JK Rowling was very shrewd with rights negotiations, it’s actually impressive for someone with so little industry experience when she started. Basically she made sure the books got adapted right into movies, and she won’t just sign off on any old thing

but there are games of it, including one that is being made by people who are apparently antagonizing her

I've heard she thinks very little of the comic medium, but that could very well be just a rumor.

Makes sense. She did plaigerize a comic for her series

Ironic, considering there are comics/manga better than Harry Potter. Like Witch Hat Atelier, for example.

If true, that's very close-minded. Maybe she's jealous she can't draw?

She probably sees videogames as just merch rather than a storytelling medium, while she specifically didn't want a cartoon/comic Harry Porter.

      >Harry Potter has a gajillion video games, but not a single comic book
      Why?

Rowling is picky and a lot of writers 20some+ years ago saw comic books as crude and lacking the "integrity" of non-picture books.
Same reason why we never got a Harry Potter cartoon back in the day. Some forms of art are see as lesser than others.
Surprised Rowling was even okay with video games, maybe the "games cause violence" meme wasn't too big in the UK

Rowling has nothing to do with the story as well

Notice all her attempts at continuing HP have failed primarily because she has alienated her millennial audience with her politics

This isnt true? Harry Potter continues to dominate book and merchandise sales. Even the movies are still doing ok. Most people think the movies are bad because of the content not Rowling. And im pretty sure the Play made millions of dollars. The Harry Potter franchise will likely never die just like Star Wars or LOTR.

Harry Potter is literally worth more than the entirety of DC im pretty sure.

nobody was shit talking for being woke, they were shit talking her for being fake woke
she didn't give a shit about any of the stuff that woke people care about and only used "Hermione could be black, there's nothing that says she wasn't" and "Dumbledore is le heckin gay" for free brownie points in the media

              they're literally the same thing.

we call them "woke" as a sarcastic insult, because they're so misguided yet self-righteous--they think they're "enlightened ones." woke has always been a mockery of people trying to appeal to progressive ideals without putting any sort of rational logic into it.

JK Rowling's control of the series has long prevented original stories from being made outside her supervision. Hogwarts Legacy is the first time she's loosened her grip to let WB make original content in the Wizarding World.

Surface level Kimba thing. The only thing they have in common is they’re both about english boys with glasses learning magic and they have pet owls. The actual plot and characters are radically different, with the rest of the similarities more likely being stolen from T.H. White’s Sword in the Stone, which both Gaiman and Rowling cited as inspiration
