>Grodd created a pretty solid super villain organization which was, for a time, doing effectively at keeping the villains protected and getting one-up on the Justice League
>Unfortunately, it was all a build up to a moronic "turn everyone into apes" plan
>No one lifted a finger or gave a frick when Lex took over...
>...until it became apparent that Luthor was a worse slave driver and ego maniac in his quest to merge with Brainiac, even though he did promise them positions of power in the new world order
>Civil war imminent
>The vast majority chose Grodd
Which side would you have thrown your chips in with, Cinemaphile?
The guy who treated you relatively well but had a moronic master plan, or the guy who treated you like shit but promised a huge reward if he pulled it off?

Grodd 'cause gorilla.
>hot monkey dick
I think gorillas have smaller dicks than humans.
But gorirrlas are physically superior.
I don't remember, do Gordd's gorillas turn moronic or is it human intellect with gorilla power?
no, people just turn into gorilla but stay mostly the same aside from that
this was the most disappointing shit ever
Based taste in artist
He has another picture of Ultra Humanite fricking Grodd.
that being?
i just wanna steal for god's sake
>Killer Frost straight up murdering her fellow rebels to save her ass
Brutal.
>I prefer to operate independently but thanks for the offer
>anyone vs the guy who's too evil to wash his hands
The choice is pretty obvious.
Better what if
>Merging with a machine AI and gaining godlike knowledge and power
OR
>getting on with a hot witch who puts out and ruling over the largest supervillain group in the world.
Thots are fickle, Brainiac is forever
>pretty solid
>unfortunately
>until
>even though
Bruh, Bro, Bruv, Brethren... Grodd's Secret Society was an exploitative mess. The way he explained it to Luthor was that it was basically a supervillain co-op but he assumed a house tax without risking himself ever. You went through the effort to plan a job, and had to let Grodd in on it so he could shop around to other supervillains for it. And frick if half of his Society's "Jobs" made a lick of sense under that model. But it's also a fricking death cult since his only actual contribution is to put villains that are captured into a coma so they don't rat out the society or possibly even him specifically. He does this to Giganta who has been nothing but loyal, in fact loyal to him personally and WASNT going to drop the dime on him. To say nothing that the Society clearly wasn't making bank on a 80% of a bunch of monk souls or w/e. That's before becoming apes.
Luthor, even though he took a larger cut, and talks to himself, actually fricking provided services as top banana each member couldn't just do for themselves if there wasn't a rule against it.
He enhanced all of the Society's superpowers.
He LEAD and used his intellect to help the members of the Society achieve their aims. Roulette isn't making any money with Metabrawl? Luthor, in some number of hours, assembled a plan and possibly the components and methods that allowed not just for her to pack a stadium larger than she's ever had but at the same time also to weaken the Justice League while also conscripting them into Metabrawl.
The Society wants a payday? He plans a heist of a country's entire GDP.
He wants the society to help him rebuild Brainiac: He offers them world domination.
I would rather join in a evil enterprise than a cult.
I do like the idea of a super Villian org that's basically VA trade union.
>villains that are captured into a coma so they don't rat out the society
I would've liked a heist episode with them trying to recover the villains. Make it Secret Six to parallel off the Suicide Squad episode.
Better question is who The Pincher would have joined.
Batman villains stay in Gotham, thats's the rule.
Unless it's joker. Joker does whatever the frick.
He pinches the last piece of Brainiac and takes an escape pod to New Genesis
What need have gods for the aid of mortals?
He would've said he's "not a joiner" got murdered by whoever he turned down, then it's revealed that just prior to that murder he pinched a bit of their McGuffin, completely scuffing their entire plan.
Or if you want a more serious tone, he's the one to leak info to the Justice League as he dies.
Can I frick Tiny Kong of I help Grod
No, but his simian-derived associate Giganta can also shrink in size to suit her mood.
Looked this issue up out of curiosity and got an unexpected chuckle a few pages in.
Huh
I'm joining the side that lets me frick Tala and Livewire.
Grodd was black-coded so of course they made him the more reasonable and less sadistic one.
wouldn't Brainiac just blow up the planet anyway? Why ever side with Luthor?
Luthor wanted to merge with Brainiac, blending his creativity with Brainiac's power to remake the universe.
It's sad that I think Parasite is the biggest name on Grodd's side
From what I can recall Grodd's heavy hitters were:
>Parasite
>Tala
>Killer Frost
>Silver Banshee
Oof poor Silver Banshee
It's fricking insane. Atomic Skull, Star Sapphire and Sinestro were all on the bridge when Grodd came in with the Cadre, Banshee,
Hellgrammite, KGBeast, The Key, Merlyn, The Monocle, Talia, Rampage, Parasite and Goldface. And before anything else happened Bizarro, who thinks Luthor is his mommy burst in through the floor and started shoryukening Godd.
That rebellion shouldn't have gotten into minute number two.
parasite alone can beat everyone else.
hes supermans unbeatable villain that requires bad writing and him jobbing to ever lose.
i wana be nice but what the frick would sinestro do against parasite?
lets assume this is a green lantern story and lantern rings actually work as intended giving their users basically every or close enough super power you could think of.
parasite doesn’t follow conventional logic and would literally just copy the emotional spectrums power alongside everyone elses at that point its over.
parasite functions basically like amazo who jobs more often.
>parasite alone can beat everyone else.
Not inside a forcefield.
? this is stupid wouldn’t parasite just absorb the emotional spectrum forcefield?
isn’t he usually defeated by being knocked out and or sedated or calmed down telepathically and then depowered before he gets out of hand?
the problem is villains aren’t nearly as competent as heroes and with so many for parasite to steal powers from all he needs is one or two nasty combinations and its over.
if anything sending out the heavy hitters like sinestro or bizarro would be a terrible idea.
parasite and amazo basically function the same way storywise in supe comics.
you don’t beat them with brute force but by outplaying them.
>wouldn’t parasite just absorb the emotional spectrum forcefield?
No. Parasite absorbs the life force of living things. A power ring construct isn't alive. From 0 the best Parasite could do against against a power ring is drain the user of their life force, then using their memories and specific force of personality take the ring to use. Until either the ring's energy or the life energy he stole ran out. Though that's a problem since he needs direct contact to drain their life force and all of them are going to have fight with personal force fields as a matter of habit.
>the problem is villains aren’t nearly as competent as heroes
Sinestro tends to be. Not to wank him or anything but he is the only reason anyone in the Secret Society survived Darkseid.
>and with so many for parasite to steal powers from all he needs is one or two nasty combinations and its over.
With major goddamn caveats.
1. He needs the opportunity AND time to feed on enemies in order to be strengthening his side. If he feeds on his allies he's making them weaker. Investing all of Team Grodd's powers in Parasite to 1v30 the rest of the society wouldn't work as a numbers game.
2. Parasite isn't very well in control of his powers, especially in the DCAU. He'll get weaknesses and liabilities absorbed along with the powers. It's how Supes beat him every time and a second way Amazo is clearly superior to him. Also he can lose his personality or control of himself if he absorbs a much stronger mind.
>if anything sending out the heavy hitters like sinestro or bizarro would be a terrible idea.
Au Contraire: it would be fricking hilarious to see Parasite after he absorbed Bizarro.
>you don’t beat them with brute force but by outplaying them.
Right and he isn't the brightest, and he is in his element when he is daisychaining between lone, unsupported targets.
are you the one parasitegay on the planet
>Brainiac is shown to be male
>Luthor plans to merge with him
>thus his plan is to get inside another man
I would not side with Luthor on the basis that his goal is gay
At the end of the day no matter what he promised, Grodd was gonna try & turn them all into monkeys. I'll take my chances with Lex.
What I don't get is why Grodd thought the villains would be on board with being turned into monkeys.
what was the point of turning everyone into gorillas?
To corner the textiles industry just as everyone needed new clothes.
why do gorillas need clothes
they would still be humans on the inside, and humans are very self conscious
>Team Grodd
Tala
Parasite
Blockbuster
Shade
Copperhead
Key
Hellgrammite
Goldface
Neutron
Silver Banshee
Dr. Cyber
Crowbar
Meryn
Angle Man
Weather Wizard
Monocle
Rampage
Speedball
>Team Luthor
Toyman
Bizarro
Atomic Skull
Cheetah
Giganta
Volcana
Star Sapphire
Sinestro
Evil Star
Heatwave
Dr. Destiny shown post fight among the survivors loyal to Luthor but MIA
>Defecators to Luthor Most shown alive post fight but MIA when Darksied blew up the ship
Blood Sport
KGBeast
Lady Lunar
Killer Frost (only defector from Grodd's side shown to have lived.)
Major Disaster
Luthor had the quality villains while Grodd had the numbers in the beginning. Then there were folks like Gentleman Ghost and Metallo who were arrested pre-Alive! or disappeared from the Legion like Livewire and Queen Bee. Presumably the members who weren't present in the episode were spared from the fighting.
Shame that Heatwave and Weather Wizard turned against each other
>follow the guy that wants to turn everyone into apes
>or the guy that's talking to himself and obsessing over his dead robot husbando
I'm loyal to whoever paid me and wasn't defeated. So, Luthor.
Grodd, because he has the master plan.
I'd side with Grodd personally, then I'd pretend I was Team Lex all along like Killer Frost did.
Man I'm still bummed the show ended with Darkseid instead of the Legion going to war with the JLU like they had been hyping up.
If I were a villain why would I align myself with other villains in the first place? Outside of helping me kill my arch nemesis, they wouldn’t be furthering any of my goals.
I’d simply blow up random Lex corp facilities as a response.
It depends on what type od villain you were. There's enough "shocker" type villains that only care about making money in the DC universe to warrant a proper organization.
why is Grodd obsessed with everyone being gorillas? if anything, why not make himself human? or work to change the definition of "human" to encompass any and all sapient beings, with humanity referring to the collective and homosexual sapiens being assigned a different identifier? I dunno, he values his intelligence but hates humans but actual gorillas are dumb compared to him so... or would the gorillas have the same intelligence as him after being changed from humans??? what... is he autistic???
Side with Grodd
Betray Grodd during Ape Transformation by siding with heroes
Once Grodd is defeated and removed from power, cut ties with hero alliance, go back to villainy
Reinstate DCAU Ultra-Humanite or DCAU Vandal Savage as new leader of Villain Society
"turn everyone into apes" sounds like a dope plan. I'm in.
having worked alongside morons with the same computing power as those villains
Whichever one was less recent and had personally insulted them less. Luthor loses because being a bigger c**t more recent in memory is way worse
