An even better question is how did Disney approve of producing an anti-consumer film?

What's scary is that Disney's not even the biggest or most powerful conglomerate.

well... there is some anti-consumerism in the movie (look at the fat people!)

That has nothing to with environmentalism per se.

I heard he wasn't actually that religious would have been more insulting to Osama Bin Laden making him gay with Satan ?

well yeah but the South Park movie was made before 9/11 so I guess the last big bad for America was Saddam Hussein at that point.

Osama couldn't have been that religious as well if he played vidya, isn't that haram?

No shit Saddam was actually the only thing who was standing against the wahhabi extremism you see there today.

      >Had an anti-consumerist message
It didn't, it said "Bad person in charge is bad, put good person in charge"

Fiction can be hypocritical because it's fiction, the only thing Disney will not allow is anything telling you Disney is bad, in the wrong or even nothing less than god's gift to the unwashed masses

      You're calling environmentalism anti-consumerism?

      >Had an environmentalist message
It didn't, it said "We'll just frick off to space, be happy and the planet will fix itself, lol, we're gonna grow pizza plants"

Everything before they go to space is excellent. But once the movie is on the space ship it loses some it's luster.

the anti-consumerism part is really secondary to the story

I disagree, Moe had some of the best gags and Wall-E accidentally causing a friendship based robot uprising has got to be one of the funniest side gags in any disney film. Little homie didn't even do anything but be nice to them for one second and they were ready to kill for him like he was a harem protagonist and best girl actually won for once.

Core story about a cute ass little robot who falls in love and humanity overcoming laziness to stop being fat fricks and actually fight for their future was strong enough to overcome any attempt at preaching.

Nobody walked out of the theater going "Wow this children's film said stuff and now I'm going to change my life", just like nobody ever changes their life because of pretend people playing pretend, but they did walk out talking about how fun Wall-E the character is and how cute the romance was and how nice the ending was.

Nobody at present disney has the talent to pull that off.

it's mainly a love story. Wall-E is ignorant to the bigger picture. He only helps EVE in the space half because he loves her and wants her to fulfill her directive, not because mankind and earth's future is at stake
