The really really bad part of Zero Hour is most of the story follows a bunch of literally who new characters that never caught on for good reason like Waverider

They didn’t do that? The Lost Lanterns explicitly wanted to kill Hal for what he did and Hal had to win back their trust
They were pretty much the only Lanterns who didn't forgive him and now there are just two of them left, most of them killed by Johns.

No matter how hard DC tries, they'll never get rid of Hal. He will always be the MC of the GLC and the rest of the corps' jobs will always be to worship him.
There's literally 0 interest in the GLC without Hal and there's nothing DC can do to change that. Only person who even comes close to taking over the MC role is Kyle but black fever will try its hardest to not let that happen.

I liked it, but the Parallax reveal was bad. In the comics it was the destruction of Hal's hometown along with the Smurf's not letting him mourn that caused his heelturn. Sure, it was retconned into a yellow bug, but that was years later. Here, it was a yellow... snake? mini-dragon? that went into his mouth while he was naked that turned him evil for... reasons.
Hal wasn't that powerful, his heel-turn made little sense, and since this was his first movie, we didn't know who Hal was or cared about his heel turn. Even Ollie killing him felt off, since he knew it wasn't Hal doing this but the slugdragon.
Still enjoyable, but the last bit and the climax could have been better.

I don't really mind them adapting Emerald Twilight because I actually like that story, but the terrible part is that they don't give Hal any motivation for going evil. In the actual story Hal was grieving his destroyed city while also being influenced by the Parallax demon (which is a retcon, sure). But in this shit fricking movie he just gets infected with parallax and "lol k i'm evil now". At least if they do that they should give him a hint of wanting to be redeemed
