meh. Parallax is more fun when it's just Hal going schizo. Him playing Spectre afterwards is neat too, if the movie went with that.
Just watched it because of this post.
It was all right 7.5/10, plot twist pretty predictable.
I don't buy into black superheroes
Not racist, I just don't get it
Black Panther, Luke Cage, Cyborg, Blade, Storm are pretty cool.
Maybe one day you'll appreciate em.
I just don't see black people that way
Hate to break it you, but you're racist.
Why?
>I don't like something with black people
>I'm not racist
pick fricking 1 and don't be a moron
What definition of racism are we using here?

becuase earth was is where the white latern resides "life"
How many universe-spanning death threats show up on Earth nearly daily? Keeping at least 3 on planet at all times and a couple on call is a safe bet.
Is Spider-Man in it? If not, hard pass.
Idk how you exist outside of Cinemaphile
The only DC adaptation I was ever looking forward to was of Red Son and they royally messed that up.
>Red Son
Goddamn. Thanks for reminding me about that hot diarrhea
shit twist. why include or work in parallax at all? Why destroy the whole corp if you're not gonna give Jordan good motivation to do it like had when coast city got nuked?

>Black person lantern
into le trash
Could someone please webm the part where Hal is choking on dic- I mean Parallax?
