social media and hoeflation didn’t exist

this, she didn't have 100 Chads on speed dial. She had like 4 or 5 possible guys to date at most so it wasn't like he had much competition

This is the dude that crawled unarmed towards machine guns repeatedly. Then did it again the next day. Don't think talking to a girl would have scared him.

bear in mind that most guys were off fighting in the war so not like she had a lot of options

Woman generally had far less suitable male options before social media and the lack of third wave feminism meant they weren't gaslighted to believe only Chad McThunderwiener is viable partner. The only real competition a man had back then was maybe like the 5 other average guys in her church group instead of the hundreds of 6'2, massive dick, collegiate athletes on tinder matching with her daily. Forced monogamy also meant that the Chads of the pre-social media era were removed from the market very quickly so even if one was around he wouldn't be a problem for long.

tl;dr yes it was a way better time to find a wife and it only took the average man a few years of looking in his early 20s.

so that basically means that there are more lesbian than gay couples, doesn't it?

Yes, but also more lesbian domestic violence tham gay domestic violence

No, it means woman would rather share a top percentage male rather than resort to monogamy with an average one. Chad is fricking 2-3 woman who all believe themselves to be in a relationship with him.

I’m a 6’2 guy with a big dick, own a home, make good money and I’m charming. Even I struggle on tinder. There’s 5 men for every woman on that app. Any decent looking chick is flooded with men

The average moronic really believes this how the vaccine works. It only protects against a few of the most common strains. You can and will still get HPV even with the vaccine.

most people do want to settle down, too many options and fomo just make them incapable of doing so

Did the real life guy really walk in the middle of gunfire to save his barely-alive comrades?

What the frick was up with that guy?

This was one of the movies where they had to tone down the persons actual actions. Here is PART of his MoH citation:
      >On 2 May, he exposed himself to heavy rifle and mortar fire in rescuing a wounded man 200 yards forward of the lines on the same escarpment; and two days later he treated four men who had been cut down while assaulting a strongly defended cave, advancing through a shower of grenades to within eight yards of enemy forces in a cave's mouth, where he dressed his comrades' wounds before making four separate trips under fire to evacuate them to safety. On 5 May, he unhesitatingly braved enemy shelling and small-arms fire to assist an artillery officer. He applied bandages, moved his patient to a spot that offered protection from small-arms fire and, while artillery and mortar shells fell close by, painstakingly administered plasma. Later that day, when an American was severely wounded by fire from a cave, Private First Class Doss crawled to him where he had fallen 25 feet from the enemy position, rendered aid, and carried him 100 yards to safety while continually exposed to enemy fire.

And that bit of the citation is what happened after the climax of the movie. Then it goes on; my favorite bit:
          >[...] until he was himself seriously wounded in the legs by the explosion of a grenade. Rather than call another aid man from cover, he cared for his own injuries and waited five hours before litter bearers reached him and started carrying him to cover. The trio was caught in an enemy tank attack and Private First Class Doss, seeing a more critically wounded man nearby, crawled off the litter and directed the bearers to give their first attention to the other man.

I was surprised by how dumb the combat scenes in this were. When it came out they were talking about how it was one of the most gruesome realistic war movies ever but when I finally saw it there were parts that belonged in Looney Tunes.

Because of the war everyone was super horny and being a solider turned you into a gigachad. The baby boom happened because those feelings were still strong but the fighting had stopped.

      >and being a solider turned you into a gigachad.

Private First Class Doss, seeing a more critically wounded man nearby, crawled off the litter and directed the bearers to give their first attention to the other man. Awaiting the litter bearers' return, he was again struck, this time suffering a compound fracture of one arm. With magnificent fortitude he bound a rifle stock to his shattered arm as a splint and then crawled 300 yards over rough terrain to the aid station.
What does a dude have to do to be a badass in your book?

  13. 4 months ago

Enforced monogamy combined with the lack of internet mean women had a very narrow set of options no matter how attractive she objectively was.

It was basically coworker, classmates or neighbors and they had to be single.

Add on top of that military men were fit and well respected in society and what you get is a free wife.

Women wanted to get married and have babies back then. Women now are all fricked up on birth control pills and feminism, which has destroyed their mothering instinct.

  17. 4 months ago

Yes. It was socially unacceptable for women to remain single. They couldn’t get good paying jobs and relied on a man. Plus there were hardly any abortions and 95% of women wanted to be wives and mothers

all the posts here saying she didn't have alot of options is true
I don't want to sounds like a gay, but I'm not ugly, girls flirt with me a ton. I met a girl at work who is like a 6/10. She had a big jaw/chin but was still cute. Had acne too but never cared to cover it up. I flirted back and we talked for like a month, then I asked for her number thinking I could set something up to hang out sometime. She fricking left me on read twice and I can say confidently I was "out of her league" type thing but she still fricking threw me aside like nothing. It's insane even ugly girls are waiting for "chad"
