I tried to watch Chronicle with my friend and he talked all the way through, ended up stopping half way through the movie. We talked about it later and his reasoning was that he didn't like superhero movies.

It's more of a school shooter movie.

Or when you recommend a movie/show, they watch it on their own, and come back to report they didn't like it.

Or when you recommend a movie/show, they don't listen to your recommendation, watch it on their own by coincidence, and tell you that it's a great movie that you need to watch.

Getting drunk alone on the couch is much much better than trying to watch kino with some casual flick-catcher. I actively avoid watching anything very good with company.

Yes, which is why your taste in movies shouldn't be a defining aspect of your relationship with people. You need to share movies with people when you know that they will enjoy it. It's needy and impolite to foist some dense slow paced movie on friends or family who don't enjoy that kind of thing. Show them the Lego Movie or Antichrist. Save the good stuff like Critters 2 for your film club buddies

Don't let consumerism defined you, it does not. It's all of our parents fault, generation after generation of unwanted and unwilling, but there's something you good at, something to be proud of.

A friend made us watch Bezerker or whatever. He wanted us to love it. It was good but there were a million extremely gay or cringey things about the saga and we were having a good time goofing on it. He was really offended but i refused to apologize because we all got together every evening for a week to watch it. We were enjoying it a lot and having fun. This was a guy who asked girls for back massages who would never date him and guilt them into it because they had been giving other guys who they liked back massages. Very odd

yea; all of my friends are vacuous normalgays. i tried a few times and gave up. it's like trying to foster comradery with AIs. i've long since resigned myself to just keeping them around for scratching socialization itches to keep me from going completely crazy in isolation. it's like being in the friendship equivalent of a loveless marriage/dead bedroom.

Recent years have showed me that it is not worth it anymore, I just enjoy what I enjoy, know what I know and realized they never really cared about or had any interest in anything.
I've accepted aswell that I never actually really knew anything about them either as they never seem to open up either.
They never seem to have the time to see anyone despite having no interests/opinions on/in most things.
You get sick of walking on eggshells around people like this and how limiting trying to do anything with them is.

I remember asking a normie I knew how she got on on a Holiday, they flew all the way to America solely to get drunk and had nothing to actually say about their trip.

      >vacuous in casual shitpost conversation
Dude I just met you and I don’t even like you already.

No because it’s pointless to show what you like to normies. Just pretend you’ve watched the newest slop and enjoyed it and they will leave you alone.
Normies talking about how much they enjoyed ahsoka and rings of power makes me want to go ballistic.

This. Most of them have the depth of a mud puddle and it’s just infuriating to try to have deep conversations with them.

I went through a cringe as frick nihilist phase in my early 20s and was into music. One day at my McJob I played a burnt CD (long ago lel) of the Fight Club soundtrack by the Dust Brothers. I played the cd for background noise and thought people would enjoy it.
They laughed and started making fun of the Tyler monologue song. The laughing at me is understandable, it just hurt to be that guy.
I quietly removed my cd and pretended like I found it in the closet or something.

      Thanks for reading my blog

Your only mistake was that you tried to share this with other people. Once you realise that it’s utterly pointless to keep normies in your life you will be free

I don't think I've ever actually met someone besides me who actually enjoys film scores. Feels like if it's not licensed music, they straight up don't notice it at all. I'm sure there must be other people out there who are into film scores, but I have yet to encounter them.

I’m listening to the tron legacy soundtrack on vinyl right now

This never happened to me because when i make people watch movies they're movies I'm certain will catch that person's attention. I'm not a selfish, self absorbed subhuman like you. I hate you. I HATE YOU AAAAAAGHHHHHHH. I'LL KILL YOUUUU

      >puts on googoo gaga movies for the normies to laugh at

I’m 40, I don’t give a shit now what some stoners at a pizza place think about me lmao
I went to do great things, but I will always remember that small moment. You are correct, just spare me the Sam Hyde dad wisdom. Everyone over 30 should know all of that by then.

I'm wondering what I was even doing hanging out with certain people in my teens and twenties, hip hop and emo music enthusiasts when I was into Jpop/Jrock they didn't give a shit about.
The more interested I got in cinema the less I had in common aswell because they just watch whatever generic mainstream release.
They wouldn't watch anything old either.
