yes
2014 buzzword
>That profile pic.
If Lee doesn't show up, then I will be surprised.
Lee doesn't exist. It's a bunch of anons pretending to be him. If they don't post the thread themselves they won't show.
Other than Kratos, does anyone actually love those characters?
Coomers like Ryuko,so yeah
Mako is better,anyways
I prefer Nonon , I don't know how her VA managed to make her so memorable
Women love Kylo Ren
Self-inserting dykes use Blake to vicariously reem Yang.
Ryoko is fun, is a comedic foil for Mako and a thematic foil for Satsuki
I love Ryuko
I love Ryuko despite not having watched Kill La Kill at all
Kys
Please
Weebs and coomers like Ryuuko because they have no goddamn taste. Kill la Kill was absolute trash from start to finish.
Counterpoint: it was fun
How could a Sonic Adventure 2 adaptation be trash?
Love is a strong word but I liked Adam Driver as Kylo, I thought he was one of the best parts of multiple bad scripts
Yep, there's a lot of Kylo Ren x Rey shippers.
All of these characters are indeed a red flag apart from Kratos.
>mlp profile pic
Opinion discarded
Sunset Shimmer is cool
g2b Luis.
>dub
Different anon.
I unapologetically prefer dubs.
Most of the time anyway.
Kill la Kill sure was an edgy show
>dub
This is Cinemaphile, don't pretend like you have standards.
>barbiegay
"My offspring. Oh, and Kratos too."
I dunno but that's not for some rando twitter account to decide
>screenshot of some autistic brony's twitter post
good thread
Have Twitter screenshots become an instant way to know a thread should be discarded?
>become
Chloechads stay winning though
>phoneposting
Can't believe so much time has passed that those are considered the poster children for edgy (barring Kratos)
Whatever happened to Shadow?
Shadow isn't even edgy either.
He grew out of it
Shadow was edgy for one game and only because of amnesia and he got over it in the canon ending.
In SA2 he's just misguided and literally does less damage than Eggman or Rouge. In 06 he's full on power of friendship with Team Dark.
>In SA2 he's just misguided
"Misguided" nothing, he's outright brainwashed.
>mlp pic
No self awareness, I tell you.
Wasn't Kratos reedem by the new games as a character of "you're trying now to be better"
Edgy is now just a buzzword that people throw around because they're too intimidated.
It's ultimately pointless because labeling something as "edgy" is merely a buzzword used to belittle things that possess an unconventional or provocative quality, which people may not be interested in or fully comprehend, leading to an inaccurate assessment.
Did that girl just commit self die?
tldr; she got herself stuck on a timeloop
>Greek Kratos
Actually edgy, but the point of the entire series was that he was an butthole and the shit he did was wrong. He still had redeeming traits and wasn't wholly unlikable, like some of the c**ty gods he murdered.
>Kill la Kill
"Edgy," lmao. The opinion of someone who's never seen the show.
>Steven
I understand the rest, but how is liking Steven a red flag?
Not really. She's stuck in a time loop and aware of it. She's also a mental wreck at that point.
>I understand the rest, but how is liking Steven a red flag?
Steven Universe's fandom is maybe half a step down from the autism that was ponies. Just replace horses with space lesbians and fill the fandom with social justice morons as opposed to actual autists.
So they actually are more obnoxious then horse fandom.
SU's fandom has the distinct honor of the highest number of attempts to get fan artists to kill themselves IIRC
No. While the other posters are right and she has time powers, thats not whats going on there specifically.
In that show, all magical girls are essentially meat robots piloted by their souls trapped in their soul gems. As long as the gem is intact, it literally doesn't matter what happens to their body, they cannot die. They'll just regenerate the damage.
Black haired girl knows this. Blonde haired girl does not. Black haired girl uses this to her advantage.
I feel like the only people who call Ryuko edgy are people who've never watched KLK and only ever seen screenshots of her design.
If she's "Edgy", then so is Squidward.
would never date someone who had shit enough taste to think Star Wars is good
Good thing you don't need to worry about dating anyone anytime soon lmao
Steven isn’t as bad as those other characters (especially Nu Velma).
This is literally just two little pygmy people pointing and screaming at each other and I cant be bothered to care because they're crying about shit that was popular almost ten fricking years ago
is that.... A HUMANIZED COLORED MINIATURE HORSE IN THE PROFILE PIC?!?!?!?!
AAAAAAAAAA HELP ME JANNIEMAN I'M GOING INSANE!!!!
What's up with that filename?
Quoted tweet is actually based lmao annoying lib characters are shit
>old kratos
>ryuko
>some RWBY prostitute
>kylo
There is not a single human being on the planet who likes all 4 of these characters at once
>Half of the pic is literally offtopic and one is even against the rules
>people I don’t like starter pack
What useless drivel
Does any man like Kylo?
*slowly raises hand*
>liking characters is a red flag
I just like them, I didn't copy their personality or world view ffs
No, it's a buzzword for anything that criticizes christianity.
Wouldn't this also be anti Semitic since the israelites were the one who got the ball rolling on worthshiping the Abrahamic God?
I love seeing this kind of meme
12 men got questioned and persecuted for their entire earthly lives afterwards but yeah, they just did it for the gibs
For me personally, it's whenever a show puts in a nerd/geek character and he's the most insufferable character in the entire cast.
Thats basically always what the term meant, since its inception. The problem is that modern day internet culture, social media in particular, devalues every single adjective and qualifier it gets its hands on because everyone is in a race to inflate the perceived importance of their trivial bullshit. Edgy has been devalued to nothing the same way that 'epic' and 'literally' have been: overused to describe the banal and mundane of people's daily lives to such a degree that they can no longer be associated with their original purpose as words.
Awesome means to 'something that inspires awe'. Is the hot dog you bought at the 7-11 'awesome'? Are you in awe of it? Does it inspire you? Or are you making a tweet at 2:00 in the morning and you need to feel special?
>kill la kill
>edgy
>ryuko
>edgy
This is literally the edgiest thing I heard after Linking Park
I don't know how anyone can watch the first 5 minutes of Kill la Kill and think its anything other than cartoonish over the top fun.
What?
Ryuko is only called edgy because she has Shadow's hair.
Sounds more like Evanescence.
While KLK isn't really edgy at all, Ryuko definitely is close.
Satsuki is vastly superior anyways
Ryuko is NOT edgy, most of her agression is aimed towards people who actually wronged her.
For all Mako's wackiness Ryuko doesn't treat her like anything less than a friend, and goes out of her way to humilate herself to keep her safe.
Most people don't even know what Ryoko and KLK is even inspired by, let alone have actually watched it.
Satsuki fits more of the "edgy" type, and she's presented as the villain for a good chunk of the series.
>Ryuko definitely is close.
Ryuko isn't edgy at all.
She's only edgy if you're the kind of person who exclusively watches cartoons for 6 year olds.
Loving Catra is definitely a red flag for me
Have personally met 3 people who were obsessed with that character and all 3 of them were suicidal, heavily medicated femcels.
Definitely the biggest red flag I've seen
Catra and Azula are red flags if the person is female.
If male I assume he's just into crazy chicks.
What a useless thread, yet it keeps getting necrobumped for some reason
Is this board so starved of western media to enjoy they have to screencap some literally who brony. Holy fricking shit, how embarrassing. The new anime season is starting in 20 days, do yourself a favor
It was always a buzzword in the context of modern vernacular.
But believe it or not it did not always have negative connotation. It used to just mean something was cutting edge or pushing boundaries, for better or worse. Just look how movie critics used to use it.
Somewhere down the line it turned into "deliberately provocative" or trying to get a rise out of people. And finally just kind of became "trying and failing to be cool".
Someone being into Netflix Catra really is a red flag though. Only Cinemaphile and post-mortem Tumblr even know that show exists so you're already dealing with a questionable demographic.
1. Kylo Ren is the greatest character in all of Star Wars, this guy is a moron
2. Out of all the characters in RWBY, you declare Blake Belladonna the edgy manchild character when Adam Taurus is RIGHT FRICKING THERE???
3. WHO THE FRICK LIKES VELMA??????????
>Kylo Ren is the greatest character in all of Star Wars
Someone forgot HK-47 exists. Not the meme people like, but the original character from KOTOR.
https://vocaroo.com/11BKUj5jQQUM
George doesn't even own Star Wars.
It's amusing to see people so invested in the caricatures they've cooked up of what their enemies are like that they start attributing things to them that don't even make sense. There's no actual person there, they're just clumping together things that annoy them into an omnipresent boogeyman. Meanwhile, you can probably write this moron's autobigoraphy without even consulting them and not miss a beat.
So what is inherently wrong with "edgy"?
Frick you, if liking Catra as an interesting and very flawed character is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
I don't use Twitter, why are even saying?
I have yet to meet a Kylo Ren fan who is not a female.
Majority manchildren don't understand his character and him for killing Han Solo
Bump
Bump why? You're the shithead who made the Tweet aren't you?
There's different types of edgy, I'm personally a fan of like the gothic like 80's edgy shit or like over top extreme 90's edgy shit. The word barely has any meaning anymore tbh.
>Has "edgy" become a buzzword
Has become? In the 2011 you were called an edgelord for playing Bulletstorm, because edgy Bulletstorm had lots of cussing in it. Not even fricking joking.
This place is a casualgay farce. Edgy has been a buzzword for 12 years. Just like how "this is too hard" has become a slogan for "I suck at playing a fricking game and I had no idea I can level my HP at a bonfire".
Using "reddit" as an insult is just as overused as edgy, but using edgy is truly reddit behaviour. You see, let me give you an example. I play the game Warframe, here you can color the armor of your character. If you color your character with serious tones, with no flashy colors, people are gonna call you edgy. These are always the same people who color their characters fully pink or with neon colors and think they are funny. They think that any form of serious dialogue or expression is *buzzword* because they can not properly engage in this kind of dialogue. They are, you guessed it, manchildren.
To be fair, reylos are cringe
>redpilled women that enjoy dominant men, submissive woman dynamic are somehow cringe
This is how I know you are a homosexual.
>manchild
>Kratos
Holy frick someone never played the fricking games.
Why does Ryuko always get this treatment? She's always thrown in with Western characters too and by far leftoids who clearly don't watch anime.
It's because she looks like Shadow the Hedgehog in color scheme, right? These people think red + black = edgy. Nothing about her is edgy, she's just a tomboy thrown into a world saving situation. She's really quite sweet.
It's very misused and incredibly overused, but not illegitimate. Calling Ryuko "edgy" is just a joke by KLK fans, a meme. KLK is too much of a silly comedy to actually be edgy and Ryuko is a parody in part of "juvenile delinquent hero" characters.
Kylo Ren, Kratos: Not edgy, they're typical of their genres and not gratuitous, it's not like Kylo is more "edgy" than Darth Vader. Both getting redeemed/growing in some way also totally disqualifies them as edgy.
When I think "edgy," I think throwing in a ton of put of place over the top violent and gorey and overly grim shit that seems out of place, fake, and just there for its own sake.
For example, the show versions of Ramsay Bolton and Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. They have crazy plot armor like they're superheroes and are Mary Sues. They only exist to do tons of tryhard over the top evil shit. At least half the cast of GoT did similar things, but not with that plot armor/tryhard/Mary Sue/cheesy (and not on purpose) element.
Something like Velma twerking over a corpse while everyone is covered in blood in Velma is also edgy. Why is she doing that, why is this scene happening? It feels like it's just trying to be SHOCKING on purpose but just seems dumb, it's not funny, so it seems gratuitous, "tryhard."
Basically real edgy is an execution thing. It's when writers try to be really over the top shocking just for its own sake, not because it fits or serves any other purpose. And it's done badly, so it feels really obvious they're throwing amateur writing at you trying to shock you, when it's not actually shocking, it's just stupid and distracts from everything else.
>I see ponyshit
sorry anon
