Since Tekken 8 will have simultaneous home and arcade release, EXVS2 would have to do double duty to earn back all those lost revenue from Tekken not being an arcade only game for 2 years.

Yeah but this was the biggest arcade game in Japan. Whole floors in arcades were dedicated to it. Even if everything else declines, this is probably doing so at a much slower rate. Still doesn't excuse them rarely porting them. They make bullshit like Evolution instead of their most popular game. They port Battle Operation 2 instead of making a PC port of the arcade games. Honestly feels like they're hoarding the game.

A one-time payment of $60 USD is not enough for any large game publisher anymore, they all want more money and would gladly keep it as an arcade coin-op for continuous payouts. They would only ever make it on console or PC if they had some way of guaranteeing an influx of money. That's why new shit comes with premium shops or a paid subscription. Otherwise all you get is a shit port of an already poorly optimized game or some weird new game that is trying to become the new esports sensation

EXVS2OB has some fricked up battle pass that increases the amount a person pays to play the game and players getting less out of the game from paying for the 500 yen to 1000 yen card passes in arcades without having to pay into the battle pass.
