I genuinely don't know and base next Wednesday on the fact that there was two weeks between the first and second episodes. There is no official release date as far as I can tell.

GW got very very VERY lucky and picked up both adrian smith and karl kopinski very early in their careers. they are two of the best fantasy illustrators on the planet, and since GW got them as juniors they didnt really know their value, i dont think they paid them terribly well, GW is known for not paying its artists well or giving them credit
frankly, it was pure dumb luck that 2 of the best fantasy illustrators landed in their laps in the first place
It was that old art that first drew me and probably many others into the setting. I dont think the nuArt would have the same effect.
Warhammer art also got ruined when GW decided you weren't allowed to include anything that wasn't available as a mini. Took away so much of the soul that was in those earlier paintings where the Imperium was a mish mash of insane gothic shit.

Imperial resistance is more or less obliterated and survivors just running for wandering necrons, failed experiments and deathmark sniper who was ordered to clean up the mess

It is. Doubly so when they were doing “heroic proportions” where all the features were more pronounced. The type of sculpting you have to do within that stylized look to make it readable at distance is very tough.
