You people said the same thing about Holland: Has a hot aunt, has friends, has contacts, had a suit made for him, etc.
Then NWH came and took it all away from him.
I expect BTSV to do the same.
>Has a hot aunt,
Good addition
>has friends, has contacts
Doesn't make him a Gary Stu
>had a suit made for him,
Made sense within context, gets chastised by Tony for misusing it
>ACKHUALLY I LIKE THAT THEREFORE IGNORE THAT Cinemaphile AND RAIMIgayS b***hED ABOUT HIM NOT PAYING RENT
Cute Raccoon tho so i will leave it at that.
Even if those things you listed were bad, that doesn't make Holland-Man a Gary Stu or stop Moles from being one.
Doesn't change that he's faster, smarter, more noble, and has more powers than everyone iteration of Spider-Man
Part of what makes Peter both interesting endearing is his relatablity, despite being a powerful superhuman he still has very human problems. Movie Miles is smart, talented, and popular with a great family life and potentially bright future. Basically, he has no personal problems, which would make him endearing like Peter is..
>everyone
*either other
But i'm sure you get what I'm saying either way
>Faster
>Smarter
?
>faster
Did you miss the part where Miles manages to evade every other single version of Spider-Man that exists
It wasn't because he was faster, he just took advantage of the chaos and the fact no one was using lethal force.
>It wasn't because he was faster, he just took advantage of the chaos and the fact no one was using lethal force.
That just goes back to proping him up as the only good Spider-Man. You're telling me not one of the thousands of Spider-Men were not coordinated enough to catch one guy? The scene is Miles vs. thousands of other Spider-Men, many of which are far more experienced for this kind of thing. And yet not one was able to get the kid that was Spider-Man more like a month or two.
Maybe the problems with this scene could've been mitigated had he been assisted by other Spider-Men to escape or an outside force like The Spot was invading their headquarters at the same time. But as the scene is, Miles out-maneuvers every other iteration of Spider-Man because... reasons.
>Miles gets away mainly through dumb luck or using his smarts.
So you concede they made Miles smarter than every other Spider-Man then?
>So you concede they made Miles smarter than every other Spider-Man then?
Miles portrayed as clever enough to evade other Spiderman dosen't mean all other Spiderman are dumb or even all dumber than he is. It's already established he isn't the smartest spider person, I doubt most of these Spider-people are accustomed to working as a team, since most of them have been working solo for years, so they'd likely be getting in each other's way than actually being able to assist each other.
It would be more egregious if miles was fricking landing hits against all the Spiderman and winning, but Miles only ever attempts to evade, and only by the skin of his teeth.
anon, you're talking ti power level homosexuals who can only see everything in linear feats
dude 1 beats dude 2 therefore dude 1 is better
>that was Spider-Man more like a month or two.
He's been Spiderman for a year but yeah, still fricky. He has plot armor there.
That's more of an issue with spidermen not being really good at coordinating (see NWH).
Miles gets away mainly through dumb luck or using his smarts.
The friends weren't comic accurate. Peter's comic friends were buttholes, and he was an butthole right back.
holland peter gets his ass kicked, fricks up, creates his own problem and THEN solves it
miles in his first movie is ok, certainly better than bendis miles
but 2nd miles is full gary stu
>has friends
why do people say this, he sits alone with ned at lunch, they were alone at flash party aswell. he has acquaintances at lizz's math group but they are barelt mention or close.
>has contacts
Peter's obsession with wanting to join fantastic four in the original 616 comic is similar to his want in joining the avengers. he also has contacts in 616
>had a suit made for him
That one is true
>he has acquaintances at lizz's math group but they are barelt mention or close
Miles' only friend is Ganke.
>Holland gave up his aunt, his friends, his crush, his scholarship, even his connection to Tony so he could save the world, before that he even got his identity out and harassed
>if Miles was put in the same situation he would get everything from his family, his friend, his crush to even more gadgets, not a single racist or villain calls him a Black person and wants him to die a painful death
NWH wasn't about shitting on staples of the Spider-Man series as tired cliches (after the movie lied and pretended they were tired cliches)
>the ONLY spider-man to be so selfless and free thinking so as to even want to try to save his family from dying
He's selfish. He's willing to risk the stability of the multiverse to save his dad. Did you even watch the movie?
>he’s selfish
>he wants to save his dad
Oh I bet he’s TOTALLY gonna look bad when he saves his dad and the universe
They'll bend the rules to make him look good despite his motives being as bad as the Kingpin's.
The movie itself doesn't agree with you, dumbass. The audience is supposed to disagree with Miguel, you're agreeing with an explicitly false premise.
>t. moron
The audience isn't supposed to agree or disagree with any one in particular, but the movie presents sides of an argument. The only reason you feel the movie is "telling" you to agree with Miles is because he is the protagonist and as such we spend a lot of time emerged in his pathos. Were Miguel the protagonist and we were to expereince in more emotional depth his struggles you would say the movie is "telling us" to agree with Miguel. This kind of shallow deep thought process emerges when grown men only consume children's media so can never develop media analyitical skills greater than that of a 5 year old. The movie doesn't need to hold your hand for you to come to a conclusion. God forbid you stumble on anything verging on even greater levels of nuance you mentally stunted baboon.
Did you? Miles explicitly says he wants to save EVERYone, not just his dad.
he's going to lose everything, the fate of spiderman is to endlessly suffer
>the fate of spiderman is to endlessly suffer
Thats the thing anon HES NOT SPIDER MAN.
I dunno he has the powers and suit I'm pretty sure he's spiderman
He cannot be Spider-Man, he can only be A Spider-Man
Peter is also "A spiderman", the point of the comics was anyone could wear the mask he just happened to be chosen
No, Elvis is Elvis, every Elvis impersonator is AN Elvis.
>the point of the comics was anyone could wear the mask he just happened to be chosen
lol
So you don't even understand the most basic part of the story yet want to gatekeep? Elvis is literal person not a superhero.
>So you don't even understand the most basic part of the story yet want to gatekeep?
t. movie secondary
>Elvis is literal person not a superhero.
Spider-Man is a literal person as well
>t. movie secondary
Implying the comics don't say the same shit repeatedly
>Spider-Man is a literal person as well
No, Spiderman is an identity who happens to be used by Peter, if Peter is gone and someone else took on the mantle, they are still Spiderman, Elvis was a living breathing person, not an Identity you can just use whenever, is it really that hard of a concept to grasp?
>Implying the comics don't say the same shit repeatedly
t. movie secondary
>No, Spiderman is an identity who happens to be used by Peter, if Peter is gone and someone else took on the mantle, they are still Spiderman, Elvis was a living breathing person, not an Identity you can just use whenever, is it really that hard of a concept to grasp?

t.pathetic troll
t. movie secondary
Nope. His video game is titled "Miles Morales" while the game with Peter is titled "Spider-Man"
>The subtitle says his name!
moron
>Mary Jane spinoff is announced
>is called Spider-Man: Mary Jane
>WHOA MARY JANE IS SPIDER-MAN!?!?!?!?
mary-sue isn't about the details it's how the story is told. morons will go "look this character isn't tragic, it's a mary-sue" and they'll go "look at this overly tragic mary-sue!"
>having a loving family, a friend and being academically successful are ridiculously unrealistic achievements according to Cinemaphile
Having no problems in his life outside of being the best Spider-Man is what makes him unrealistic you mong
Being Spider-Man is unrealistic.
Yes it is, it’s why Peter story was so good. The homie could bench a truck but also get hit with a bad day at work. The only thing miles has is his skin color and his attachment to peters name, which would be fine if he added ANYTHING to it beyond getting bendis money. But the homie is just a soulless nothing character with no flaws outside of his perfect life being “hard” before letting his perfect parents know who he is
>academically successful
Yes. The average person is not a genius and that's okay.
Oh well. He's just a silly little guy
>Gets his girl
More like his girl got him.
Part of me hopes they don't do the Gwen meme out of some twisted sense of spite and to "own da heckin' chuds" in the same way the Miles mandate apparently keeps getting fueled by people hating it but at the same time I really want to see the cope when they make Miles frick men
>has both his parents
for now
>gets the girl
no he doesn't
>so super smart he can go to any college he wants to
intelligence is pretty much a prerequisite for most spidermen even hobie.
>has more powers than previous spider-men
Miguel has poison fangs and retractable talons
>faster than every. single. other. spider-man
Miguel and many other spidermen manage to catch up with him multiple times
>smarter than every. single. other. spider-man
No evidence to support this, mf isn't even smarter than Hobie.
>the ONLY spider-man to be so selfless and free thinking so as to even want to try to save his family from dying
Wanting to save your father despite risking an entire universe isn't really "selfless" and the free thinking bit could just be explained away by him not technically being a proper spiderman due to his anomalous status.
>he's going to succeed and save his father from dying and therefore proving all other spider-men to be complete morons
Big maybe
Anon is a moron
Isn't the same for Spiderman India?
>Miles is a Gary Stu
Then he's not just Black Peter. You can't have it both ways.
>Gary Stu
>Can't even win against the Spot
>Gets send to the wrong universe and captured
>Ruins his dad's party
>gets the girl
Should we tell him?
Spider-Poochie
He's 15. Give it time and his future prospects and number of living parents will decrease.
>has both his parents
not a Gary Stu characteristic
>gets the girl
Not a Gary Stu characteristic
>so super smart he can go to any college he wants to
Studying does not make you a Gary Stu and even then he does shitty in Spanish
>has more powers than previous spider-men
Not a Gary Stu trait
>faster than every. single. other. spider-man
Not true, they were just uncoordinated
>smarter than every. single. other. spider-man
Nowhere is this said
>the ONLY spider-man to be so selfless and free thinking so as to even want to try to save his family from dying
Risking the lives of the entire multiverses (an almost infinite amount of people) to save one person, which makes him selfish
>he's going to succeed and save his father from dying and therefore proving all other spider-men to be complete morons
For a feel good happy ending? Probably, but they were doing the best they could with the info they had and most probably already went through their canon event and thought it was inevitable
>Miles is a Gary Stu
I wish this term hadn't gotten popular with non-writers, you morons stretch it so hard, the fact that you mentioned powers, speed, getting a girl, and having both parents as traits of a Gary Stu speak volumes about how fricking ignorant you are about writing.
>I wish this term hadn't gotten popular with non-writers, you morons stretch it so hard
I'm so happy basic literary criticism is popular with non-writers. Artists need their shit kicked in constantly to curb their massive egos.
He has no struggles and no life outside of the costume, his entire character and story revolves around the mask. That’s antithetical to the story of Spider-Man and very boring and pointless
Can I please get one /co comment from someone whos actually seen the movie? It You people just seem dumb.
His whole conflict with his parents comes from him being unable to balance his superhero life and his regular life, to a point where he struggles to even show up to his parent teacher meeting and showing up late to his fathers party which he gets grounded for.
gary stu is a character who never does any wrong and has no fault (and if they have those they are functionally irrelevant or seen as endearing) and every character praises and talks up to. Most often they're also self inserts of the author.
people just throw the term at any character they don't like because they don't understand the term
>gary stu is a character who never does any wrong and has no fault (and if they have those they are functionally irrelevant or seen as endearing) and every character praises and talks up to. Most often they're also self inserts of the author
So, Miles Morales?
i'd say flubbing almost every interaction with his parents and massively screwing up with Spot don't count. Also causing the mess with pavitr's world. From his pov he's potentially dooming the multiverse because he can't let go.
that makes sense when miguel, the leader of the spiderverse squad, keeps telling him he's a mistake, an anomaly and should've never been spiderman (also blaming him for dooming earth 42)
>i'd say flubbing almost every interaction with his parents and massively screwing up with Spot don't count. Also causing the mess with pavitr's world. From his pov he's potentially dooming the multiverse because he can't let go.
None of them count until they result in unfixable mistakes he gets the blame for
>flaws and mistakes don't count if they get fixed during the movie
are you honest to god moronic?
and mistakes don't count if they get fixed during the movie
Yep, that's how it works in storytelling
so almost every character ever is a mary sue because most stories are about growing and fixing flaws/problems
Yep, like how Peter revives uncle Ben in Spider-Man or revives captain Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man or Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 or patches up things with Liz in Homecoming or revives aunt May in No Way Home etc
holy frick you're either moronic or autistic. probably both
>that makes sense when miguel, the leader of the spiderverse squad, keeps telling him he's a mistake, an anomaly and should've never been spiderman (also blaming him for dooming earth 42)
No it doesn't, Miguel's logic is sound, Miles sounds like a c**t for clinging to an identity he stole from a dead man instead of feeling guilt or asking himself how to make things right or coming up with his own identity. Also this problem follow Miles in his every appearance.
I think it's creepy how his motivation is literally "I want to be Spider-Man specifically" and nothing else. Not "I want to save people" or "I want to do good" or "I need to do the responsible thing", nope he's just insistent on being "Spider-Man" in particular. Like if Peter A came back to life in his universe and went "okay you need to stop calling yourself Spider-Man and dressing like me now" he'd be mad about it and fight him instead of going "oh sorry I'll do my own thing and come up with a name and costume it my own then" like every other superhero and a ton of alternate Spider-Men did. Like he wouldn't even be okay with having a spider moniker that's not "Spider-Man" like Spider-Punk or Spider-Byte etc.
Does anyone find this sociopathic behavior relatable?
Do you know literally anything about Spider-Man? A big part about being Spider-Man is that it basically destroys your personal life and it's very clearly having an effect on Miles and his parents
What’s his personal life? What does he want to do? Who does he want to be? Why is it so important his parents don’t know he has powers? Pete couldn’t tell aunt may because the stress could’ve killed her, why can’t miles let his parents know? Why did his cop father IMMEDIATELY forgive this new Spider-Man for killing his brother? Everything about miles is surface level without any purpose or soul beyond what writers who hate the franchise have Wiki’d
This is a bait thread. Just move along.
To where? There aren't any non bait threads.
Dude's going to lose his mom and it's going to be the most textbook moment of suffering that I'm going to hate
He can't be stupid because that would be racist. He can't have a troubled family life because that would be racist.
>because that would be racist. He can't have a troubled family life because that would be racist.
Your just saying shit now, he's explicitly shown up in terms of intellect by other smarter spidermen and he struggles with his relationship with his parents due to his relationship as spiderman.

>Bendis signs on as Executive Producer
>movie goes to shit
It was to be expected
Everything bad about this movie was present in the first one as well, just to a lesser degree because the creators know what they're doing, they're boiling the frog
>gets the girl
>girl
lol didn't even read the rest
>the black spider-man is the only one with a living father figure in the picture
Expectations subverted!
MY Spider-Man
>It is 2011. I am 18 years old. The Miles Morales story is about how he IS Spider-Man.
>It is 2018. I am 25 years old. The Miles Morales story is about how he IS Spider-Man.
>It is 2023. I am 30 years old. The Miles Morales story is about how he IS Spider-Man.
>2001 was 22 years ago
Holy shit man
>working class
>goes to public school
>lost uncle/adoptive father to crime
>ended up in a single mother household overnight
>both him and his aunt/adoptive mother are struggling due to uncle having been the sole provider
>stepped up to help his aunt out with the finances
>aunt also gets seriously sick often.
>still tries to make it all work no matter how much bullshit comes his way
Is it really a wonder why Peter so relatable to people around the world?
>gets cucked on a daily basis
Normies are lame
Peter's more black than Miles.
Stop putting Peter and Miles against each other. They are friends.
They're not, they have never shared a friendly moment in 10+ years of co-existence
THEY DO IN MY MIND
Don't you feel like a fricking idiot?
>posts mandated diversity moment
Why did you post a cartoon where states that his peter died like a b***h? Multiverse shit is the worst part of comics anon, why defend it?
Because a lot of the other pictures I have of Peter and Miles hanging out is hardcore gay porn, anon.
I bet you five bucks this series ends with peter dying
Don't even joke about that.
Sony would never
It makes to much sense anon, they’re trying to do a whole Arkham thing and after this game peter doesn’t have spin offs to set up anymore, so they’ll bump him off for the sales bump, give miles a dlc and reboot
>give miles a dlc and reboot
Lol they're obviously setting up a "year of Miles" push where he'll take over ASM, MCU, the games etc
The current theory is he’s taking amazing over for the 1000th issue, which I could see but god knows I won’t pay for any of it.
That would be the thing to make me finally stop reading Spider-Man
Based. I'd love some more Spider-Man games. Give us a new one every 2 years or so again.
Get outta here Bendis
FRICK YOU I WANT ANOTHER SHATTERED DIMENSIONS. I WANT A GAME WHERE NOIR HAS HIS TRENCHCOAT.
WE HAVE THE TECH TO DO IT NOW.
Delusionally moronic
They have but they are few and far between. Peter and Ben had more moments during the two years of the Clone Saga than Peter and Miles have had in the 8 years since Secret Wars
He's black, which is unfortunate.
