It's not directed by Kevin Smith, he got an executive producer credit for funding it, the director of this movie is the same guy that stars in it, Matt Johnson, on 2016 he made a pretty funny mockumentary about faking the moon landing.

I've seen all three, plus We Need to Talk About Kevin. Elephant is the best film of the four. The Dirties is pretty good though. Zero Day is the only shitty one of the bunch.

How is the shooting at the end is really what I mean?
Nah, it's not fun. It's extremely slow moving until the last 20 mins or so and even then it still crawls. But it's a serious take on the material and kind of hypnotizing by the way it's shot. Also, only like 80 minutes, so not too excruciating as far as art house movies go. The film does reward repeat viewings, since characters criss cross in the background of many scenes and you can learn subtle details by watching what's happening away from the main action of each scene
My life is together and I am not a violent person. I wouldn’t hurt anyone and have no vendettas. But I love watching postal shootings. I love watching school shootings and the mosque shooting livestream was great. I would have loved to see columbine so this film scratches an itch. Ask anyone else that really likes this film and they will tell you the same thing. This movie is watchable for all the tape stuff and the final shooting which is what we all want to see
