That would be more harder than you think. No one would take him seriously and most would forget about his ramblings the second they see another rambling patient. Most people aren't as perceptive nor do they have as good of a memory as you think.

And even if someone did listen to him, they'd most likely back off after a while because they'd be concerned about their job and status. Then there's policies because it's a mental hospital. The only chance Ulrich has is writing several notes and even then they'd take that away from him because "it feeds his psychosis" or some shit.

Anon, tomorrow you wake up locked up in a mental institute. It's December 1984. Without the benefit of being able to Google things beforehand to prepare, what things are you going to tell them to convince these people that unlike every other mentalist in the place you really are a time traveller. Remember, these must be things that will happen relatively soon, because you're going to be drugged and electroshocked until you stop ranting about your time traveller delusion and after a while that sort of stuff really impacts your ability to think coherently

Maybe. The easiest way to understand Ulrich's situation is to imagine yourself in an old mental hospital as an employee, doesn't matter what your occupation is. Would you really be interested in digging deeper into a supposed murderers ramblings if he started talking to you?

Even in therapy sessions it would be madness for a doctor to start listening to him because it would go against everything the doctor's there for. He's supposed to calm a patient down, not engage in his delusions. Think One flew over the cuckoo's nest. Ulrich is just another patient to them and it was not a good time to be in a mental hospital for anyone, let alone a convicted murderer.

After Egon tells Ulrich about Mikkel, Ulrich has to escape the asylum but cutting the fence or something, which immediately triggers a police manhunt.

I like this time travel book Anubis Gates, where a guy gets transported to the early 1800s London and immediately assumed he can use his future powers to make himself rich. Then he realizes he doesn’t know how to build a computer or a radio, and all he remembers about history is that Napoleon eventually loses the war, but he can’t find anyone that wants to place a million pound bet on it.

Despite being accurate people would still pin it on a lucky guess that would be discussed later on in places like Cinemaphile. Was he really a time traveler, alien, a ghost? Just lucky? We and especially psychiatrists just don't believe in magic or time travel by default, it's not reliable and as I said, siding with a mentally ill patient is a career suicide for someone in psychology.

If only he wasn't dead by then. He was locked away in the 50s (when in his 40s) and was already a very old man in the 80s when he tried to abduct young Mikkel. Pretty sure he was dead by 2001.

I was actually surprised that he was still alive in the 80's. He was deemed as a child murderer and he probably got beaten down numerous times by the staff when "no one wasn't looking". Child killer is probably one of the worst titles you can get in a place like that.

The old/young casting in this show was so fricking good. There were only a couple instances where the actors didn't believably represent their older/younger selves.

Overall, this was very kino. The last season was getting carried away with sci-fi but still tried to keep track of its loose ends so its ending wasn't as egregious as Lost.

dark and stalker derive inspiration from the same source, chernobyl. the game is more a direct copy of the movie.

lol at stalker being influenced by Chernobyl. The movie was shot 7 years before Chernobyl happened. Also it’s a book adaptation and the book was published in 1972 you moron

I thought the show was great, but I got kinda bored with Jonas and Martha by the end. Noah and Elisabeth were my favs, but Ulrich's tragic life was well done too.

Should have ended with Adam and the chick causing the car crash and repeating everything.

Everything does repeat, anon. As Claudia says, she tried to alter things, but everything still happened. In different times or in different ways, but it all still happened.

The show ends telling us that's all happening, just in different times and in different ways. The yellow raincoat, the storm, the power drop, Torben's eye and Hannah saying she's going to name the kid Jonas.Different times and in different ways.

It has to happen because of the grandfather paradox. The clockmaker making the time machine is the *real* timeline. Jonas and Martha alter it. But they have to exist for that to happen. In other words, all Claudia did was create another loop, different than before, but a loop nonetheless.

claudia couldn't change anything because she was trying to change shit from within their timelines, which just caused more timelines to form, where both the original and altered both existed simultaneously. preventing the car crash prevented the creation of those timelines, which only existed in the first place because tanhaus destroyed his own universe trying to make time travel possible.

He didn't destroy his own universe, anon. It was still there, which is how she was able to see him to begin with. It is all one timeline, branched off from from that specific point.

The show goes out of it's way to eliminate causal loops. Jonas and Martha stopping the car crash itself initiates a causal loop, hence, the ending. Hannah has the same visions and deja vu/glitch in the matrix that Jonas and Martha had.

nah, it was one timeline that was paused split and then it goes on.
