He is another court jester like abel ferrara, he had a small comeback after pandering to frat boys with spring breakers, but now that we are exiting woke hell world he is cinematically homeless with his 'subversive grift'

What did you like about this film? I loved the flying nuns, ending and the ‘you can live forever. with the old folks. Not baiting , genuinely curious as it’s one of his most over looked films.
Yeah such a miss hit, he said it was just a stoner comedy but I thought it wasn’t very funny and cringe. The whole showing how we glamorise talentless ‘artists’ theme (i.e him being a shitty writer) didn’t land with me either.
The Beach Bum seemed like such a miss, dunno what happened there

Beach Bum worked for me, it reminds me of an optimistic Pynchon novel or a tall tale from a hundred years ago, he elevates the stoner comedy by making the protagonist a mythological poet. I think of that one and Spring Breakers as explorations of the Florida of the soul
