Killed them on secretly to avoid Ripley's bonus (+ a couple centuries of interest).

Ripley would have anticipated this. Her and Hicks would have steered clear of the company and lived a low key mercenary life. They would have gotten newt a new identity and dropped her off at a space orphanage. 15 years later, Newt is now a xenobiologist studying the aliens at a Weyland-Yutani blacksite but one day one of them gets out of containment. The company sends warships to obliterate the facility to cover-up their involvement. Newt reaches out to Ripley and Hicks who now have their own well-renowned mercenary team, to rescue her. Sent them on a mission to the xenomorph homeworld because Weyland Yutani is moronic.

Given them a huge settlement. Remember, Weyland-Yutani was not a mustache twirling supervillain yet in Aliens, it was only Burke who wanted to get a huge payday and promotion that caused all the problems. So there's no reason to think that they'd be scheming to kill them off. The executives at We-Yu would already be facing huge legal problems with the fallout from losing their colony with all lives, the easiest route would be to pay off Ripley for her service and as an apology for doubting her. Then Hicks probably get medically discharged and Ripley could potentially adopt Rebecca.

I think that would have been the best route for a third movie anyhow, combined with a time skip to a decade+ in the future where they have moved on with their lives and Rebecca is an adult.

The people were there for twenty years. They had no idea about the aliens, and the planet seemed just like any other. Their whole gig is making planets into habitable worlds, and they do it all the time.

the marines probably killed 70% of them between both battles and the turrets, with some extra ammo, they would have cleaned the whole facility, I always thought there were like 2000 of them

Wonder if you could put more than one chest burster in a host at a time, like swapping fachuggers after the first one falls off.

In the William Gibson draft of Alien 3 they don't even debrief Hicks, they get immediate access to the Alien so they just keep him in the dark about what's happening and let him hang around a colony ship waiting for orders.

The WY honchos behind Special Order 937 probably died in the 57-year gap between Alien and Aliens. Since WY made no attempt to get the Aliens in that period, and since the Derelict wasn't re-discovered until Burke sent them there, it seems that they gave up on the Alien. Burke was acting on his own in Aliens, so when Ripley and Newt would return to Earth, the new WY leadership would probably be just as shocked at him as they were.

        >Do people not like 3?
Where have you been for the past 25+ years? People (rightfully) hated it at the very start when they kill 3 characters from Aliens for no reason after they all went through meaningful arcs. Then Ripley was just fricking boring in Alien 3. The horrible CGI, the planet of dangerous criminals who are all just fodder for the Alien, the rape, the ugly ass colors, shit man the only thing that was good is the acting talent in the movie.

I watched it like a decade ago and liked it on its own, very depressing and hopeless atmosphere that fits the plot and Ripley's backstory
the alien effects look bad though

I do not care for contrarianism.

We're never going to get alternative sequel to Aliens so I'm jusy happy to consider Aliens as the final chapter just like T2. There's nothing else to tell in both movies the ending was as conclusive as it can get.

Burke's actions were his own. None of the other members of the company knew about aliens.Burke was the only one who believed her. With him and destroyed derelict the story is effectively over.
