Chapter 92: Page 22
FOMO
----------------------
I posted another look at some of the changes I'm making in the early chapters for the Dark Horse collection over on my Patreon! Supporting the comic over there really helps us out!

now it's a proper death-cult
I recognize that puffy-faced frustration.
>that last panel
Cute.
Did Zimmy just kill someone on purpose? Is that what's implied here?
No, nevermind, this is in line with her previous reaction.
Still, pretty messed up that she got someone killed (albeit apparently on accident) and her first reaction is that she's upset that she didn't see what Annie saw.
That is, if this bot even really shares part of Zimmy's consciousness/personality.
We weren't really privy to how the Zimmy-person acted last time she was seen as someone else, right? Let me go back and check...
I guess it's dependent on whether Zimmy is triggered to come out in some way in the moment. Sometimes, Zimmy comes out. You'd think that getting someone innocent killed would do it, but Zimmy is a monster,so she doesn't care.
Then again, this page makes it look like Zimmy can choose when to appear.
In any case, Zimmy sucks and this is her second kill of an innocent in the comic, the responsibility of which - in both cases - she shares with Annie to an extent.
How is this death on Zimmy? It's true they're kind of in Zimmyland, but Zimmy didn't choose to have Coyote vore her. We can't really say if she had any say in creating this space
It's possible she could come out at any point and help Annie navigate it.
And yes, she did have a say, she created all of this, she started the whole thing before anything happened to her. In fact, she'd planned this for a longer time.
Source?
It's hard to find, I thought it was the last page of a chapter but maybe not, but Zimmy talks about the court preparing to leave and she says to gamma that she is gonna do something that the court won't like. I feel like it's implied this is what she was talking aboutback then .
Can't say if it's what we're seeing here though, especially since Annie says it's not exactly Zimmy's town. Whatever seems to be a result of both Coyote and Zimmy to me. Zimmy wasn't expecting the Coyote attack at all. It could be she tried to deploy her plan imperfectly as a last ditch self defense, or could be something else entirely.
Sure! It's just an assumption.
>and this is her second kill of an innocent in the comic
Wait, who is the first one? I don't remember.
The two Annies, I counted them as one.
I miss Annies.
I miss them so much, bro!
>black haired bot kills herself to meet Kat
>but she was actually Zimmy in a dissociative schizo episode all along
>zimmy is dead for real and Kat has to take her to the afterlife
The prophecy is fulfilled
*cue mass suicide
Tom doesn't have the balls
Well, they are all wearing track suits and sneakers
>"Aww man, I want to see the Angel too! Quick, miss Annie kill me like you did with Jeff Bezos here!"
She's totally going to kill herself, isn't she?
What a stupid fricking chapter.
Yes, I agree. The way I see it I can't think of any good reason why Annie was able to get Kat to shed her robot angel form. To me there are two options here:
A: Kat's angel form IS the real deal. Kat will turn into a god and The Angel is her real form. This would thematically contradict how Annie was able to free her from that form to get her to do her job as a god, however. This means it's just simply a faux pas of Tom's, he just didn't wanna draw the angel for a whole chapter and that's all there is to it. (The less bad option)
B: Kat's angel form ISN'T the real deal. The Angel was a red herring all along and Kat just made a stupid contract that has the stupid consequence of being a minor inconvenience. The Angel represents something else entirely, something much more mundane, perhaps some sort of Court technology yet to be revealed and Kat will never turn into a god or anything of the like, it's all just a big subversion of expectations, because Tom gets off on that stuff for some reason. (The nuclear option)
So, in either case, it's a pretty bad chapter and I don't really see a way that it might be good.
The only reason this whole sub-chapter existed was because Tom suddenly realized "oh shit I better address the robot ghost question so he did a flat dry tongue-in-cheek bit with the arbiter guys again in the middle of what should be a dramatic and hyper-tense chapter. I'm not exaggerating when I say George Lucas would be rubbing his neck over this tonal whiplash.
Kat always looks like the angel with ethervision, it doesn't mean she physically is the angel (in the present moment). The rules about the ether don't seem hard enough for there to even be a contradiction there
I feel like you don't really get what I'm saying. The contradiction I was talking about was one of theme, not necessarily in-universe. The plot could be completely free of holes, it would just mean it's simply not good writing.
Not having plot holes is the bare minimum. Just because there's been an increasing amount of fiction in recent years that has an embarrassingly huge amount of in-universe contradictions doesn't mean that that should be the standard for writing. Not having plot holes is not good writing.
Nta, but I get you. I also hope Kat's mecha angel form is the real deal and we get a dramatic confrontation between Annie and Kat at the very endgame of the story, which has strong themes and a satisfying resolution and payoff.
Hahaha...
I'd be happy if black-haired girl actually ISN'T Zimmy and is a new character with her own thoughts and opinions that isn't on board with the robogay consensus bubble. But no it's just going to be Zimmy again and this boring asinine chapter will continue to accomplish nothing
Actually she's Lana.
Actually she's Coyote.
and the sheriff
Actually she's boxbot.
>Boxbot is secretly the key to everything
>the entire comic gains a reputation for being terrible
Kino
I wish this comic had stayed spooky but artistic and fun, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, instead of turning serious and dark but also boring, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
does anyone have access to the fixed early pages tom has been posting on his patreon where annie doesnt have a football head anymore
Wait, so do you want the comic to be like Buffy or not.
How nice of Annie to not talk with Rey in her head about this thing Kat probably wouldn't want the new people to know about, knowing that their cultish behavior annoys Kat. It's good she said this out loud, too, since this is conveniently a very crucial plot point that the new people wouldn't have been able to know about any other way!
Just another one of Annie's little oopsie whoopsies!
You buttholes need to stop being moronic and rude to Annie. You know perfectly she didn't do anything wrong, you stupid, moronic hateful trannies.
Anon, you can't spell trannie without annie. Think about what the implications are.
>Let's all kill ourself to see that girl that we see every day at the workshop anyway
at least those guys aren't bald.
True but they are rather pig-like
>the actual page is called FOMO implying that all these newkin haven't met Kat even as she transferred them into flesh prisons.
I get what the author was aiming for here but it comes off completely wrong, Kat would happily meet and greet with them (within reason) if they actually tried instead of treating her as some uncontactable god.
Wat?
No. You got it wrong.
Had a spontaneous need to draw Kat and her flat chest, imagining her eventual growth spurt It will never happen Literally gushing with excitement.

Kat loves big boobs!
What a cow!
WOW!
This is really cute! And hot! I love it Annie's boobs anon.
Her face came out very cute, and or course, her delicious flat chest is delicious!
Your stuff is very promising.
Zimmy being fused with Lana would be an adequate punishment for her fusing the Annies.
Wait a minute, even their hair styles are quite similar.....
Oh god...
Weird pacing on this arc. Everything was moving steadily until that little contract interlude slowed it all to a halt.
Pout! Pouting everywhere!
OH GOD WHAT THE FRICK IS GOING ON
Tom reads these threads! We've been posting Annie's boobs and he gave us Annie's boobs. Keep posting!
I was mostly talking about how badly drawn annie is here. Like look at her head! Huge head and tiny face!
If anything, this panels gives Annie a huge ass, that is also out of proportion.
Surprised nobody's talking about the Dark Horse stuff. We're facing full on Football Annie erasure!
Yeah, I was gonna say. First Tom killed the two Annies, and now he's gonna kill football head Annie!
All the while starting to kill the once inmortal robot race, one by one!
Someone has to stop him!
See? Annie doesn't have a big butt! This is outrageous!
gunnershit fail sucks
o shid
Lana = Lambda
>Lambda
>Zimmy (??)
>Gamma
>Omega
What does it mean?
Zimmy is zeta.
Zimmy is Zeta
Annie is Alpha
Kat is speculated to be Kappa
>Annie is Alpha
>Kat is speculated to be Kappa
Wat, I didn't know this!
That's because he just made that up entirely. It's total nonsense.
I wouldn't say he made it up entirely, but Annie's never been confirmed to be "Alpha". Just very, very, very heavily believed to be so ever since her parallels with Zimmy and that Zeta thing got revealed. Fanwank but compelling fanwank more or less that he probably conflated with canon since it's been floated around for over a decade now.
I'm pretty sure Kat's mother Anja is Alpha. We still don't know why she was placed in the house with supernatural beings.
... Because she is a witch?
WHO believes this??? This has never even been floated as a vague guess. The closest thing I can think of was that ppl came to the conclusion that Zimmy and Annie are opposites in some ways. Even if this was intended, the opposite of alpha is omega, not zeta.
Anon shhh, I want to see those schizos continue to build on top of their theory
Annie and Zimmy being opposites doesn't even make sense, because Kat is Zimmy's opposite in pretty much every way.
Isn't Kat's opposite, you know, Annie?
Zimmy's a lot more etheric than Annie is, and she's a lot less of a nice person than either Annie or Kat.
How do you explain every single teatrise, then?
Misdirection
>This has never even been floated as a vague guess.
It was floated a lot back during the Zeta thing, but yeah I never really got it either. Like you said, the opposite of Alpha is Omega, and just assuming Annie must be Alpha because her name starts with an A is dumb. Gamma's name is LITERALLY Gamma and Zimmy is a nickname for Zeta.
Looking very anime there, Tom.
Isn't that kind of drawing a long time staple of western comics?
I'm more talking about the way the profile faces are drawn. Like the eyes and mouth.
Not-zimmy's boobs!
Zimmy/Lana hybrid has big ears!
Kat is a Kappa you say?
Annie's swollen boobs!
Imagine drinking Kat's milk. Her nose milk.
