Ezra isn’t actually gay/trans or anything he just says that so he doesn’t have to face the consequences of his actions, he actually has harems of cult follower women and a gf he was fricking since she was 12 and he was like 20.
He didn't work for me in that movie either, but at least he was balanced out by some other actors and wasn't expected to carry the whole film himself. He just doesn't have leading man charisma.
