Didn't he liberate a small banana republic when he went to south america that one time?
He's a popular meme on Cinemaphile.
Bane: Conquest is really great, read it.
I was really hoping that the story itself was called
>Bane: Conquest is really great
Yea Conquest is awesome. A rare case of original creators returning and it going completely right.
Dixon wanted to lead up to Bane basically being the DC earth's kingpin of crime and taking a bunch of Apokolips tech that put him at odds with Darkseid. It sounded interesting even though I think trying to wank Bane up to Darkseid levels and making him a straight up criminal instead of an anti-hero might've been regressive after Secret Six. Still I do like the idea of running with the "evil Doc savage" and making him have his own piece of the DCU to lord over.
There's something really, really jarring about this image.
Because it's Dick sprang, who hadn't really drawn a Batman comic since 1960, doing a very then modern, 90's comic character.
That's what I was thinking. Batman and Robin look out of time
Dick Sprang's 90s work for DC is fantastic because he understood exactly why his style was outdated and used that to his advantage.
he's a big guy
His arc pre Flashpoint, barring some regression, was solid. It's been said, but he basically felt an ennui after breaking the bat then getting humbled by Azbats. Tries to explore his father who's the reason he was doomed to even be in his situation, and ends up with talia and the LoA, takes over his home nation to end the dictatorship, and eventually ends up in the secret Six as a sort of big brother/father figure for Scandal savage.
didnt he just kill alfred
He's part Cuban dude
He crashed a plane with no survivors
Simone's Secret Six
great run
He provided Scandal Savage with the stable father figure that her peice of shit caveman dad never could.
When you get right down to it the harsh reality of Batman villains is that most are one hit wonders only good for debut stories. Bane, Two-Face, Scarecrow, they're not written for interesting long lasting appeal
There's only so much you can with "Guy that went cuh-razy!!!!"
Bane's motivation is that he's had a harsh life, and the only remnant of his childhood fear/innocence that he wants to rid himself of is the bat nightmare he kept having. He thinks that if he beats Batman, he can overcome that glaring weakness of his being.
However he technically should be over that, and he hasn't reached the same high since
He largely was under Simone's pen, it being replaced with him struggling under the prison mentality he grew up with and his nature as a former drug addict.
>Real DC
