Old veteran animators are retiring/dying
There was a fricking pandemic you fricktard. Australian lockdowns prevented locations scouting and backed up the entire production schedule. Quit b***hing.
literally just use google maps
lol
why are japs so moronic
>watches porn
>'ah yes I am having sex for real'
you think all those hentai artists actually have had sex before to better understand it so they can draw better?
>Hentai
>Like real sex
>t. Incel
I'm glad people as stupid as you will never be around any film or animation production.
The pandemic wasnt real. They were just lazy and didnt want to go to australia.
>lazy and didnt want to go to australia.
Yes they didn't want to go on the company sponsored vacation. Brilliant deduction.
Australia isn't real. No one wants to go there.
>Australia isn't real.
No lies detected.
t. schoolshooterstanians
How did they colony drop Sydney then?!?!
They colony dropped the middle of the ocean and it created a new land mass that they use to crash colony debris on to create "cities"
Why do they reuse that one shot of the colony drop? Aren't there supposed to be cameras everywhere for public safety? It's not the 2020 get with the times.
Not an excuse anymore. Especially when Mappa and Ufotable put good shit out, and Toei upped their own ante with One Piece in the past few years.
Neither of them had to conduct location scouting. If the Philippines accuracy wasn't an indicator, pull your head out if your ass.
And even with australia's awful covid strictness, it is still not an issue.
They’re also adapting from manga, so in terms of concept art there’s less work they have to do.
Bandai Sunrise is stretched between too many Gundam projects at once. They had to animate G-Reco series and movies , GWitch series, the new Seed movie, Gundam Origin Films, Gundam Narrative Movie, SD Gundam, and whatever new Build shit they keep making.
You do realize they have over 9 studios and can manage just fine. They're hardly stretched thin. Although NT was a rush job to tie in with the statue, so...
>You do realize they have over 9 studios and can manage just fine.
You do realize that Sunrise animates other anime besides Gundam right?
9 studios was before the BNP split. BNP is animating random seasonal crap like "Monogatari" (unrelated to Bakemonogatari).
Irrelevant.
IIRC, only around 2 or 3 studios are allocated for Gundam. 4 if we include Beyond but they are now slowly starting to make their own thing that isn't Gundam
Not to mention they also have a ton of big projects outside of Gundam that are in development too.
Otomo has a new original film, fricking AKIRA of all things is getting a new adaptation too, and Code Geass Z is still happening. Plus we just got the announcement like a month ago that Sunrise is also gonna be handling the next Macross series which is also just fricking insane.
But alongside all the the anime industry is also going through a particularly tumultuous economic time right now.
Even G-Witch, had a shitton of scheduling issues and had to pull in a crazy amount of animators for some episodes, and that was for a 24 episode show that doesn't even need to meet theatrical standards.
I can't imagine what they're going through for these more high profile projects.
>Otomo has a new original film, fricking AKIRA of all things is getting a new adaptation too, and Code Geass Z
These are lying dead in the grave beside Mirai Arise
>fricking AKIRA of all things is getting a new adaptation too
been hearing about this for like 7 years this is not happening lmao
They want it to actually be good and not a cheap cash grab
They should've adapted something other than Hathaway's Flash then.
that's dumb and gay anon
tomino wants/wanted to be a novelist so I'm willing to bet he puts a hell of a lot more love into gundam books compared to any anime post zeta
The backgrounds are from photos and so they'd need to travel to Australia for the second one which they couldn't do until last year, so the movie only began production last or this year. It's 2-3 years off, and the final one is another 3-4 years from that.
>tfw I'm old enough to remember doom posting about "sunrise doesn't consider gundam important anymore" threads due to Unicorns episode delays.
I guess Hathaway kits didn’t sell very well, Unicorn kits are some of the best selling kits in gunpla history, the ayylmao looking Xi and Penelope just can’t reach the same popularity
I thought everyone loved Xi Gundam since the novel's release
even before the movies and official kit releases, nobody would assume Hathaway's flash would even be acknowledged outside of appearances in some gundam games cause the designs aren't very casual friendly. The fact that bandai actually made official model kits of those two giants is just amazing, for good or the bad.
Honestly this. The Penelope and Xi were in the "fricking never" box way back in the day. I still remember people arguing we'd never see them in gunpla form back in the 00's on the mahq forums.
>the designs aren't very casual friendly.
What do you mean? As in they don't have much fan appeal and thus wouldn't sell very many kits? Or that the kits would be difficult to manufacture? Or that the designs would be too difficult to animate on screen?
>Hathaway kits
IIRC there were barely any.
there was like 3
Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see how many Narrative had.
5
>Xi Penelope and Messer
>Narrative A & C Sinanju Stein and Phenex
Bandai proving that NT was indeed the superior movie
Narrative wasn't good and all of those kits except the Stein are shelfwarmers
cope Xi and Penelope also shelfwarm
Xi's HGUC kit outsold Aerial's HG kit in 2022. There's a reason why Bandai's executive had to quantify Aerial's sales as best initial sales for a television lead HG and the G-Witch threads on Cinemaphile seethe any time gunpla comes up.
>the G-Witch threads on Cinemaphile seethe any time gunpla comes up.
Fricking what
The average g-witch poster on Cinemaphile is allergic to plastic if it isn't shaped like Suletta or Miorine. The ones that were actually interested in gunpla because of the show became refugees in the gunpla general.
Also they kept getting angry at the revenue chart that had the 185,000 yen Sazabi at number 1 because some dude did the math and pointed out how just 1 Metal Custom Sazabi purchase was worth something like 143 Aerial HG purchases. Even 1 Xi HGUC purchase was worth 3 Aerial HG purchases.
>they kept getting angry at the revenue chart that had the 185,000 yen Sazabi at number 1
Jesus Christ, G-Witch Cinemaphile posters are making me feel bewildered
Funny enough the entire ordeal of kits sold, revenue, and all the other fun financial shit is that it came out that RG Hi-Nu was the best selling kit overall for a second fiscal year in a row. It dominated fiscal 22 and still held firm at the top in fiscal 23.
The revenue chart itself was basically just RGs and metal builds with Xi and Aerial being the lone HGs iirc.
Bandai's actually shipments had RGs and HGs at the top in per unit sales, but not revenue.
Yeah it was pretty bizarre when they kept bringing up that one tweet as THE BEST GUNPLA SOLD EVER. Saw that moronation posted in multiple occasions.
this isn't true, I've been hitting up the Cinemaphile threads. They don't really talk about the kits much anyway but I've had a couple posts back and forth with anons and no one had an issue with it
>Xi's HGUC kit outsold Aerial's HG kit in 2022.
so confident? post proof
the only kits i see consistently shelf warm is Narrative A. other NT kits, even the Silver Bullet disappears after a few weeks.
Narrative C-Packs are great sellers, though we dont know if because people mistake it for Unicorn and buyiing it.
A-Packs definitely shelf warm because of the money and size
Xi and Penelope have the money and size yet they sell and get restocked frequently. Messer too.
The Messser is fricking great, best revised design for the anime.
Helps that it also got some of the best scenes in the movie, if not all of them.
I wonder if we will get other variants like a sniper or long range cannon ones.
I still can't believe they made version with the leg shroud a p-bandai until movie 2
>mfw immediately bought Narrative C-packs for no reason at all due to this post, haven't even watched the movie either
The Xi Gundam was one of the best selling kits of last year. It actually outsold Aerial which is funny considering it was far more expensive, far more complicated and the design is far less appealing to a lot of people
Xi sold pretty well, not sure about the Penelope but I see it being restocked fairly often so I imagine it's doing well too.
let them cook
Huh, what an old logo of the Bandai Namco Filmworks.
Gundam threads get the moronation they deserve.
The second coming of our lord and savior takes precedence.
I hope the remaining SEEDgays will get disappointed by the resuscitation of that dead and smelly horse.
>G-Witch's mess of a second season and especially ending
You can blame the writer and the director for that, not the entire studio. No matter the timeframe, they would have still fricked up, because that's the sort of creators they are. The project needed a heavy-handed tard-wrangler, not extra time or money.
They need five years to animate Gigi's hair.
Don't worry, at best we only have 5 years to wait
>Naohiro Ogata has given the clearest idea of when the sequel will happen and even then, it's a fairly broad timeframe. He said it will be completed "before the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. That's for sure." The first film was already delayed numerous times on account of the pandemic, something which is similarly impacting the development of the sequel now
>Gamerant
What a credible website. Frick off.
The quote is used by multiple sites since it is in fact a real quote my dude
https://www.cbr.com/gundam-hathaway-sequel-delay/
Even worse website.
Ogata said 2024. The 2028 was a fricking joke that neither of those sites got.
You burn that candle of hope, keep it up
Considering the script and storyboard is done, I think we're well on our way for a 2024 release. Learn to cope
Crossbone anime doko?
they're taking their sweet, sweet time animating the full nude scene they promised.
Gigi's breasts are worth the wait.
Unicorn OVAs aren't movie length until the last two episodes,
Probably Sunrise's fricked priorities.
Even outside of coof messing with schedules, they've got/had G-Witch, SEED Freedom, Doan's Island, that new CG Gundam thing, the games, G-Reco I-V, etc. for Gundam alone.
I feel like they're more intent on announcing these big massive productions, which is how you get stuff like the SEED Destiny movie spending 15 years in production limbo. Hopefully Hathaway doesn't go down the same path.
Also forgot to add, there's also the live-action movie they're co-producing with Legendary or whoever that's NEVER gonna happen.
Even with Sunrise's resources, I think they have too much on their plate which just ends up jeopardizing their productions (See: G-Witch's mess of a second season and especially ending).
The SEED movie was 100% Fukuda and his wife. He admitted to that. sunrise was the one who forced his hand to get shit rolling. As for the live action, there's not much they're doing with it tbh. I've read that Ogata said they were somewhat hands off. Only a loose guide.
Interbrand competition is bad for business. Witch is currently what they want people to focus on atm
They released Unicorn while AGE, Build Fighters. Build Fighters Try and G-Reco was happening and it didn't seem to be a problem.
>girlfriend dies
>??????
>become a terrorist
what am I missing that made him make that leap?
basically. even if you want to call quess his girlfriend, as he was cucked throughout all of CCA
>kill someone out of moronation
>guilt eats you from the inside out as the federation spins the story as you being the next Amuro
>witness what would normally be a century defining event, a literal miracle on par with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, only for it to be brushed aside and the world keeps going down the shitter
>decide to get off your ass and do shit
Who did movie Hathaway kill anyway? Quess or Chan?
Chan and the random Geara Doga grunt when he launched with the Jegan.
same honestly frick these little guys
I've been thinking to myself in the past 15 minutes, what level of newtype bullshit are we okay with before we start seething?
Mostly just the stuff in the OG series by the looks of it.
Hathaway has higher quality, so it takes more time.
that's a fat fricking lie holy shit
Compare the action/fight direction in Unicorn and Hathaway.
yeah every single fight in Hathaway is in CGI
And it's still more enjoyable than Unicorn's in spite of that.
I can't compare their fight direction because I can't see a goddamn thing in Hathaway. All the MS fights take place in the middle of the night between suits that are so weirdly shaped that I can't tell what direction they're even facing.
Just max out the brightness, bro.
Right, because a single 5-sec clip would have 237 layers applied to it and a standard animated show like unicorn. Cope more
Not an argument.
the argument is done, moron
full CG vs mostly 2D
get your eyes fixed
You're autistic if your only criterion of 'good' is whether something is 2D or not.
If it's money troubles just sell more model kits to Phillipinos
How big is the Pinoy market?
They're willing to eat pagpag (garbage) to get their plastic crack if that's any indication.
kinda crazy since they get floods like once or twice every year.
don't they fear they will eventually lose their collections?
Let's just say that the whole place is one big Darwin Award ceremony.
People who can afford plastic toys, can afford protection for their wealth in case of flood. It's not like the entire country gets flooded all year long anyway. Some people live on higher ground too.
screw the kids , save the master grades
>00 every time
their obsession with 00 is incredible
so Phillipines-00, China-Sneed, US-Wing, Japan-UC(and GWitch), what about europe?
You forgot Latin America - G Gundam. Europe is pretty much Wing territory since they followed what America liked back then.
Isn't SEED extremely popular in Japan as well?
It's been waning in favor of 00. Z gen kiddies generally prefer 00 and have a boner for Exia.
Cope all around.
Been to Japan? Didn't think so.
Sorry anon
Master grade is dead
It was fricking boring and uneventful. Make another Thunderbolt.
Too much effort, easier to market gundam to dykes and homosexuals
Frick you for bumping this shit thread.
the final battle looked so shitty why is it taking so long when your average TV show has the same CGI quality
Just watched this for the first time - soundtrack is fricking beautiful.
