Avatar as a story can't be told in 8 episodes and never should have been, especially in live action by people who don't understand the source material.

The it did an entirely okay job with the limited space they had but the one criticism I will agree with is that they definitely should have had more episodes.
Maybe they’ll increase the amount for the second season if the show is successful. That way half the season doesn’t have to be two-parters because they can’t dit everything in a single hour.
Netflix won't increase episodes because they have "proven" with statistics that 8 episodes is the optimum number for a streaming platform. Short enough to bingewatch. That's all they care about. That you consume in one sitting.
