I saw Star Wars as a kid and decided I want to become an astronaut when I grow up. I'm a programmer now.

Over the years I have seen many kinos that have inspired me to greatness. Fortunately it always wears off and I soon go back to being a lazy fat bastard.

You don't have to be a hero all of the time, like Deadpool said, you just have to do some really uncomfortable shit for a few minutes to be heroic

        Anonymous

I do really uncomfortable shits all the time. I'm talking serious ass-blown-out gargantuan logs that require several flushes to finally defeat. But do they make me a hero?

Yeah. Yeah I'm thinking they do. I guess we're all heroes in our own ways. Thanks anon.

In some ways, not as drastic as you'd be thinking. But drastic nonetheless if you were to look at the accumulated effect of smaller changes I made to myself that probably resulted in bigger changes in my life at a macro level that might be hard to concretely identify. But as for changes within my own self as opposed to my actual life? Quite significant. One such significant change watching kinos brought within me that I cherish a lot is a much more thorough and expanded ability to experience emotions, that I don't think regular people ever experience. In essence, it made me more finely attuned to my emotions in a way most people aren't, and it made me a deep thinker. You can interpret that however you want.

I think there's two kinds of inspirations you can get. The kind that inspires you to greatness is the kind that I think wears off because of its nature, or for some other natural reason outside of our ability to influence. The other kind is the kind that moves you at the level of the soul. Its usually melancholy or poetic sort of stuff. That kind of stuff stays with you forever. It doesn't wear off. And thats what ends up having a bigger change within oneself than anything else. This true for me at least.

I remember when i first started watching the 1st episode of TD and Rust goes on the autistic rant about how were all evolutionary mistakes and should course correct ourselves into oblivion to save unborn people from the suffering of life and i turned all my extra shit off like streams and games to watch the show. God i wish i could watch it again for the first time.

No, movies are empty entertainment and have nothing profound to say, only attempt bad reenactment of certain situations.

Same. I don't watch much of anything anymore because I hate everything. Avoid watching old kinos I like because I know if I watched them now, I'd start hating them too and I don't wanna taint my perception and memories of them. I broke my streak of not watching anything only for The 3 body problem and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed that. I binged through it in 2 days and now I'm back to my usual self. A friend recommended giving Friends a try, he's a real Friendsgay. Forced myself to start it up on Netflix. Barely made it past the intro of the first episode by 3 minutes before I I couldn't bear watching any further then shut it off. I can't watch anything now unless its something new or different like T3BP. And even in that there were moments where I felt like I was beginning to hate it, but I ended up enjoying it.

I watched friends now and then when I was young. Never set out to watch it, but sometimes it was on and there wasnt much to do. Sometimes its dumb, but in my experience, more often than not, its worthwhile. Feels like nobody I know likes it despite how popular it is.

        I like Monica and Chandler.

I was living in Minneapolis during/after the riots and watching Brother 1&2 made me walk around the streets all night and where met random homeless people, dealers and got into fights with Black folk and shit, was honestly a great summer. I ended up meeting this guy who was playing guitar on Stone Arch bridge who brought me over to this chicks house he knew which would cause me to run into this girl in the hallway who I’m engaged to. Based Balabanov, I miss you homie.
