Happened about 20 years ago.
This feels like it's supposed to be a big reveal but it's really not impacting. If this is about the ship AI arc then the amount of time that's passed since then is simply too vast to give a frick about robot's actions at that point in time. Maybe it's gonna go deeper which might make it hit harder but right now, eh.
I guess the big GASP-er is supposed to be robot manipulated Kat into doing robit body stuff. Like, wowee wowerson. Ok. Doesn't look like anything's really gonna come home to roost though. No serious existential consequences from all this creating-new-form-of-life thing (oh wait we already had existential consequences at home last chapter lol). It's all just a big magic-science-fiction-draped version of SoL webcomic "I did a bad to my school chum and now I need to apologize ;_;"
I guess the joke's on any of us who thought this series was going to end up as anything more than Questionable Content with (more) robots and ghosts.
Ok, so this chapter is... a play-by-play of all the stuff we already saw happen. So what is the point then? Looks like there's not going to be any actual action or consequence of all this. It's just "stuff that happened" and now Annie sees it and gets to give the dumb femteen version of a Picard lecture or something? So basically the big result that all this led up to is "robot is a pile of barnacles and sad now".
