      What?

        Anonymous

If you don't want spoilers, don't watch the trailer.
Basically the guy stuck at the concert where they're trying to find a serial killer is revealed to be a serial killer
Maybe the additional twist is that he isn't the one they're looking for, or that he's targeting that specific serial killer too

Hmmm almost like its some kind of misdirect.

the guy he has tied up in his house is the killer, and he decided to basically enact revenge but now he looks like the actual killer
or there are two killers, and he shows up at the concert to catch him, but the killer at the concert told police about him and framed him as the killer

The asian guy in the basement is the Butcher and the dad captured him trying to kill his daughter, so now he plans to torture him to death after the concert.

so many ppl saying this, but it makes no sense. why would josh hartnet (sp) bug out then? he'd just enjoy his time and go home and do what he had to do.

      Easiest twist to guess.

      Anonymous

Yeah, the trailer is showing scenes from two different narrative viewpoints, meaning one version is "live and happening" and the other is someone re-telling the events in hindsight.

The daughter (and wife) are capping online trolls that attack their father (a writer), he eventually finds out (it's the daughter's phone with the asian kid tied to a chair) then decides to take the fall for them. Re-writes the entire movie from this new perspective where he was le evil mastermind.

Actually not too bad. An important element of twists is that should have another dimension to them (emotional, in this case) so you can still watch it while knowing what the turn is.

Poopnight may have actually finally discovered how to do a non-stupid twist. Good casting too. Didn't think Josh Hartnett had this kinda "dark fun" side to him.

The "red flash" thing is interesting. I wonder if that's the "switch" signal between the live/hindsight timelines.

The MC is a writer (Mnight's stand in)
Online trolls give him shit for being a failed one-trick pony (us here and on twitter I guess)
His wife and daughter (Mnight's daughter is now a filmmaker too - the apple of her daddy's eye) have been tracking these trolls down and butchering them (Mnight's fantasy that his daughter "will show those nasty internet trolls who's boss")
MC and Daughter go to Taylor Swift concert or some shit
Turns out it's been set up as a trap for "The Butcher"
(I have no idea why they think The Butcher would come to this concert - this hasn't been leaked)
MC, having been trolled by Cinemaphile is naturally in a paranoid, ptsd state of mind and expecting Ninjas to attack him at any moment feels uneasy about all the cops everywhere. Maybe the trolls have SWATted him a few times? So he perhaps thinks they've set him up for Terrorist Alert Level Mega-SWAT?
Finds out they're there for The Butcher. Have they been told HE'S the Butcher? Did Cinemaphile set up a Serial Killer Hyper-SWAT on this lolcow?
He gets antsy and even more paranoid. Starts acting guilty. Other people notice. As police presence gets heavier people start sussing what's going on.
He becomes a focal figure in everyone's mind (including the audience of the movie).
Somewhere along the line he gets hold of his daughter's phone, figure's out the passcode and sees a live-stream of one of his trolls being set up for slaughter.
Maybe this is how The Butcher operates? "He" live streams the murder while the writer is taken somewhere extremely public by his daughter or wife, while the other murders the troll.
Because of the link between the trolls and the writer he has naturally come under suspicion as a suspect. But the cops can never break his allibi, bc his wife or daughter is always giving him one of these public events to use.

            2/2
Blah Blah Blah, he figures out what they're doing.
Realizes the cops are closing in on the wife and the mother (someone figured out their trick).
Decides to claim responsibility, and the "Red Flash" bit in the trailer are his retelling of the events of the movie WE saw, where he pretends that he was the mastermind Butcher man all along.
Perhaps these "Red Flashes" are excerpts from a book he has written about "his murders". The twist being that these trolls who made him miserable, and made him lose his confidence, end up being the subject of his great new book which is a best seller. Even if he ends up in jail for the rest of his life, it's okay, because his wife and daughter are in the clear and did this "nice" thing for him (brutally murdered his critics).

This is all a mix of guesswork and seeing some of the leaks and the cues in the trailer as explained in my og post.
Reminder that Mnight made himself a kind of "revolutionary writer" in The Lady in the Water, so he has a preddy crazy ego and would write something this silly about himself being the poor victim of internet meanbois.

If this is true, it's an enjoyably camp over-step. So I hope the movie's watchable at least, maybe even genuinely good (in a dark, silly way)

This is the most obvious one, as if he's been trapped helping his child carry out her murderous urges. But I feel like he's the one who tipped off the Feds that the killer would be there so she could finally get caught and get help. BUT seeing such a huge police presence in real time, coupled with how happy she is at the concert, he's having a change of heart and now as to figure out a way to save her.

The twist, I think, is that this is going to be set in the Unbreakable universe. The trailer hints at this when it says it’s from “the universe of M. Night Shyamalan,” and it’s another single-word title that would fit in with Unbreakable, Split, and Glass.

So how does this "trap" exactly work? Seeing all the police and security, wouldn't the killer just say "Huh, too risky. better luck next time I guess" and abstain from killing anyone during the concert?

Or will they want to arrest Josh Harnett for being a middle-aged white dude who fits the profile the most?

Yeah, I don't get how the "trap" works either. Why would he be worried? But I guess if they know The Butcher is going to be at the concert, then they probably know who he is? i'm going with the kid knows her dad is a serial killer and does it too. Most of the film you'll think he's trying to keep her from finding out. Then she'll probably turn around and kill someone and reveal shes also a sick frick in the final act.

The twist is the dad is looking for the serial killer. The Asian guy tied up is an accomplice/hire for the serial killer.

The guy tied in the chair actually already escaped and was the one to notify the cops/feds. The video we see is him acting like he's tied up. Using the evidence from MC's house, the cops are able to anticipate all his moves and simply let the MC think he's slowly escaping.

MC was trapped as soon as he got to the concert.

The only realistic twist I could see is that the daughter knows and she's the one who ratted on him, but then why not just have the cops come to the house instead of the concert? I can't really see any way that that cops could know he'd be at this concert but not know who he is. I assume they'll just leave it unexplained.
